Pulp Riot Pulp Riot Semi-Permanent Hair Color 4oz- Aquatic Aqua

First things first, I have always used splat brand and manic panic since I was a teenager, I always make a mess even if I’m careful. Always get color all over my forehead and neck and it stains for days!! This brand however was amazing!! I made a mess how I usually do and it came right off!! I didn’t need to shampoo or condition my hair after using this, it really was a rinse with water until the water is clear! And my hair is so so soft now! I didn’t use any soap at all to get it off my face, hair, or neck and there is no trace of it anywhere but the hair, it didn’t even stain my scalp and I was crazy liberal with this dye! Usually with splat and other brands, your hands get stained when you wash it out and there is zero color on my hands or under my nails! Unbelievably impressed with this dye!! Now for the color, I was a little skeptical at first because I ordered the pink color called Cupid and the hair dye was purple. But I figured screw it, purple is cute too. As the dye stayed in, it shifted color to a pinkish purple and I was still skeptical until I got out of the shower and saw the finished color! Amazingly true to the box picture and exactly what I wanted! I will definitely be switching to this brand permanently! Photo is with hair still wet!

I bought Sorcery along with a couple other colors (Fireball and Lemon), intending to mix shades and do rainbow hair, but it can be hard to get a good feel for color nuances online. Once I got started I realized this is way more of an indigo than a straight blue, and my attempt to make green was a disaster. It's not a flaw, but I wanted to put the information out there for anyone else who really likes to play around with color theory and reads 1000 reviews before picking colors. It does make a beautiful purple when mixed with Fireball. Sorcery did fade noticeably faster than the other colors, but that's true of most blues and purples. I also don't go to much special effort to preserve my color - I wash 3-4 times/week with a color safe shampoo and otherwise just abuse it. I'm usually a Punky Colour girl and all 3 Pulp Riot shades lack the shimmer and depth I'm used to, but the colors are really nice and bold and the squeezy tube is great when you're not looking to just dip a brush in a jar. They faded nicely to pastel tones rather than going weird like some other brands, both as packaged and mixed to make other shades. I don't think I'll buy Sorcery again, but I will buy Pulp Riot if they have a color that catches my eye. I'm including some fresh and faded photos for reference. I did mix Lemon with Arctic Fox aquamarine that I already had to make the green when Sorcery didn't work out, but everything else pictured is Pulp Riot. The second stripe from the left (between purple and green) is Sorcery without anything else mixed in. The first photo where it's actually styled is within a day of coloring, the middle mid-blow dry picture is 3 weeks later and shows the different colors well, and the third is after 5 1/2 weeks (but I think I washed with clarifying shampoo a couple times towards the end and that really sped up the fading).

