Pixel G1s RGB Video Light with APP Control, 12W 210 Minutes Rechargeable Battery LED Camera Light, 10 Common Lighting Effects, CRI≥97 2500-8500K LED Video Light with Aluminum Alloy Body

I use this light with a webcam for video conferencing and streaming classes from my desk. I don’t use any other lights in the room. If it is dark outside, the rest of the room is not visible to the viewers: they see my face and shoulders suspended against black space. I kind of like the effect. In the daytime, the light from the windows shows the room, but my image in the foreground remains lit exactly the same as at night, with an even, naturally distributed glow. This is what you want if you broadcast from your desk. I placed the light close to the webcam and a little above and behind it, about three feet from my face. This is what this light is meant for. Don’t try to light a room with it! That is not what it is for. The multiple LEDs in this light are spread around over a large enough area so both sides of my face are lit equally. With a smaller lighting surface, you get the shadow of your nose appear on the left or on the right as you move while you speak. With this light that does not happen. Two other features make this a perfect light for my purpose: the brightness knob and the color temperature knob. I can stretch my arm and adjust them without substantially changing my position, even while I speak. Similar adjustments can be made with a webcam settings control panel if you have one. But messing with settings while you speak or listen and think about your content and delivery is impossible. Twisting a physical knob is very easy. The light can be run off its battery, but I connected the charging table to the wall outlet, and it always runs off the AC. The only thing I wish the designers could improve is the on-off switch: it is a slider, small and a little tight, so you really have to hold the light with one hand while using a finger of the other hand to slide the little thing. Not a deal breaker, since I never need to use the switch during the broadcast. But a toggle would be easier to use than a slider.

I usually don’t write reviews but this has been one of my greatest lights I’ve used. I’ve been a photographer for 9 years and it has good battery life and it does stay on the mount well. Its a good size where it doesn’t feel too heavy and overall provides a bit of extra lighting quality. Will be buying another

I do a lot of content creation, both for on-line and for real estate - I'm a broker. In addition, I do a lot of Zoom meetings. I got one of these lights because it could do both conference lighting - cool to warm - and RGB lighting. It was so useful, I bought a second one, so I could do key light/fill light work when doing video, as well as multiple color backgrounds, special effects, etc. I like the portability because I do a lot of location video. I now carry two of these and two small tripods. I also have a tripods at my office, so I can set up a full video shoot in a few minutes anywhere I want - a great help! The other day, I realized a new use for it - desk lamp! I'm in a temporary office, and while it's nice, the lighting on my desk isn't the greatest. Normally I don't care - I do most of my work on-line, so light isn't critical. However, I do sometimes need to do things at my desk - small fixes, making notes, etc. I finally realized that I have a great desk light if I need it. I took a picture to show. I do have it plugged in to a charger, just so I don't have to charge it later. Between the color temperature and fine-control dimming, it's perfect. The picture included is with the light at 31% brighness. If I'm doing fine work, I just dial up the brightness, and it's great - shadows are soft, and light is even. For videos, it also works great. The only problem was if I was heavily backlight - like near a window on a sunny day. But I don't want to carry larger panels to overcome that. I fixed it by using two of them - still portable - and with tripods I can get closer and dial the light down, so it doesn't look overwhelming or like a spotlight, but just good even light. They also have great longevity. I've used it for a couple of hours at 50% and there's still loads of battery left. I haven't tried the cold shoe mount when I'm using my larger camera for video, but I know the light and spill - I think it should be more than adequate in that use. So all in all, it covers a lot of ground: portable studio, on-camera lighting, fill and key lighting, overcoming backlighting, special effects and background coloring if I need it, and even a desk lamp. So yeah, I'd highly recommend it. If you need to keep portable lighting that you can adapt to a lot of different situations, these are a great tool to literally have in your bag.

