I take the batteries out when not needed. Done this routine 3 times since getting this light. I do know they are really bright and do a good job lighting an area **Q: How large is the lantern** A: The lantern is 7 1/2 β€œ high, 3 1/2” wide & 3 1/2” deep This is a great lantern, very bright! **Q: How many hours will the battery last** A: So far it's lasted approximately 18 hours. And I also charged my phone on the same battery.
