I am guessing that is by weight not volume as the jar is small. And works quickly. The stropped surfaces really do come out looking mirror-like, with minimal effort - surfaces honed to 8000-12,000 on ceramic stones prior to stropping. More importantly, the cutting edge is razor sharp - a very light touch during stropping is all that I have needed. A little goes a long way.