I’m really happy with this light. I use it as a fill light, and to add pops of background color in my photography. The only thing I’m upset about is that I don’t own more of them! BRIGHTNESS This thing gets REALLY bright. When it’s on its brightest setting, don’t look directly at it, or you’ll see spots! The controls let you dial the brightness from 0-100. Yeah—that’s not a type-o. You can turn it on, then dial the brightness down to 0—which is effectively “off”—except the unit is still powered on. The light doesn’t get “hot”, but it gets warm when you crank it up to 100. COLORS You can fine tune 360 individual colors using a dial. There’s a handy little rainbow spectrum chart on the back with printed numbers so you know what numbers to dial in for red (360), blue (240), green (120), and yellow (60). CONTROLS The illuminated LCD screen on the back tells you the mode, color, brightness and saturation levels. The mode selector button is between the two dials. The dials don’t spin freely—they “click”. There’s no audible sound—you just feel the click when you turn the dials. The top dial controls brightness. The bottom dial controls things like color, saturation, etc. There’s little buttons in the center of each dial that toggle other settings for that dial. For example, the lower dial controls color (0-359). When you press the toggle, you then control color saturation (0-100). The power button is a (very stiff) recessed slider switch at the top of the light. MODES There’s essentially 3 modes— 1: Basic white light with adjustable the color temperature from yellowish (2500K) all the way up to crisp daylight white (8500K). 2: Color (RGB) mode. Control brightness with the top dial, and RGB colors and saturation with the bottom dial. If “Blue” is a little bit TOO blue for you, just dial down the saturation, and it fades to your liking. 3: Cool tricks, like firelight, lightning, TV flicker, police car red/blue strobes, and more. BATTERY It has a built in, rechargeable battery. My unit lasts around 2-2 ½ hours at full power, a little longer if I tone it down. It takes a 1-2 hours to fully charge. The unit comes with a charging cable—not a brick. So if you don’t already have one, you’ll need a charging brick. BUILD QUALITY This thing is solid. It’s plastic, but feels durable, and has a satisfying “heft” to it. It’s a little bigger than an iPhone SE, and smaller than an iPhone 12 Pro Max (see photos). The LED panel is covered with opaque plastic diffusion material, flush with the bezel. At the bottom of the unit is a rotatable metal arm with three ¼-twenty holes, and one hotshoe mount. I actually love this little arm—I use it as a kickstand, to position it vertically at a slight angle. CONCLUSION This is THE light to get at this price point. I actually plan to buy another one. Lower priced units don’t have as many LED bulbs (translation—they’re not as bright), and I couldn’t see how I'd benefit from higher priced brands. The only real gripe I have with this light is the sliding power switch. It’s stiff—you really have to mean it when you power it on and off. It’s recessed into the housing, making it fiddly to slide back and forth. I generally need to use two hands when powering on and off. I easily recommend this light. 5-stars all the way.

I'll be brief. 5 ft between this light panel and object, 3300K, full brightness (100%), indoor light conditions can reduce ISO from 4000 to 3000 on Canon 5D Mark III + Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 (at 1/160 and f2.8 stop). 50% brightness helps especially if you making a video with close distance to object. The Bracket shifts the light panel aside and helps a bit for your model not to go blind while looking at your camera. Light is very bright if to look at it directly. Also the light panel bracket may be used as a support to hold this light panel on desk. Light panel helps for better focusing when you filming. Works indoor under low light conditions, also helps with outdoor shooting while you take portrait picture at night with Ambien light from lit up buildings with let's say Tamron 35mm f/1.8 VC lens at 5 feet away at 1/15 and f1.8 at. It worked for me in Disneyland in front of the castle, 10 ft away form object/ person at night with shutter 1/50 and Tamron 35mm (Prime lens) f1.8, ISO 800. Light brightness 100%. I prefer this light instead of flash to keep background lights and natural colors of objects, like green leaves, grass flowers. Of course a picture taken with Bouncing flash will look better indoor, except if you want to see Christmas tree lights on picture. So. If you plan to take your picture with wide lens (like 24-70mm for FF) and stay close to your object this panel light would help. I like the fact that this light doesn't mess up with camera color grade as flash would do. I'll keep it for low light situations like Christmas lights decoration to preserve natural Christmas tree color and it's lights and be able to illuminate person on foreground. You need to change your camera AWB to light bulb. I don't need built in flashing "discotec features" in this panel. So for just a light panel the price is seems too high. As for battery life, I didn't have a chance to fully discharge it, but it seems that it holds charge well, however charging from 17% to 90%, took over 3 hours.

The G1s is compact, has a reasonable battery life, and is powerful in terms of build quality and performance. The first thing I noticed about the G1s upon picking it up is the premium heft and finish it bears. It won't need much babying. The 3 buttons, 2 rings, and power-on switch present okay quality. The maneuverable hinge is strong and has 4 precise cutouts- 3 for mounting and 1 for charging via USB Type C. The display uses icons that are easy to understand and it has a good brightness balance. I've been using the G1s at 60% brightness and I'm finding that the battery lasts about 2 hours. Because the G1s is modest in size and is charged by Type C, the battery life is acceptable. The LEDs are bona fide. I find myself not wanting to go past 60% brightness because of how dominating the light source is. After doing tons of research on which RGB light on the market would fit my needs (hybrid photo/video) without breaking the bank, I came across this beauty. I was skeptical at first, considering it is almost half the price of the Boling equivalent. However, after testing the light, I'm astounded. The build quality is solid. The user interface is incredibly intuitive, never once had to look at the manual to figure out how the thing works. As well, the light has so many more options than anything else out there for the price point, it's kinda unbelievableable. Now Its one thing to have RGB, but to provide saturation control and 360 degrees of color is just unheard of for under $100. Additionally, the CRI it very accurate on this product, and adjusting the Kelvin value is as simple as turning the knob. The G1s also came with additional hardware so i could attach the light In any configuration imaginable. The extra provided mini ball head is a nice touch, considering I purchased one last month for $15 on it's own, and pixel just throws that in with the light, what a steal! And to top it off, the unit was already fully charged when I got It in the mail! If I could find one thing I would change about the light (albeit a minuscule gripe) I would like it to turn on in the same mode it was powered off in, although this is by no means a deal breaker. With all things considered, I'm highly satisfied with my purchase and very impressed. I will indeed be purchasing a 2nd G1s to add to my arsenal! Highly recommended!

Small but mighty, easy to adjust, and super high quality light. I love that there are a ton of fun effects, and it lasts forever. The light is slightly diffused, and the colors are rich.
