It's on the opposite spectrum because I find the merkur 34 c to be a bit mild but it's great to use after a couple shaves with the chieftain, yeah but I wouldn't recommend it as a daily driver , mix it up with some viking blade adjustables **Q: does anyone know where these are made?** A: I just purchased mine. As of 2020, this model Chieftan is different from the BAILI bd179. It's 10 grams heavier, has a thicker base plate, and has 4 lather holes on each side rather than 2 oblong ones.
