Algae Under Control
I've been looking for a quality algae control for awhile. The liquid ones have gone up in price but don't really control the algae that grows in my fountain. This one does the trick and is reasonably priced. We placed this in the fountain and it goes to work. No need to remember to add it quickly. We were gone on vacation and thought for sure we would need to clean the fountain upon our return, but no, the algae block did its job. Would definitely recommend if you have an algae problem.

Excellent product
I use this product in my garden fountains and have found it to be the best product to keep my fountains from getting algae. Very convenient and easy to use. I put this in my fountains every two weeks.

Smaller than Expected!
Product works well. I've been using this product for quite a few months. Used to get it in larger size (28 g each). This is only 12 g each. Unfortunately, the larger size in bulk cannot be sent to CA, because of Prop65 (what a joke!). Widh they can sell the larger (28 g) size block in small quantity to get around CA Prop65. All in all, am satisfy with the product performance. Just make sure you are aware that this is only 12 g each, good for treating 30 - 100 gals.

quick and effective
My small waterfall/pond was getting overrun by green algae. A friend recommended this product, so bought it and once in hand, dropped a single small block into the pond near the pump inlet. Within a few days, water was clear again, and within a few weeks, all the stones were clean again. Pretty amazing. The package label is a bit confusing though, because it shows pictures of fish on it, like for use in Koi pond, but fine print says it will kill fish and birds. Not sure about the actual dangers, but the newts we have running about during rain (and getting into the pond) have not diminished in number.

Only lasts a few weeks...
I threw one block of the Fountain block in my new fountain and it kept the algae away for about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. Then the algae started growing rampantly so I threw another block in the fountain to no avail. The algae growth got so bad that I had to completely drain the fountain, scrub off the algae, and then refill it with clean water. And the remaining Fountain block was still about half the original size. I bought 3 packs of the stuff, so after cleaning my fountain, I put a block in each fountain level under the theory of overkill to see if it would keep the algae away for a longer period of time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This is my first fountain, but the store that sold me the fountain told me this Fountain block stuff would keep algae away completely. Well, I guess experiences will vary.

Not at all effective!
I have a large two tiered fountain in my courtyard. I tried hydrogen peroxide because I read in certain amounts it will control algae but not harm the birds. I have also tried apple cider vinegar as it is supposed to add nutrients to the water for the birds to drink and again help control algae. Both products did OK. Not great but OK. I then found this product on Amazon and thought it was the answer to my problems of algae. As you can see from the photo it has not helped at all!The photo is day number 26 of using this product. Also you can see that the block barely dissolved at all after 26 days. I am now having to spend two hours cleaning out the fountain. This product did not work for me! I will probably go back to hydrogen peroxide or apple cider vinegar.

Outstanding Product
I am amazed at how well this product works. The block (size of an ice cube) has lasted for 30 days and is still working. I have tried numerous liquid products and although they work, they do not last very long. I highly recommend this product and will definitely buy again.
