This book has brought together all the various approaches to speed reading in one quick read. there are a few new ideas, but most of them are the established approaches. Well worth your time.

Kindle version. I would not recommend this book due to the fact that it is mostly information taken from other books. You might be better off reading other books listed in this book instead. I certainly did not read 300 pages in 1 hour as the book claims after I was finished with it. 2 stars due to its references to other books which you can read.

I found Chapter 5 the most significant part of this book. For me, jumping across phrases in a text works for me because my eyes can quickly scan a group of words so my brain can process them and get the gist of what phrases mean as I go down the page. I wondered about regression, that is, going back to reread what was just printed because I sometimes do that. While regression often comes from a lack of concentration, is sometimes comes because a totally unfamiliar stops us.. I had always heard that speed reading actually improves comprehension, and the author mentions that in Chapter 6. The earlier chapters of the book didn't seem all the useful to me, however, and some of it appeared repetitive. Overall, however, this would be a good book for someone who needed guidance into reading faster.

John R. Torrance provides great insights and techniques into speed reading. With all the information these days we need to select what we read, and we need to skim over information fast to get the essence. This book offers a quick way on how to read faster. It covers all aspects of the speed reading topic, and is a great primer to start.

Very informative techniques and tricks to use in your studies or while you read

Very informative. Author did a lot of research and imbedded it soundly into this amazing book. I learned about the mind, how it processes information. Various techniques to read quicker and faster and retaining more. Scanning and skimming was a key point for me. I highly recommend this book! 5 stars!!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book does a great job outlining the foundations for the superpower of speed reading. It presents the knowledge efficiently and very effectively.

Good if you serious about implementing ideas

would not recomand this book. A lot of waste and general words for a book called proven speed reading techniques. Only one chapter trully focuses on this topic and there, the book gives no or very limited help. If you want to learn speed reading this is not the book for you.
