Garden Watering Computer Automatic 4-Zone Water Hose Timer with 2 Solenoid Valve Irrigation System Controller, Green&Grey

We bought an identical set to this prior to our travels about 4 years ago. It works a dream and a set of batteries will do at least a year’s use. It allows the plants to be watered in a variety of timer settings, in many various options (length of time, times per day/week, choose the different hose lines (we use all four)). The only reason I am buying it again is that I left the main block connected last winter (idiot!) and the water froze breaking the seal of the main water splitter unit. It was better value to buy a complete new set so I have spares. The main unit and solenoid valves are all in perfect working order. In the past we have left it to its own devices while we were away for 8 weeks in the summer, and we lost no garden plants! It worked a dream.It also saves lots of time having to walk a hose around the garden, just give it a quick manual override and the plants are all watered :)

Bought this to automate the watering of four separate flowerbeds in my garden.First lesson is this kit only comes with two solenoids, which only allows you automatically switch On/Off two of the four hose pipe outlets. This may be enough for you but in my case, I needed the four, so I had to buy another two solenoids.Second lesson is that the programming is not what I was expecting. It is advertised as having 4 x programmes, 4 x cycles, duration setting and Interval setting. Well, I thought this could give me endless configurations if I needed them but that’s not exactly what it delivers.The logic is1. You can have up to 4 periods of watering in a 24hr period. Each one of these periods is referred to as a Programme. So for example watering will automatically start at say 2am, 4am, 2pm and 4pm.2. For each of the watering periods (Programmes) you can have up to 4 Cycles each with a predefined duration for each of the four water outlets. However, the set of four Cycle Durations you have defined is replicated across the four programmes.3. You can set up intervals at which your predefined programmes will run, Daily, 1 every 2 days or one every 3 day etc or on predefined days of the weekSo as an example, I set up 4 x Programmes at 2am, 4am, 2pm and 4pm and four cycles each of 10 mins in duration to run daily across the four outlets…..This is what will happen.On everyday02:00 - 02:10 - Water to Output One will run for 10mins and switch off02:10 - 02:20 - Water to Output Two will run for 10mins and switch off02:20 - 02:30 - Water to Output Three will run for 10mins and switch off02:30 - 02:40 - Water to Output Four will run for 10mins and switch off02:40 – 04:00 – No activity04:00 - 04:10 - Water to Output One will run for 10mins and switch off04:10 - 04:20 - Water to Output Two will run for 10mins and switch off04:20 - 04:30 - Water to Output Three will run for 10mins and switch off04:30 - 04:40 - Water to Output Four will run for 10mins and switch offEtc etc.It will actually work for me but is less flexible than I thought it would be. The programming logic for me seems like it has been designed by an Alien.

Worked great for 1 month then the plastic manifold suddenly split at some point during the night. Not along a join as would be expected but along the edge of the actual moulding. A crack about 60mm long, obviously allowing water to spread out all night.

At approx £50, this unit is considerably cheaper than the heavier-duty units from makes like Hunter so it’s to be expected that it’s not as rugged as more expensive models.As other reviewers have noted, the English language instructions are pretty rubbish - a laser-printed sheet poorly translated with the minimum of information. But the programmer is pretty straight forward and the big dial makes it quite easy to figure out, so not a huge problem.The unit is supposed to be water resistant, but I’m not convinced that the seals will really hold up outside throughout the year, so I have made a rain cover for it from an 8L plastic waste bin (about six quid from Amazon) which I have lined with silver foil bubble wrap insulation, this should also protect it from extremes of heat which might crack the plastic.I have set the unit up to water my front garden and so far it’s doing a good job, though I’m only two weeks in so that could change.My only real complaint is that it is listed as a four-way controller, but you only get two solenoid valves with it, so it’ll only work as a two-way system unless you buy additional solenoid valves (at about £15 a pop). A fully populated system would set you back around £80.

Just want to start by saying the seller was first class and very helpful.From the instructions it shows removing the short circuit and connecting the rain sensor.While I’m that set up the display flashes 1111 which I’ve found out now that means that the unit won’t run as it thinks it has rained.However this doesn’t come with a rain sensor. That has to be bought separately.Once I had sussed that all out and bought and fitted the actual rain sensor and not just the connector it works automatically as it should and I’mNow happy 😊

Although the unit failed after a few weeks I must say the company were excellent and gave me a full refund. It is only when things go wrong you experience what a company is really like. I did not expect anything back. I would use them again and would have probably tried a replacement but had already purchased another brand.

Replaced a more complicated WiFi enabled system that kept failing me, this is great to run my soaker hoses, would recommend.

Los materiales dan pena. Yo no lo pondría al sol. Y aviso a navegantes. Solo trae dos válvulas, eso quiere decir que las otras dos zonas son manuales. Tienes que comprar las válvulas a parte y son 22 euros cada una. Quizás merezca la pena mirar algo más caro de mejor calidad.

Aufgrund eines Videos einer Rezession, in dem das Gerät einen etwas wackeligen Eindruck machte, war ich mir nicht sicher, ob dieses Gerät die richtige Wahl ist. Gefallen haben mir die 4 Ventile, die außen liegen und damit ggf. ersetzt werden können. Für meinen Bedarf die ideale Lösung. Also bestellt.Was dann geliefert wurde, hat meine Erwartungen total übertroffen. Eine hervorragende Bedienungsanleitung auf deutsch, die aber fast nicht erforderlich ist, da die Bedienung sowas von intuitiv ist. Das große Einstellrad ist deutlich beschriftet und die Bedienung könnte nicht einfacher sein, sowohl die Programmierung der Stränge, als auch das manuelle Starten eines Stranges. Die Ventile schalten pünktlich und sicher täglich die Bewässerung seit jetzt 3 Monaten.Der aufgrund des Videos erste Eindruck, dass das Gerät wackelig ist, hat sich nicht bestätigt. Es ist nur flexibel aufgehängt. Werde berichten, wie es sich um Langzeittest bewährt, aber da die Ventile einzeln austauschbar sind, bin ich zuversichtlich. Habe lange nach so einem System gesucht. Klare Kaufempfehlung.
