Plug and play coax to ethernet adapter
The Actiontec/TiVo coaxial to ethernet adapter is a super-economical way to turn your existing coax lines into ethernet cables. First off, you probably need two of these: one "encodes" the data onto the coax line, and at the other end the second one "decodes" the data from coax to ethernet. Here's how useful these adapters are for me. I have a rental cottage 300 feet behind my house. When I put a new water line in back in 1999, I laid a direct burial coax line in the trench, thinking I could deliver cable TV to the cottage. However, fast-forward to 2021 and what I REALLY want is a buried ethernet line back to the cottage. Voila! Put one of these Actiontec adapters on one end of the old coax line and the second one on the other end and you have converted an existing buried coax line into a FAST ethernet line!Don't think of these adapters as having anything to do with TV: they are adapters. Sure, they work well with cable TV signals too, but that is irrelevant for me. There are SO MANY houses completely wired with coaxial cable--even with ports built into the walls. Don't let those old coax lines go to waste, fire them up with high speed internet!

Spotty wifi solved using home coax cabling!
Try these if your home is like mine, coax wire to a room where wifi isn't so good, like my home office! My home has VZN Fios but was wired with coax for cable. With four at home on video calls or watching 4K video, so so wifi wasn't working well enough. These allowed me to connect my work computer and big telly via ethernet cable to my Fios modem/router. Problem solved. For more how this works info, go to youtube and search for MOCA adapter. For me,1. Work laptop. Modem/router to MOCA adapter to coax cable system in closet out to coax cable plug in home office coax out to MOCA adapter to ethernet cord to laptop.2. Big telly. Same as above but to family room coax out to MOCA adapter to ethernet to telly. No more loading or stuttering or stopping in the middle of a movie. Higher resolution ensured.Sounds more complicated than it is. A good DIY project. But watch a video as the instructions were not 100% clear.

Definitely worth the price.
3 story home, and have cat 6 running to the basement, was just not sure where to run to the attic apartment. Came across these, decided to give it a shot ( I was a bit skeptical after feeling a bit burned from powerline, which was great when it worked, but far too often would drop and have to be unplugged and plugged back in.) Thankfully the Xifinity guys labeled the coax in the basement splitter. Pulled the one labeled "attic" ran the simple test I discovered on Youtube to use a Multimeter and some foil to trace a coax line. Verified it was the correct line. Plugged these into both ends, plugged in ethernet cables, and BOOM!!!! it was working as easy as that. Definitely better than plan B, running some exterior grade up the wall in a ductless ac cover. (The Xfinity is supposed to support Moca, so eventually I will see how easy it is to jump into the coax right off the back of the modem, so I can have the whole house coax ready to run.)

Worth every penny!
Like a lot of I have to work from home(thankful, however I still get to work) and my office is in the finished basement where wifi signal is ok and thtere is no ethernet lines for hardwired internet connection. Upgraded to Xfinity 1 GIG service along with buying my own cable modem & wifi router. Modem is Surfbaord SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1, router is Netgear AC1750. With wifi I was getting mid 400's down & mid 20's up, but pretty unstable. Finally bit the bullet & decided to go MoCA. Bottom line is I wish I did back in March. Adatper setup was very easy, like 15 minutes easy. Now I'm getting very stable mid 800's down & mid 40's up. Will be getting 2 more for our smart TV's that use wifi. This will free up the my wifi network for our phones, tablets, laptops & other devices. Can't beat these Adapters at this price for the performace.

DO NOT BUY unless you hate money
Should’ve learned by now that TiVo is not here to help, but rather to try and satiate it’s gluttony. They require you to buy if not theirs but a second adapter for the signal this one takes. How convenient that they happen to sell that exact item but not as a pack for a discounted price, but rather two separate full price items. DO NOT BUY, look for a different option.

Check the speed rating of your MOCA adaptor when upgrading the speed of your network...
Works!Several service calls to TIVO and several on-site service calls with Xfinity failed to get my new cable installation working. After listening/watching them scratch their heads over several weeks of visits to my home without a resolution, I decided to DIY. I figured my situation could not get any worse. It took me less than an hour to figure out that my MOCA network that had been working fine with FIOS would not work with Xfinity because my MOCA adaptor had a speed ceiling of less than 300MB. When I went to Xfinity Gigabyte speed neither TIVO or Xfinity asked about the MOCA adaptor as they diagnosed my situation.Note: be sure you check the speed rating of your MOCA adaptor when upgrading your cable service to a hgher speed. After 10+ years running MOCA on FIOS, it never occurred to me that I would need to upgrade my adaptor for Gigabyte service with Xfinity.
