I do not see it in the specifications.** A: OK so let me start by saying nowhere on the package does it give a duty rating. With that being said, I have been quite impressed with the quality of this item. It's heavy duty and functions very smoothly. I have this on an outside wrought iron gate that ways about 200 Lbs. And it locks on when the exterior lights come on and off when the lights go off. It has been operating at an apartment complex in the San Francisco Bay area for just over a year now and has not had a single issue. The latch is fully exposed to the elements as well as the salt air from the bay. I would feel comfortable installing this on a door or gate where it is locked 24/7. I wired mine with the magnet up on top of door to have both locked with 12v applied, made door more solid when yanking on it. I plugged the controller into a battery UPS like you use on your computer to keep power during outages.
