Question 1

Is there a HEAT adjuster somewhere on this?
As this machine does NOT pop our corn very well. Popped corn is small, NOT fluffy-like our Presto air pop

I've had 2 of these poppers. Prior suggestions are correct. Here's a summary of what I've found to work the best. 1. Coconut Oil 2. Preheat oil...I've never needed 5 minutes to heat it sufficiently. Usually within 2-3 minutes, but I wait until the coconut oil starts to snap. 3. Perhaps the most important....keep the kernels dry. I use a sealed storage container and vacate as much air as possible. Finally, I like various popcorn, but the mushroom seems to do best in this popper.....at least for me.

I just got mine and the light blub is broken..How do I get another one??

More than liklely, this is a heat lamp bulb. You can get one at any home improvement store. It is the same type bulb used in bathroom ceiling heat fans that have heat lamp lights. They can put off some considerable heat, so keep this in mind and buy a lower temperature bulb. It is not a fluorescent or led bulb, which produce no heat. At least, consider an older style incandescent 100 watt bulb. It might put out enough heat to keep your corn warm.

Can you use over-the-counter popcorn kernels and oil or do you have to use the ones they sell?

I have had the machine for about 4 or 5 months and use it often (3-4 days per week multiple times) in my office at a university. We use off the shelf popcorn and oil and everyone loves it no matter what we use. I use generic no name popcorn and plain old canola oil. I've use Reese's popping corn oil and it doesn't make it better, same thing with organic popcorn... no difference. SO use over-the-counter popcorn white or yellow and any vegetable oil.

is the top covered or is it open and you can see the switches?
