G1s RGB Video Light Review: Elevating my Content Creation Game
Hey there, fellow content creators! I wanted to share my experience with the G1s RGB Video Light because I am so impressed with it. As someone who's been creating videos and photos for a while now, I've used my fair share of lighting equipment, but this one definitely stands out. First off, the customization options with the G1s RGB Video Light are incredible. It has 12 common light effects and a full spectrum of color options, so I can easily match the lighting to the mood I want to convey in my videos. Plus, with a CRI of ≥97, it produces vivid and accurate colors that really make my footage pop. But what really sold me on the G1s RGB Video Light is how convenient it is. The built-in rechargeable battery lasts a long time, so I don't have to worry about constantly replacing batteries or finding an outlet. Plus, the aluminum alloy body makes it easy to hold and transport, even when I'm on the go. When it comes to performance, the G1s RGB Video Light definitely delivers. It's incredibly bright, even on the lowest setting, and the dimming function is smooth and precise. And the built-in temperature control system keeps the light from getting too hot, which gives me peace of mind that it won't wear out too quickly. Overall, I would highly recommend the G1s RGB Video Light to any content creators out there. It's versatile, portable, and delivers excellent performance. Plus, the price point is very reasonable for such a high-quality LED camera light. So if you're in the market for a new lighting solution, definitely give the G1s RGB Video Light a try - you won't be disappointed!

I love this portable RGB light! (I want another one!)
I’m really happy with this light. I use it as a fill light, and to add pops of background color in my photography. The only thing I’m upset about is that I don’t own more of them! BRIGHTNESS This thing gets REALLY bright. When it’s on its brightest setting, don’t look directly at it, or you’ll see spots! The controls let you dial the brightness from 0-100. Yeah—that’s not a type-o. You can turn it on, then dial the brightness down to 0—which is effectively “off”—except the unit is still powered on. The light doesn’t get “hot”, but it gets warm when you crank it up to 100. COLORS You can fine tune 360 individual colors using a dial. There’s a handy little rainbow spectrum chart on the back with printed numbers so you know what numbers to dial in for red (360), blue (240), green (120), and yellow (60). CONTROLS The illuminated LCD screen on the back tells you the mode, color, brightness and saturation levels. The mode selector button is between the two dials. The dials don’t spin freely—they “click”. There’s no audible sound—you just feel the click when you turn the dials. The top dial controls brightness. The bottom dial controls things like color, saturation, etc. There’s little buttons in the center of each dial that toggle other settings for that dial. For example, the lower dial controls color (0-359). When you press the toggle, you then control color saturation (0-100). The power button is a (very stiff) recessed slider switch at the top of the light. MODES There’s essentially 3 modes— 1: Basic white light with adjustable the color temperature from yellowish (2500K) all the way up to crisp daylight white (8500K). 2: Color (RGB) mode. Control brightness with the top dial, and RGB colors and saturation with the bottom dial. If “Blue” is a little bit TOO blue for you, just dial down the saturation, and it fades to your liking. 3: Cool tricks, like firelight, lightning, TV flicker, police car red/blue strobes, and more. BATTERY It has a built in, rechargeable battery. My unit lasts around 2-2 ½ hours at full power, a little longer if I tone it down. It takes a 1-2 hours to fully charge. The unit comes with a charging cable—not a brick. So if you don’t already have one, you’ll need a charging brick. BUILD QUALITY This thing is solid. It’s plastic, but feels durable, and has a satisfying “heft” to it. It’s a little bigger than an iPhone SE, and smaller than an iPhone 12 Pro Max (see photos). The LED panel is covered with opaque plastic diffusion material, flush with the bezel. At the bottom of the unit is a rotatable metal arm with three ¼-twenty holes, and one hotshoe mount. I actually love this little arm—I use it as a kickstand, to position it vertically at a slight angle. CONCLUSION This is THE light to get at this price point. I actually plan to buy another one. Lower priced units don’t have as many LED bulbs (translation—they’re not as bright), and I couldn’t see how I'd benefit from higher priced brands. The only real gripe I have with this light is the sliding power switch. It’s stiff—you really have to mean it when you power it on and off. It’s recessed into the housing, making it fiddly to slide back and forth. I generally need to use two hands when powering on and off. I easily recommend this light. 5-stars all the way.

