Seagate is a trusted brand for me.
This came in a custom box that was made to protect the drive during transit. I have been using the drive now for a few months and it's running error free so far. It just clipped into the cradle of my NAS and works well if a little on the noisy side. Not a real issue for me as my NAS is in the hallway next to my router and you only ever hear it when you are passing through. I use it for my Time Machine back ups of my MacBook, super simple and works works well. The large capacity means I can use it as a personal drive as well as storage to back up my Apple TV purchases as they can sometimes disappear from the service when the copyright holders remove the movie or swap it out for a 4K version that you need to re-buy. The point being there is a lot this drive can handle. I got this drive on the amazon 5 easy payments plan, that made this drive affordable to me as the option to pay over time is a great feature of Amazon when it's available. Makes it more affordable with smaller monthly payments. I trust the seagate brand as I have purchased their drives in the past and they always work well so only time will tell but I hope this drive is just as reliable as the others I purchased in the past.

Good so far
Bought two of these for backup purposes. They have been smooth and remarkably quiet to date. Hopefully they will also be reliable in the long term.

Faulty Nas Drive cost me money
I was sent a defective drive ( which lost me a ยฃ3000 contract, because I didn't have enough space on my nas ). I won't be buying anything from Seagate again.

Excellent
Bought to replace Ironwolf 4tb drivers. These are much faster than the 4tb drives but also noisier as many other reviews note.

Excelente disco HDD, precio/calidad 10/10

So far so good!
Bought this HDD after seeing a flash deal. I installed it into a DAS array and everything works beautifully. Will definitely purchase it again.

Impressed at multi write speed.
What blew me away with this was I was able to transfer 4 different SD cards (Video footage) at the same time and it took them all at close to 90mbps each... which was the max of my SD cards. My other drives all would have slowed down but for some reason these seem to keep up?! Maybe being a 12TB is has a few read/write arms... I have no friggin idea how they work but its damn good. I paid $330 each, shop around.

Great Performance and Capacity, But Noticeable Noise Under Load
I recently put these Seagate IronWolf 12TB drives into my system after having them in storage for a while, and overall, they've been performing very well. The speeds are solid, and they handle data transfers smoothly, which is exactly what I was hoping for from NAS-class drives. So far, reliability and performance have met my expectations. That said, they can be a bit noisy when actively reading or writing. At idle, they're nearly silent, but under load, there is definitely noticeable drive chatter. I have my machine sitting right on my desk, so the sound is more apparent than it might be in a closet, rack, or separate room. If your system is close to where you work and you're sensitive to noise, you may want to consider that or plan on using good noise-canceling headphones. Overall, they're a great set of high-capacity drives with strong performance, just keep the noise factor in mind depending on your setup.
