So I've sharpened a knife in my life but after watching a Brad Leone video I realised the error in my ways.Took a punt of this, it was dispatched and delivered in under 24 hours.Box arrived well packed with contents as described, it all fits together and the nonstick pad works as long as the surface isn't soacked.Only downside however is that the honing stone arrived broken.So I've had a first attempt with a cheapie kitchen devil knife armed with this kit (minus the gloves because I'm not going to learn without cutting myself along the way learning from my mistakes).And after an hour of going through all 4 grits I've been able to take a knife that frankly couldn't cut a piece of paper to one that can slide cut.So all in all the set works if a novice like me can sharpen up a knife I'm sure someone more competent can achieve better results.

I did a LOT of research before choosing this combo. This package has everything you need. Took a blunt knife that would slice through hot butter and an hour later sharp as a tack. It is a bit of a messy process so I'd recommend an old towel underneath and a little pot of water to apply during the process. YouTube has plenty of instructional video's. I found 50 'strokes' to each side of the blade was about right and used each of the four blocks. Its kinda therapeutic ! Definitely value for money

Always sharpened by hand, but my old oil stone was getting a bit long in the tooth. These are great.

They are really nice stones but I can think of quicker ways to sharpen your knives

Does what it says and makes blunt knives sharp