Quality, Versatility, and Value
Like many people who were affected by the pandemic, video calls have become critical to my day-to-day. In my case, the lighting in my home office was insufficient to provide my webcam with consistent, adequate exposure. As the natural light from my windows would shift, my video feed would become too dark or too bright. When I found this LED Light for such a reasonable price, I was thrilled. When I got a chance to experience the product firsthand, I was even happier. QUALITY 1. Robust aluminum enclosure 2. Modern, fast USB-C charging 3. Output to power consumption ratio is excellent, allowing for several hours of usage between charges VERSATILITY 1. Adjustable rotating arm + hot shoe mount means that you can place the light at any angle you can think of 2. Adjustments for any light temperature or color you can imagine 3. Plenty of power to light an entire room, yet dimmable enough to avoid blinding yourself in close-up 4. Exceedingly portable, so you can bring your own lighting with you VALUE 1. Includes everything you need to get started – LED light, USB-C charging cable, swivel hot shoe adapter, and carrying pouch 2. Build quality is excellent, inspiring confidence that this light will last while also surviving accidental spills 3. Warranty is top notch – 12 months by default, with another 6 months added if you register the product, for a total of 18 months Note: Be careful with the hot shoe adapter. The thumbscrew on the top of the adapter is plastic, which can crack if you accidentally over tighten, as I did. Swapping out the hot shoe adapter for an all metal one would be the only change to this product that I would suggest. I highly recommend this LED light for its quality, versatility, and value.

Incredibly effective and flexible little light.
I do a lot of content creation, both for on-line and for real estate - I'm a broker. In addition, I do a lot of Zoom meetings. I got one of these lights because it could do both conference lighting - cool to warm - and RGB lighting. It was so useful, I bought a second one, so I could do key light/fill light work when doing video, as well as multiple color backgrounds, special effects, etc. I like the portability because I do a lot of location video. I now carry two of these and two small tripods. I also have a tripods at my office, so I can set up a full video shoot in a few minutes anywhere I want - a great help! The other day, I realized a new use for it - desk lamp! I'm in a temporary office, and while it's nice, the lighting on my desk isn't the greatest. Normally I don't care - I do most of my work on-line, so light isn't critical. However, I do sometimes need to do things at my desk - small fixes, making notes, etc. I finally realized that I have a great desk light if I need it. I took a picture to show. I do have it plugged in to a charger, just so I don't have to charge it later. Between the color temperature and fine-control dimming, it's perfect. The picture included is with the light at 31% brighness. If I'm doing fine work, I just dial up the brightness, and it's great - shadows are soft, and light is even. For videos, it also works great. The only problem was if I was heavily backlight - like near a window on a sunny day. But I don't want to carry larger panels to overcome that. I fixed it by using two of them - still portable - and with tripods I can get closer and dial the light down, so it doesn't look overwhelming or like a spotlight, but just good even light. They also have great longevity. I've used it for a couple of hours at 50% and there's still loads of battery left. I haven't tried the cold shoe mount when I'm using my larger camera for video, but I know the light and spill - I think it should be more than adequate in that use. So all in all, it covers a lot of ground: portable studio, on-camera lighting, fill and key lighting, overcoming backlighting, special effects and background coloring if I need it, and even a desk lamp. So yeah, I'd highly recommend it. If you need to keep portable lighting that you can adapt to a lot of different situations, these are a great tool to literally have in your bag.

Quality build, very bright
I bought this to enhance lighting for virtual meetings using a Logitech BRIO camera. In the room's current lighting, and with 3 large monitors in my face, my pale skin needs a warmer light source to keep from washing out, even after adjusting manual white balance and exposure controls on the camera. I run this light at 3100K and it works quite well to supplement the ambient light, even if the warmer tone makes my light brown hair look a little red. It is a very well-made unit, and is quite bright. Even on the dimmest level, f it's too close to you, you'll see spots for awhile if you look directly at it. I've mounted it on one of those small Gorilla-pod like tripods with the flexible legs, and set it on my desk underneath my center monitor to shine up towards my face. Controls are solid, and the aluminum casing makes for a rather heavy product. It would actually seem to be quite heavy to mount to a handheld camera. The adjustable mounting base looks useful for photographers although I've not had a need for anything but a tripod mount. I've run it for several meetings during the 4-5 days I've used it, and it's still at 3/5 battery, so battery life seems fine. My only real but minor complaint is that some of the controls are so solid and stiff to manipulate that it can be difficult to adjust while leaving it where it sits. In particular, the power switch on the top is recessed flush with the case and has a barely perceptible textured spot for traction -- this requires a fair amount of force to engage and usually requires 2 hands because the texturing is so slight that you really don't get traction without bearing down and holding the light from moving with the other hand. So I wish it was just a little easier to control quickly with one hand without disturbing it too much otherwise. But for the price and the build quality, these are minor complaints. I recommend this light for the price paid.

