Got these for FIL for Christmas and he loved it. Great value for what you get. It’s a nice collection. Can’t wait for family movie night to watch some of these. It’s the perfect gift for the Alfred Hitchcock fan in your life!

Without a doubt this collection leaves out a good many masterpieces, but it gathers, in one fell swoop, 13 films from the last four decades of Hitchcock's career. Even the most dated show Hitchcock's brilliant irreverence, his "what can go wrong goes wrong", his Hollywood Stars entangled in a nest of the most talented supporting casts around. The 14th tape contains four episodes from the TV show "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", each of which includes a toungue-in-cheek introduction by Hitchcock himself. One of the episodes is the wry "Lamb to the Slaughter", screenplay by Roald Dahl. The quality of the tapes is quite good. I bought my set new and indeed the shrink wrap showed a sticker marked $179.99 although I paid much less. Wait around for a price friendly to you.

Update*** Dial M For Murder does have 3D on the case, however I discovered that the disk has two format options for viewing. One is 3D and the other is 2D. Once the disk is inserted press OK to view the movie in 2D. It would be helpful if the product information stated this so as to not confuse people. I did update my rating for this movie collection. I purchased this because it had the movies I wanted and the price was good. I did not realize until I opened the package that Dial M for Murder is 3D and would not play on my 4K blu-ray player. I wish the description had mentioned this. So far I watched North by Northwest, and found the picture quality is excellent. If you do not have a 3D player or HDTV, skip this collection.

Some of these are silent movies, some are so British sounding that you can't understand a word being said--The Lady Vanishes is the first movie well, it did along with the tape, right in the garbage would not subject anyone else to this sorry mess.

It would be a full 5-stars if it included some of his silents. It is still an excellent collection of a master-filmmaker whose directorial work spanned 5 decades, from 1922 to 1976. Until Criterion comes out with a full collection of the master's works, Hitchcock fans can start with this!

Das man für weniger als einen 10er bei 5 Filmen nicht all zu viel erwarten darf ist wohl klar. Die Bildqualität der meisten Filme ist ziemlich verwaschen und der Ton dem Alter entsprechend dumpf. Was aber gar nicht geht, ist dass man bei "Der Weltmeister" -einem Stummfilm- die Zwischentitel entfernt und den Film tatsächlich synchronisiert hat. Und das obwohl in der Beschreibung sogar zweimal steht, dass in der Box ein Stummfilm ist.
