I'll preface with everyone's skin issues are different and unique. I've been plagued with rashes in many areas including my scalp, neck, etc. Dermatologist visit(s) recommended a variety of strong steroid ointments and a wet solution for my scalp. Stay away from all scented cleansers, perfumes - the usual drill. I wasn't inclined to smother my body in steroids. I'd come across Derma E Scalp Relief at the grocery store & thought it was worth giving a try. All scalp issues, burning and flaking disappeared. I'd go back to my old favorite products and the irritation returned so here I am using this product again, courtesy of Amazon. NOTE: Many have complained about the hard plastic containers. True statement - they are difficult to squeeze product out of. I opt to unscrew the lid, squeeze shampoo/conditioner on to my leg, recap, wipe product from leg and use. TMI but it works. Suggestion: Also keep containers upside down in your shower/bath!

I developed psoriasis this year (so. much. fun.) and I was in need of a shampoo that met several criteria: relieve my miserable, itchy scalp, clean my hair well (I have 2B curly hair), and be free of sulfates, phthalates, parabens, silicone, and other harmful substances. This shampoo is great! It’s all of those things. It helps relieve my scalp, cleans and refreshes it, and it leaves my hair sooooo soft and clean. The bottle IS hard and a challenge to squeeze, but I just unscrew the cap and pour it into my hand. Voila! I also enjoy the scent. It can be slightly drying, so after I shampoo with it, I use a rich conditioner made for naturally curly hair and my hair feels like a million bucks. Highly recommend. Try this stuff. You won’t be sorry.

I have thick-ish wavy hair, Oily scalp with some dandruff & seborrheic dermatitis around the base of my head. This shampoo helps the itch from the dermatitis initially, but does not make it go away altogether. It makes my hair feel clean but too soft (so it ends up being flat). Does not help with the oily scalp. Lathers ok, smells good, and yes, the bottle is terrible so it's easier to either pour it into your hand or just swap out the bottle. All in all, it's a nice shampoo but since it doesn't help my oily scalp, makes my hair too flat & doesn't get rid of the dermatitis itch I have to keep searching (and I have tried A LOT of shampoos!)

Clarifying shampoo. Clean, soft hair. Very nice for dry winter hair. I use lots of product on my fine hair and it leaves my hair dry and not feeling clean. This shampoo is the bomb! Cleans scalp and removes residue. Bottle top doesn't work to squeeze as the bottle is ard ti squeeze. I just unscrew the lid and pour out the shampoo.

Finally, a product that relieves my itchy scalp! Pros: ~fresh scent of mint and tea tree oil ~tingly clean scalp and hair ~soothes the itch due to summer heat and sweat ~leaves my silver hair very clean and easy to style ~very economical! Only a very small amount the size of pea for my thick shoulder length hair produces a copious amount of thick frothy suds!!! Cons: ~astringent cleaning leaves my hair a little tangled but a small bit of conditioner takes care of that. Again, my hair, when dry, is fresh and clean and easy to style. ~the bottles pop-open top is hidden. I had to put a mark on it to find it easily.

Hands down, this is the BEST shampoo and conditioner I have used for my sensitive scalp. I suffer from occipital neuralgia and have tried various products that do not compare to this brand. It soothes instead of irritates. I look forward to washing my hair and getting the relief that both the shampoo and conditioner provide. The plastic bottle is hard to squeeze. I have a difficult time getting the thick conditioner out, even when I add water to dilute it. I do wish they would use a container that is more issuer friendly.

I love this conditioner but, boy is the new bottle a no-go. I’ve been using it for 3-4 years and used to buy it at Whole Foods. After they changed to the terribly inflexible bottle, I tried a few other conditioners and shampoos, but I’m coming back to the Derma-E. This is great for an itchy scalp. I have some kind of scalp acne that the standard dandruff conditioner doesn’t fix. I settled on this, but stopped using it because I have either RSI or arthritis in my thumb and the new hard unsqueezable bottle causes thumb pain when I try to squeeze product out. I’d already had to modify my use of this very thick conditioner (before the bottle design got ruined) by storing it upside down — to avoid having to thrash it around to get the product to the dispenser. But that caused mold in the cap from standing water, so now I use packing tape to make the cap water-tight so I can store it upside down. I realized that all of these machinations to get a conditioner to come out of its container were driving me a bit batty. New solution: I’ve ordered a Nalgene LDPE bottle with dispenser cap so that I can decant the conditioner into a usable bottle. I can’t believe I’m going through all of that for a conditioner, but here we are. I wish Derma-E would listen to the customer comments and fix the bottle. But until then, I’ll be doing my weird workaround to be able to use the product. It would be five stars if I could reliably and painlessly use it as it comes. On top of all this, when I ordered a new bottle this week, it was placed in the box WITHOUT A CAP. It wasn’t broken off or somehow unscrewed in the box. It was fully without a cap. I used to not add shipping problems to reviews because those aren’t about the product, but when Amazon is selling and packaging the product, they need to do better to earn the stars. They’re replacing the bottle, but what a wasteful experience.

So let me first say that i'm not a fan of the Derm-e line, i've used many other products from them with bad results, but I gotta give them credit for this one, this is a good shampoo. I have extremely sensitive skin and dry scalp, this shampoo did not irritate my scalp at all, when my hair dried off there was no itch, that's not the case with most shampoos I use, great for reactive, sensitive , dry scalp, didn't feel the tingling on the scalp like some of the other reviews I read but regardless it worked, no itching, it will be my winter shampoo and conditioning line, it is slightly drying so you will need to follow up with a good conditioner, i used the derma-e line as well and the conditioner is also good, no complaints

After a week of use.

I have a very itchy scalp from seborrheic dermatitis and have found no relief. I read the reviews for this product and thought I would give it a try and I am so glad I did! It cools your scalp when you use it (almost like the hot/cold sensation you get from vapor rub) and I found a lot of relief in that alone, but when I stepped out of the shower I couldn't believe the flakes were gone. Even after blow drying. I will definitely be grabbing another bottle of this soon!

It's made my hair look nice!

After suffering from itchy scalp and dandruff for over 10 years, I’ve used many various forms of shampoos and conditioners. None really helped and only dried out my scalp, stripped them of any natural oils/nutrients. Usually use T Gel 2-in-1 but that alone was half the battle. After reading many reviews I decided to purchase this conditioner. Delivered and used today, it certainly made a difference when used in conjunction with T Gel. A small amount goes a long way and you can feel the tea tree and menthol work within 10 seconds, the intense tingling sensation was powerful but a delight on the scalp. (Wait the recommended time 3-5 minutes after massage). After a rinse and pat dry, my head feels refreshed and not too tight, no irritation or itching. Passing my hand through revealed almost little to no flakes at all. Hopefully my scalp will be 10/10 (for once!) within the 7 days as advertised. Also good to note I used a silicon scalp massager in the shower, just to loosen any flakes/stubborn patches.
