Really Great Printer!
I purchased the Epson ET-5880 for our small office to fulfill our need for a good color printer. I read a number of a reviews about the printer before making the purchase. Most were positive, so I went ahead and ordered the printer. I'm very pleased with this printer. I had no problem connecting it to our network. Installing the drivers on four computers was easy as well. I should note that the printer comes with a CD for installation, but I chose to use the NEWER drivers that were on Epson's website instead. You should do that as well. Filling the ink tanks on the printer was very simple. Not so much as a drop of ink was spilled. The ink bottles are keyed so that one cannot put the wrong color ink in a tank no intended for that color. Once filled, the unit goes through a charging process (Epson's term) to get ink to the print heads. Yes, it uses a little ink, but Epson also supplied a second set of ink bottles so that the ink tanks are full after the charging process. The printing is very fast, yielding high quality print. I suggest using 22 or 24 pound paper, especially if printing on both sides of the paper. I was particularly interested in seeing how this printer would handle scanning. I do a lot of two-sided scanning. The scanning software, SCAN 2 and SCANSMART, both worked well. SCAN 2 gives the user lots of options, but might be overwhelming to a newer user. The SCANSMART software is more visual and gives the user enough features to adjust and/or crop images as needed. The software does provide the option of creating a searchable PDF file, which is something I like as I deal in contract documents. Of course, one can print from a cell phone or tablet if desired. There's even a remote print feature where one can print via email from anywhere where there's an Internet connection. Overall, I'm pleased with this printer. It's not inexpensive, but it will easily meet the needs of a small office.

Great quality text and photo printouts, but expensive
Once printer manufacturers began providing low ink cost options, it seems as though they have taken a number of features out of lower cost printers. This printer was one of the few that I could find that provides not only two sided printing, but more importantly, two sided scanning/copying using the automatic document feeder. The text print quality is excellent. Comparing the same photo printed on a photo printer with the output from this printer, I was surprised to find that I actually preferred the photo from the ET-5880 printer. While I was excited about having an ink tank versus an ink cartridge, I wasn't sure how clean and "mess-free" the ink bottles and filling operation would be. Filling of the ink tanks was not only quick, but without issue. The ink bottles will not even drip after filling when held upside down (although I don't recommend testing this). The printer software is easy to use and select options. Scanner software is adequate, but provides plenty of capability for the normal user. The printer also includes options for an administrative password, wifi direct print, page counter, huge paper capacity (500+ pages), screen timeout, sleep and power off timers, Epson (Internet) Print, print from USB, etc. The ink included is supposed to last for about 5000 pages. On the negative side, the printer is MUCH larger, heavier and more expensive than my previous home printers, since this is actually rated as a small business printer. I would not recommend this printer for home use unless your usage rate several hundered pages per week or more. However, if price is not an issue, this is an excellent full function printer, capable of doing your photo printing needs as well.

Worth the Money!
This printer is the perfect printer for small to mid-size businesses. I purchased this printer for my work. I am an event coordinator at an outdoor shooting club, and I print LOTS of event contracts on a daily basis. We were constantly buying ink cartridges for our previous printer and as you may know, ink is expensive. Key Features I LOVE: Exceptionally low running costs, Two years of unlimited ink, Great print quality, Two-year warranty with registration This printer arrived quick! I ordered it on a Wednesday and received it on Thursday - less than 24 hours later!! The set up was super quick and easy! I like that you can connect up to 8 mobile devices so you can print directly from your phone. You have many different options for connecting - Wireless, Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB. It holds a lot of printer paper. So far, I love this printer. I am eager to see how long the ink will last. I will update once I have a better understanding of the ink usage.

Update
Packaging could be improved because printer was shipped in its retail box. The printer somehow survived the cross country trip at the expense of internal foam packaging. The printer does a very good job but of course it should because it's new. The paper output drawer is somewhat curious because it extends automatically but you have to manually push it in. Set up not exactly straightforward because printer started up with error messages (no paper) when actually full. This Epson has two paper trays. OEM ink is pricey, over $90 for 4 bottles. There are a lots of generic inks available but Epson wants you to buy theirs with a warning. The amount of ink this printer consumes is still being evaluated because upon set up, the ink empty printer must be setup and it does draw down the eco tanks level. This printer is fast but not as fast as the HP576DW it replaces. Wifi connection is reliable and printing using a mobile device is very good. More to come. I've just learned that the aforementioned powered output tray does retract with an on screen button. Ink consumption seems reasonable but the price is still high. Amazon has now reduced this printer 40%. Timing is everything.

Don't Buy this Epson
I have an ET4760 that I love and have had many years. I thought I would upgrade to the ET5880, and I've had nothing but trouble. It can't even print 2-sided without getting a paper jam. I missed the return date by a few days & am now stuck with the $900 piece of junk . I mainly got it as it was suppose to print full page, it doesn't. The only good thing about it is the few times I got it to print it was faster, but I have wasted ink and paper with this machine

Good printer, bad quality control, bad service
The printer setup was easy and it prints great. I would have given it 5 stars if the first one I received had worked. However, it didn't. The cyan print head was totally non-functional. I contacted Epson and he led me through some diagnostics, which I had already done. At one point, he told me to turn off the printer, then press the power button and the "?" button at the same time. There is no "?" button, but there is a "?" on the touch screen. Of course you can't see it with power turned off and you certainly can't press it at the same time as the power button and expect anything different to happen. I had to tell him where to find the diagnostic that he wanted by going through the menus. Finally, he said they would send me a new printer in 5 days. The next day I had gotten no email confirmation from them, so I called them again. That person said I would get an email confirmation. I didn't. So I called again and eventually got my confirmation and about 2 weeks later I got my new printer. This is not a cheap printer. It is Epson's best ink jet printer and I expected better from them.

