Fantastic new articulated Barbie with almost all the articulation points I could wish for
Back when I was customizing many Barbie dolls for my daughters and as gifts for others (I loved to customize a doll to look like someone I knew!) I would have loved to have had a truly well-articulated doll to work with. I had to boil and remold body parts to be able to position dolls in something other than a straight standing position with either straight arms or unnaturally bent arms. Thankfully, as I am now starting to collect dolls and customize them for my granddaughter, I have found the almost perfect articulated Barbie. Made to Move Barbie has articulation points at so many points, there is only one more I could wish for (her waist) but even without that, it is a fantastic doll for both play and to use to customize. I picked up the red-hair Barbie first but have now purchased several more. My plan is to have one of each for my granddaughter to play with and then to match body shades to other dolls so I can switch their heads on the articulated body. Then I can have fun customizing the dolls. So far, really like the red-hair girl best. My husband has actually made off with her so he can have his 1990's English Action Man (kind of a James Bond character) pose with her. Each day, I find Barbie and Action Man in different poses, so he is obviously having fun with her as well. Her articulation points are at neck, shoulder, elbows, wrists, upper torso (not at waist unfortunately), hips, knees, and ankles. Her hair is red and she has a few freckles on her lovely closed mouth face. Her eyes are brown, lips are a soft pink and she does not have nail polish. The doll comes with a stretchy aqua and orange top and black yoga pants and does not include shoes. The clothes stretch well with her. The only concern I have is whether or not Mattel will make clothes or shoes to fit her (her feet are flat but are too small to fit in other flat foot Barbie shoes.) If not, I can make the clothes and my husband can use our 3D printer to make her shoes. My concern is really for children who want to play dress up with her. I sincerely hope Mattel answers the call and makes proper clothes and accessories for this great doll. I also hope that they use this body type on many other dolls in the future. It is a fantastic doll with tons of versatility. You can see some of the fun we have been having with this doll once my photos show up. She practices yoga all the time and, as I mentioned, she likes to pose with Action Man as well.

Lovely, with human-like joint movement and very posable
This Barbie is amazing, and she truly has some incredible flexibility. The thing I was most surprised by was that her hands are also flexible. Usually, Barbies have harder plastic hands, which is what I expected, however, this doll has hands that are soft vinyl, making them very soft and flexible as well. Honestly, I could see this doll being used as a toy, for customization and for artists as a reference rather than the usual wooden models. The joints are stiff, which is nice, because it allows her to stay in a pose rather than loose, and the plastic has a lovely texture to it. I bought this doll to paint and customize, and while I need to make new plans for her hands, her skin is matte (as opposed to the regular slight shine of a Fashionista doll) and her sculpt is nice and very unique. There are a few rougher areas where it looks like mold supports were removed that may need to be hit with a nail buffer or some sandpaper, and could be sharp for little fingers, so if you are buying this for a child, it is something to be aware of. Be aware that her legs have almost a "shorts" line below the hip joint. This allows her thighs to be rotated for even more dynamic poses. The same is true for her arms, allowing you to rotate the direction in a way that is natural and makes sense for a human body. The joints seem to follow human anatomy (ie, the elbows only bend in one direction) but can bend fully in said direction. Her feet are flat, but bend at the ankle to accommodate both flat styles of barbie shoes and her characteristic heels. The top and yoga pants are nice and stretchy, though I wouldn't say the fabric is particularly soft. They are nice in that they have enough give, and the doll has enough flexibility, that no velcro or snap closures are needed. Overall, I am very happy with this doll and am looking forward to customizing her! As a child who loved Barbies, I would also highly recommend this doll as a toy or a gift for a little girl (or boy!) as the flexibility really brings this doll to life and would have delighted me as a kid.

My New Favorite Doll
This doll has shiny, layered long hair the color of a new penny. The way that it's parted makes it look thick and natural. Her freckles are fainter than in the stock photos, but clearly visible. She has brown eyes with very well painted highlights, eyelashes, and reddish-brown eyebrows. Her lips are pink. Her head tilts up and down and tilts to both sides. Her body is much more naturally proportioned than the average Barbie. Her bust size is average. She has a defined waist but not tiny. She has curvy hips and thighs. The only body parts really out of proportion are the feet. I'm sure they had to keep them small to fit into Barbie shoes already on the market. I read that because her ankles are articulated, she can wear heels or flats. The dolls have some weight to them. The elbow and knee joints are large and obvious but don't detract from the dolls' appearance. I bought two dolls. Both have one elbow that doesn't bend as far back as the other. DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. It's apparently supposed to be that way for some reason. The dolls are jointed under the bust but not at the waist. This still allows for natural-looking posing. The hips extend out. The legs rotate to the side with the same type of joint as under the bust. Elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles bend. Hands rotate. Arms rotate in the same way as the legs. The tops can be pulled down over the hips and legs to avoid disarranging updos or curls. I have a sundress from a 2014 Fashionista. It fits these dolls. I would think that all Fashionista clothes would fit these dolls except for the Petite Fashionistas. I placed an order for one doll, then canceled it and placed a new order for two dolls. I knew that once I had one, I would immediately want another. I bought mine to redress and photograph. Finally, we have an expensive, fully articulated doll suitable for photographing and displaying! DOLLS DO NOT COME WITH STANDS OR ANY OTHER ACCESSORIES. I'm used to Monster High and Ever After High dolls. Made to Move Barbie is sturdier and moves very differently from MH and EAH. I had to undress one to figure out how the arm, bust, and thigh joints work. If you're buying this doll for a child, I suggest undressing it and showing the child how the points of articulation work. The only joint that seems like it could be fragile is the ankle joint. The dolls have no shoes, jewelry, buttons, snaps or other small parts that could be dangerous to a child. I hope this review answers all your questions. If it doesn't, please ask me about anything I missed.

