My yeast package was hot when I took it from my mailbox. Is this whole package ruined?

I’m not sure. It could depend on how hot it wasn’t how long it was hot. My suggestion would be to test it and see. I know that SAF yeast is about as good as it gets. I buy a pound of it at a time and keep the excess in the freezer and it never fails me.

Does frozen yeast have to be room temperature before use?

I always freeze my SAF Instant Yeast both before and after opening the package. Once the package is opened, I put the yeast into a plastic container with a lid that snaps on tightly so that NO moisture can get inside. This yeast is in the form of tiny pellets. Even when you take some from the freezer, it warms up almost instantly. There is no need to bring it to room temperature before you use it.

Can this be used in bread machine?

Yes, this yeast can be used in a bread machine. It's a great yeast although it should be used within 6 months and kept in a cool location for the best results.

I had this 19 months, stored in fridge in a jar. I use regularly but it seems my doughs have trouble rising in recent months. How long does it last?

I keep mine in the freezer, in a glass jar. I have kept it for years and it remains active. In the refrigerator -- I'm not sure. It may not last that long.