This is an amazing product, don't be fooled by color swatches, I refuse to use any other products. So I have natural black hair, but I've been doing foils of "cool light" so for best results and I get 8 plus weeks and I'm stopped everyday atleast 50 plus time's asking me for this information I will share. So back of head is natural color and I use this to make any gray hair covered an add a pop of contrast. We foil bleach my crown to front and sides some, we then wash it out and either wait a day or 2 or blow dry and foil in chunks of this, and do not wash with anything ONLY RINSE WITH COLDEST WATER, USE SOME "chi" ON IT AN WAIT FOR ATLEAST 3 TO 5 DAYS OR MORE IF YOU CAN,I WAIT 7 DAY'S, BUT I WILL ATTACH A FEW PICTURES. IT'S A DARKER HOT HOT PINK BCUZ THE PASTELS ARE BASICALLY NOT WORTH IT, AN IT HAS MAYBE 3 WEEKS DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH YOU WASH IT. I WASH 1 TIME A WEEK UNLESS I GO TO BEACH, I'M IN FLORIDA AND SUN,CHLORINATED WATERS WILL KILL ANY COLORS AS WILL THE PURPLE SHAMPOOS! YOU CAN COLD RINSE OUT HAIR SPRAYS/PRODUCTS. IF YOU DO WHOLE HEAD COLORS DEFINITELY USE "CHI" IT'S EXPENSIVE BUT IF U BLEACH OR USE COLORS YOU'LL BE AMAZED BY HOW SOFT AND NO FRIZZY ENDS ECT ESP THE FLAT IRONS OR ANY HOT IRONS! I am probably skewing the average age of the individuals who are using this product. I have silver hair- from bright, light silver to dark pewter. I don't bleach my hair anymore when I color. I have been using Artic Fox, Iroiroi, Manic Panic, Lime Crime, Lunar Tides, and a few other brands. Originally, although I knew Pulp Riot was a great choice for long lasting and vibrant color, I had trouble finding places to purchase this brand without having a stylist license. I have used pretty much the entire line of purples- which both go on beautifully over my shades of gray as well as fade to lovely shades of lavender and periwinkle. I love teals and blues in my hair, but they seem to fade faster than the purples. I used the Aquatic by Pulp Riot 3 weeks ago- and while it has faded (I am a shower and shampoo every day girl- so I expect to lose color faster... just can't go without washing my hair).... the color is gorgeous and still very much visible. I just reordered another tube, as well as another shade of teal/turquoise and a blue to play with. I imagine this is incredible over bleached hair, especially level 7 and up. The silver hair has taken the color beautifully too. I highly recommend!

I love Pulp Riot and this is my favorite red dye ever (and I’ve been dying my hair since 2006). It’s an intense, deep red, bright without being clown-like, and has a delicious pink tone to it that makes me think of blackberry juice. What makes it my favorite is that is bleeds the least of any red dye I’ve used. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a red semi-perm so it’s going to bleed some, but not nearly as much or for as long as comparable brands. It smells great, and the design on the box is obviously cool as heck. Pyro forever! 🐲

This is the second time I bought this color from Amazon (cupid). The pigment of the dye has always been more on the pink/magenta side so I was pretty shocked when it came out purple. Like purple purple. I'm not sure if it was because this box was stored differently or what but I have been dying my hair this exact color for over four years and have never seen it come out like that before. Unfortunately, my sister and I had already put it in my hair so we just decided to roll with it and worst case scenario my hair would be purple and not pink. After processing though, the color came out exactly as it normally would. I have no clue what happened in the 40 minutes it was on my hair but it went from purple to the dark pink/magenta so it all worked out in the end. I just wanted to post this review in case others experience the same issue and are scared to put it on their hair. From my experience, it worked out just fine.

I loved this color, its creamy and easy to use and apply, its creamy, easy to control and no mess was made, its ready to used no need for developer, its amonia free, it actually left my hair feeling soft, it felt conditioning, also it didn't stain my towel and looks great!

This hair dye is fake. If have never had such a bad result dying my hair in my life. I swar this is just coolaid mixed with shampoo or something. I used this iver nearly white hair. It came out super uneven pinkish Grey purple. My hair also felt horrible after washing it out which is not normal for these type of hair dyes. Don't do it!

It was a much purpler tone than excepted, however the colour is very vibrant. It even showed up on some of my brown bleached hair. Doesn’t stain that much either, I was able to wash it off my shirt with just water

(Photo attached is a couple months after fading. Pardon the grumpy expression, as the selfie was initially taken as a joke to highlight how my medical eye patch can lower my eyebrow and make me look grumpy or intense) While I feel like this dye doesn't last quite as long as the Arctic Fox brand with a similar colour, this Pulp Riot brand fades much better. It fades evenly and still looks like red. After all my years of trying different colours (manic panic, splat, punky color, Arctic fox and now Pulp riot) I believe this is now my preferred fun colour brand. Though I might try the Raven red colour instead next time. I certainly intend on recommending this brand who anyone who intends on dying their hair colourful

I use this to Colour bomb my hair with conditioner. Keeps my colour from fading.