The best Barbie body on the market, but with one truly annoying flaw
This is my favorite Barbie body ever, almost action figure quality in terms of range of motion. I don't like non-posable dolls, so the first thing I do with a static Barbie is put her head on a body that will pose decently, and Barbie bodies that meet that need are few and far between. This is the best of the articulated Barbie bodies on the market, and at a more budget-friendly price than an action figure body. Because of the way this doll is jointed, her hips are just a smidge wider than the other modern Barbies (not counting the newer versions with the different body shapes), so trousers or pencil skirts meant to fit the Belly Button Barbie shape might be a tad too small for the Made to Move body unless they're made of stretchy fabric. But aside from that, she can wear most Barbie fashions (and to be honest, I tend to make my own clothing anyway because I can't stand Mattel's current tendency to make most of Barbie's clothes pink, purple, metallic silver, and/or plastic looking!) The one major drawback to this doll is that most of them seem to have the glue inside their head that Mattel has been filling a lot of their doll heads with lately. Not only is this glue unnecessary to keeping the hair rooted in securely, it ends up leaching into the hair when it gets too hot and creating a greasy mess that eventually makes the hair next to unsalvageable. (If you can catch this leak early, a dry shampoo with cornstarch left in overnight then vigorously brushed out might help the problem, but it might not. Mattel, what were you thinking?!) This is not a problem for me since I normally buy this doll for her body and use a different Barbie head on it, but for someone else buying it because they want the whole doll, it can be heartbreaking. I am told the brown haired version of this doll (Bambi?) is less likely to have glue inside her head than the others, but mine certainly did. As for this Asian version, her original head was so packed with the oily glue that her hair ended up being unsaveable. I've removed all of her original hair and washed out her head to do a complete reroot on it. Most buyers who aren't into doll customization are not going to want to go through all that bother, so parents who are just looking for a toy for your child, be forewarned. (That said, there are all sorts of tutorials online for safely removing a Barbie head and putting it on a better Barbie body, and this is an exceptionally good body, so I highly recommend buying it anyway if you're up to 3 to 5 minutes of minor doll surgery. Trust me, when your child sees the cool moves this body can do, she or he will thank you!) I want so much to give this doll five or more stars, but that glue-head problem would be a deal breaker for me in any other doll, so I have to give the Made to Move a star off for that. Mattel, could you PLEASE stop using the greasy head glue, or at least switch to another type that won't ruin a doll's hair?! I live in the Deep South; the only way to keep dolls here cool enough year 'round to prevent your glue from leaking is to store them in the fridge, and that's just ridiculous! I am very much hoping that Mattel will produce their diverse new Barbie body styles with this sort of body soon, as well as a Made to Move Ken. Whether simply posing them for play or to use in dioramas, 1:6 scale room boxes or doll houses, or for display in action poses, the articulated bodies are SO much more fun than the static ones (which might explain part of the popularity that the Monster High dolls are enjoying and the slump in Barbie sales in recent years), and it utterly baffles me that Mattel hasn't moved in this direction much sooner.

My daughter's favorite Barbie
This was my daughter's favorite Barbie. All the joints are movable and "playable". The quality and durability are far better than expected - not cheap. The color has not faded, and my daughter says it's a cute toy and one of her favorite Barbies.

Great doll for customs or for play
I bought the doll to use a body for my custom dolls. But even so, the doll if I had kept her as is,is a lovely doll. She has beautiful face screening, with a nice bright pink lip. Her hair is also able to be taken down, as she is fully rooted. After a wash with hot water her hair will lay flat, in a side part style. Her top out of all the made to move dolls from this wave, is my favorite. But I may be biased as purple is my favorite color 😝 So, as a connoisseur of purple, I say it’s a beautiful deep purple w/ a nice pop of teal blue along the hemline. The yoga pants are just black, but are honestly a great staple piece for any dolls wardrobe. I see myself reaching for them often when styling my dolls. Definitely a great addition to any collection whether for play, display or for use as a base for a custom doll.

Great and functional Barbie!
I bought this Barbie doll for my daughter, and she absolutely loves it! The doll is beautifully made, with detailed clothing, vibrant colors, and high-quality materials. My daughter really likes the quality. She has like 100+ dolls and is very precise with her choice. She has wanted this doll and plays with it. It has moving, hands, arms and feet which is TOP criteria for her. The packaging was secure, and everything arrived in perfect condition. It also makes a great collector’s item for adults who grew up with Barbie. Definitely recommend for kids and collectors alike!

Tantissime posizioni!
