MUST HAVE FOR ANY ARTIST that draw, paints animals. In order to get perspective correct and the dimensions of an animal you must understand the skeletal make up of the animal. Then how the muscles lie in order to create the proper shading. And off course how these change in each position. A lot of artists do not study the anatomy of an animal, but I can tell you that is what makes an artist that draws or paints animals from good to great! I am an artist and found this book exceptional in order to draw animals. It has basic techniques that are easy to do and remember. I just bought this book for my grandson who is 24, but interested in drawing. It's not the most recent book, but it works well.

Such a lovely book! Even if you're not very interested in art, but love animals, it has beautiful drawings and animal facts. For artists, it's a treasure! Pointers on individual categories of animals, skeletal and muscle reviews and drawings, and shape sketches to get you going. There's not a wasted page in this book. Five stars, highly recommend, I've worn out one copy and bought another.

Would have loved more animals. Ones displayed are well done with excellent instructions.

Good gift for older children, young teens, or artistically inclined younger children. It helps develop their visual arts skills and can keep them focused in a way video games will not.

Great reference book for drawing animals with tips on anatomy and poses great for beginner to intermediate.

This is a great book, lots of pictures to have a go at, good sized pictures, which helps, information on putting in the details. Nicely laid out,with mixed materials information. I would recommend. I have had the book for some time before writting this, and still use it regularly, both for doodling and putting animal in paintings.

Nice book, bought it for using as an aid to making needle felted animals, realistic drawings.