Great printer for the price
I had been "putting up" with my old printer for years because frankly, I didn't want to shell out $1,000 bucks for a new printer. Finally though, enough was enough. My old printer gave up the ghost . I needed multiple trays and I really like the Eco-Tank tech as far as the whole INK THING goes. So...I sucked it up and purchased this printer. I am now kicking myself for not doing it two years ago. Everything about this printer just works. It prints fast and clean. Is there higher quality PRINT OUTPUT available? Of course, but this is an office printer and that level of quality is not needed. For every day office and home type printing I don't think you can beat this printer. The scanner also works great as do the multiple paper trays. WIFI set up was a breeze, remote printing is easy and the touch screen interface panel is easy to use as well as logically ordered. For the money, great printer, period.

Best printer i've ever owned
I've had this printer since 2022 and it has been an absolute workhorse for me. I've printed thousands of marketing prints for my business during that time and it has just kept producing and producing. The quality is excellent and uses ink modestly. I am only now purchasing new ink for the second time (three ink fill-ups counting originally out of the box). If this printer was the other major printer make that uses initials, I'd have definitely spent more on ink than I originally did on the initial printer. It looks good, fits my space and was super easy to setup. I also use the scan feature a lot and it has never let me down. Only thing I haven't done with it is send a FAX. I'd definitely buy again and wouldn't even look at other printers.

Very Economical
It works very well and is much faster than ET-4750 and ET-4760. The only draw back is that it seems to stretch a scan onto 2 pages sometimes.

Buyer Beware
I should have read and believed the two other one-star reviews on Amazon. First be aware that just about all of the 5-star reviews for this printer found on the global Epson sites and re-produced elsewhere are by Beta testers who appear to have been given a printer by Epson. (I guess the liability lawyers made sure that was stated right at the bottom of each lengthy high praise review, the part that most people --- me included--- never get to whilst skimming the reviews, plausible deniability eh?) I'm a professional engineer and have been using personal computers and peripheral devices since the 1980’s, I've never before seen such egregious and blatant boosting of a shoddy product. So BUYER BEWARE. See below for specifics. The printer has more bells and whistles than a clown car but unfortunately behaves like one too, Epson seem to have completely missed a critical part----- the quality of the printed image output. Out of the box the cyan head on mine was not working properly and is still intermittent after multiple normal cleaning cycles and a power cleaning followed by a 12-hour rest as per the manual. All attempted image prints, thirty or so, have visible horizontal lines Multiple adjustments to the print heads, many changes to all other possible user variables that might affect the image quality and changing connection type from ethernet to wireless to direct USB, have made no difference. The printer just simply fails to meet reasonable expectations for image quality. I’m referencing directly to my 5-year-old HP-8630 Pro that this unit was intended to replace, the HP even at with its advanced years does a better job of printing photographic images. It is also important as mentioned by others, to be aware of the consumable item in the printer, called "the maintenance box" (Stock item number C9345) if this item is not replaced when "timed out” the printer will turn itself, Cinderella like, into a none functioning but rather expensive mound of plastic extrusions, stamped metal and silicon chips. There is no override of this “feature”. Midnight is reported by others to occur at about 3 months into normal usage. Now here's the "Gotcha"-----as of Late November 2020 this consumable item was not in stock on any Epson sales site nor has it been since apparently at least early October. A phone call and an e-mail to Epson Canada for an ETA on a re-stock and at least some assurance of future availability of this essential part were met with obfuscation and the sound of crickets. (This enquiry was made after I found an honest one-star review which alerted me to the issue and whilst the printer was still in transit to me). A none OEM version of the part is available through amazon.ca from China with a quoted four to five-week delivery, if you are lucky. Oh! wait there’s more, the Epson Warranty specifically excludes consumable items from coverage!!!! You’ll be SOL if the printer quits working and you don’t have the unobtanium C9345 box to hand, a warranty claim for malfunction will not be honored. The ET5880 I received with high expectations will almost certainly be going back to Amazon.ca for a refund. This printer is an overpriced and over promoted pile of (fill in the blank). An update after two weeks of ownership, the image print performance has improved to acceptable, just. Epson really should specify that the device takes "x pages" before it will function as intended. I'm waiting to receive some of the OEM C9345 maintenance boxes I ordered from China, two supposedly different suppliers but likely from the same manufacturing facility. If the printer does not recognize the box then it will definitely go back for refund, I have until the end of January and would hope to receive the Boxes before then. (Somewhat humorously, today Dec 3rd the tracking report from the Canada Post report says they handed over one of the items to Canadian customs for "review" Having watched the Border Security reality show several times, I'll bet the drones are probably scratching their heads over a plastic box that's stuffed with absorbent material and with an attached microchip card. I'm betting that when I eventually receive the boxes they will have been interfered with and the adsorbent wadding will have been damaged by testing for suspected absorbed drugs. I have to check what liability the agency has for unnecessary damage, I think can safely assume its zero)
