Great piece of kit
I don't often write reviews but am so impressed with this I thought I should. Perhaps not quite a rigid as some other slightly larger travel tripods when all the legs are extended but not far off. it makes up for this in portability and fast easy set up. The lower last stage of the legs are a bit thin but it keeps the overall package size tiny. But it is generally very rigid. I was concerned that the centre column was a bit thin but in fact it is very stiff and is fine. I guess if I was a pro at the top of a snowy mountain in gale I might want something more substantial. But I doubt I will ever be doing that and even then it might be fine ! But if I was a pro I guess I would be hauling around more gear and lenses etc so a small tripod might not be an issue. For an enthusiast traveling light its perfect in my opinion. If I was a pro I would have a second larger tripod for more critical work, but for my purposes and everyday stuff it is petfect. Because of its size I will always bring it with me now or at least leave it under the car seat, where as I would tend to leave bulkier travel tripods at home. Have done long exposures and its fine. In conclusion its a lovely piece of kit which I love. I think it is very well thought out and a pleasure to own and use. Very simple head to use once you have practiced a while. It has limitations compared to a traditional ball head but I find I can work round this. There is no pan so not so suitable for video, but you could add a cheap small round panning unit with arca swiss on top and bottom to keep in your bag in case you need it. I have noticed that for product photography when you need the camera pointing straight down its hard to get the camera perfectly vertical, so I think I will buy a small AS Pan head for about £25 to clip on top of the Peak Design head for this kind of work. The phone clip I thought was a bit of a gimmick, but having said that its good for Facetime or Skype etc, when you dont want to hold the phone. I would have preferred to have seen the wrench tool hidden in the lower centre column ( but it doesn't fit there) or it would be good if it was more securely fitted. The wrench is OK clipped into the leg but can easily be knocked out and lost, I have attached a thin cord to so it wont get lost. Reviews have mentioned that to remove the lower centre column for low level work with the supplied wrench takes a while and is fiddly, but I find it fast and simple once you get the hang of it. The wrench is well made and handy but a bit harder to use while its attached to my cord. I will probably try to find a cord with a clip so it can be detached when needed. Using it with Sony A7III and 24-105 f4. Have also used same camera / lens with addition of 360 rig Nodal Ninja 3 mk III. I previously had a Gitzo series one Traveller, the Gitzo is very nice, legs are stiffer and is a similar weight but its much bulkier when folded down, it is also more long winded to deploy with its folding design. Update after 6 months: I now take it everywhere as it fits nicely in the outside water bottle pouch in my sling bag, with the help of an elastic strap on the top of the bag. I keep a small arca swiss pan head in the bag for occasional use. It a pleasure to use , having got used to it now.

Another beautiful product from Peak Design
I find PD products a little like Apple products; addictive to buy and expensive, but beautifully made! This tripod is expensive but made to a really high quality. It’s lightweight, compared with similar-sized tripods, and incredibly compact when closed down. I’ve owned cheap, similar-sized tripods before and they don’t compare. What I especially love is the quick-release from the head, and also the ball-and-socket joint that the camera fixes to. Previously I’ve found I will compose an image with other tripods, and when I let go of the camera it moves very slightly meaning the image is a couple of degrees off. Not a big deal, but with this tripod tightening the head and letting go of the camera leads to no movement of the camera whatsoever. Even with a Sony A7iii + 24-70mm lens attached. The phone grip hidden in the centre column is also incredibly useful and a great addition. If money isn’t an issue, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality tripod.

Virtualfoto are awesome and so is this Tripod.
Great tripod that’s been really well thought out. Instead of sticking with the same old Peak Design has pushed the boundaries and produced something that’s a stand out product. Very expensive when compared to other Carbon fibre travel tripods but that’s expected when you look at Peak Design in general. They produce designer, high end photography equipment. Virtualfoto are an awesome seller too and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Don’t be put off by them being in Italy, I ordered and received the Tripod within 2 days and that’s during the pandemic, they’re great.

Lightweight and great functionality
This was a big upgrade from the bulky, heavy tripod I used to use. This is incredibly lightweight and perfect for moving around with. It's multi-use in my household: my husband takes it out with his Fujifilm XT4 for landscape photography, and I use it at home with my Google Pixel 6 for taking photos for my art social media. I love the little hidden phone clamp!

Just buy it!
Expensive but worth every pound! Light, brilliant quality, well thought out, sturdy and I trust it with my expensive gear!

Not that steady, no panorama, awkward to use, poor build quality
This tripod rated above 10 kilos weight capacity but can’t hold my Canon camera steady. The camera always moves down after tightening the tripod’s head. There’s no panorama option, the ball head goes all directions. Also this tripod requires lots of fiddling and easy scratchable. I ended up using my befree Manfrotto must of the time, which is more steady despite rated 2.9 kilo for weight limit. Peak design is a ripoff product.

Good product
Will not recommend for professional photographers with telephoto lens as not stable enough ( vibrations affecting sharp captures) at fully extended height. Compact size make it easy to carry

Carbon-fibre Masterpiece.
This exquisitely designed, beautifully engineered piece of kit has to be the best travel tripod on the planet. Expensive? Sure, but hey, you get what you pay for. If you want to save a few pounds, buy an inferior model, but if you want the best, it has to be this carbon-fibre masterpiece by Peak Design. 'Nuff said 😉
