TRIM SC520 is a low-odor, low-cost semisynthetic, general-purpose, cutting and grinding fluid concentrate for the multi-material, multi-operational shop. SC520 uses a proven EP-additive package to control built-up edge, improve tool life, and has the wetting and cooling characteristics necessary for superior machining results on high-speed milling and turning operations. It also controls chip welding on soft, gummy materials like aluminum. .

**Q: what is the mix ratio for a horizontal bandsaw?**
A: According to their website:

Concentrations in excess of 7% typically offer the best sump life and tool life. However, the optimum concentration for your operations is best determined by on-site testing.
The minimum recommended concentration is 5% on cast iron and 4% on steel.

**Q: What formula would be best for cutting a variety of different metals on a bandsaw ?**
A: TRIM SC520 will handle a variety of both ferrous and nonferrous metals. This product would be best for a band saw operation.

**Q: How much coolent for a gallon of water ?**
A: I use 12 oz's of coolant to a 3 gal of water... it's perfect for me...

**Q: Is this the correct fluid for my pump/tank system that will be circulating the fluid to and from the work on my metal lathe? (I'm reaming a barrel)**
A: I use this for my metal band saw.  I use regular metal cutting oil for my lathe.  I don't recall the number on the 5 gallon bucket.
