This is one of the best cold blue that I have used. It covers very well and gives a good slick bluing. It works best when the part is decreased and warmed up a little. Follow the instructions and do not get in a hurry and you will be pleased with the results.

I typically use Birchwood Perma Blue but thought I’d try this. I regret my decision. Not sure if I got an old bottle or what, but it definitely wasn’t a cream. It was basically one giant hard pellet (when I shook the bottle, I could hear it thudding around in there). I tried to dig some out and applied it the best I could — no color change at all. I wiped the residue off, applied Perma Blue to the same piece and voila! I would have just returned the item and left it at that, but apparently it’s not eligible for return so I’m out $17 and thought I should warn others. I only have it 2 stars (instead of 1) because it’s made in the USA and I’m hoping this was just a bad bottle.

This was recommended to my by a gunsmith who used many products .& said this was the best. Barrel must be decreased of all oil and use chem resistant gloves to keep your oily hand prints off the metal.

My favorite cold bluing. High quality. Replacing my birchwood-Casey stuff.