Lightweight yet Durable build, Bright light, Solid product!
To start off, I've been using lighting equipment and video cameras for about 10 years now! Im surprised how far technology has come to where this little unit can hold its own to some of my older, bigger studio lights! Right out the box, you may need to charge your unit as I did with mine (it had no juice which isn't a problem) and I charged it via USB C which took about an hour and a half to fully charge. There is a cable included in the packaging but I have plenty of these type C laying around so I used my own. The reason this product was so attractive to me is I was looking for a portable RGB light at the right price. I technically have RGB smart bulbs in the studio but they must be connected to wifi and you have to use a specific app, its a bit much! This light provides that function internally, NO APP NEEDED (thank you very much) and is compact enough that you can take it everywhere and place it anywhere thanks to the built in battery! (For size reference, if you look at the photos I provided, I am holding the unit in my hand and I would say I have an average hand size when compared to most) This light has a range of brightness settings and functions that are easy to maneuver with using the dials on the right side of it and you know exactly what settings your changing with the built it LCD screen. Anywho, I feel this light can be a part of anyone's loadout whether your strictly a photographer or you primarily do video work, or even a combination of the two. I am extremely happy with this unit and maybe be picking up another one in the near future! P.S. I swear I wasn't paid to talk good about this product, I just get excited when I get new gear and this little yet powerful unit performed above and beyond!!

excellent small RGB light—but has a slight issue
Update: I just bought another of these lights—about a year after my original purchase. I’m still very happy with the original lights, but some minor changes have been made with the lights that may affect you. The good: the digital information panel now includes the exact percentage of battery charge remaining (in addition to the old battery symbol with generalized bats that show 25% charge increments). HOWEVER (the bad): the newer variant has more of a built-in diffuser than the older version. Although the better diffuser is probably good (the previous model has a rather limited diffuser), this diffuser noticeably changes the 1) brightness of light, 2) the area lit by the light, and 3) skews the color of the light—compared to what I purchased previously. So, I can’t just dial in the same numbers as the old light and place them side by side to get equivalent results. If you need to exactly match results of the older and newer models, it will be very difficult to do. Nearly all of the reviews of this small RGB light are excellent. The color accuracy is very good, and its quality is comparable (or slightly better) than similar lights that are more expensive. Obviously, larger size lights will produce more light than these, but this light works well for the size. The only improvement I would like, is to have the on/off slider button a little larger (or have a more textured surface). The slider button is fairly flush with the side of the light (and more difficult to move than I would like).... Otherwise, I have two of these lights. The main way I use these is to provide light on my face for Zoom meetings on a computer (mounted on two small backlight stands on my desk with small added diffusers). Note that you may be able to use rubber bands to mount homemade diffusers that can be cut to size--from a one gallon plastic milk bottle.... I like that the adjustable range of daylight colors on the lights, helps to make my face not look too reddish for Zoom meetings. The closer the lights are located to your face, the lower brightness is needed (which allows slightly longer battery life).... When using a white backdrop, it is also possible to colorize the area (with two of these lights) immediately behind a seated speaker, who is located in the foreground. But remember these lights are small (the room will need to be dark to do this--and these background lights will need to be properly separated from the other set of lights oriented on the talking head).

Great light. Worth the price if you plan to film more than your cat on YouTube all day.
I am so glad I upgraded my cart to this light from a more affordable priced light. This one settles so many lighting concerns in one small package. Built with a sturdy design this light is solid! The brightness from just this one light is more than enough for your basic iPhone needs when FaceTiming or shooting YouTube video. I haven’t even had to crank it up past 60%. I may get a few more for more professional lighting situations. It does change color with mutiple settings available from cool and warm light temperatures to red, blue, green and other colors. Strobe effects, screen lighting effects for shooting simulated screen lighting on a monitor. There are blue and red emergency simulated strobe effects for if you need to get the red and blue strobes but can’t afford the police car to light the scene. The weight of this light does mean you want to have a very sturdy selfie stick, but this light was worth every penny. My only complaint is the shoe mounting hardware that came with the light. This light is beefy and not some cheep lightweight toy lamp. So why would you use plastic lightweight parts to trust mounting it on metal shoe and frame fixtures? I’m afraid to mount this too secure to the metal frames I’m using because either I will strip the threading off, or destroy the mount altogether. It comes with a charging cable, tripod mount and a lightweight plastic cold shoe attachment. It has a metal arm attached to the bottom of the light allowing you to mount it and swing the light out for a wider lighting angle. IMHO, I’d buy another to use for a stereo lighting effect to minimize shadows and evenly light close-up scenes. I think it is a good investment if you are serious about getting gear that will stand up to harder daily use. Put it this way, everyone looks at that $20-$25 light and thinks, that should be enough . But if it craps out on you more than 3 times you might as well have started with one of these lights.

Best RGB pocket light
This is one of the best RGB pocket light available in Amazon India. Highly recommended. Product comes witha decent packaging. Very bright and there are many different light modes available. Useful for product photography and macro shots. Battery will easily last for almost 3hrs if you use it in 80% brightness.

Great features. Built solid.
Very pleased with this purchase. The lighting effects work really well and it’s easy to navigate around them. Feels solid, super bright. I use it mainly for portrait photography. I plan to use some of the more unusual features in experimental videos.
