Double Lucky π
This book has a portraiture and fur lesson. I have been desiring to master both of these. The portraiture uses Prismacolor Premier Pencils. The cat uses FC Polychromos ( no conversion chart to Prismacolor) . The limited palette used for the cat is easy enough to make the substitutions with Prismacolor Premier Pencils . With the terrific instructions, illustrations, and line drawings , my confidence is reinforced. Looking forward to level 3.

Loved it!
Excellent instruction book! I have always been intimidated to color my Portrait coloring books. I followed the step-by-step instructions in Jumpstart portrait in my Realistic Portraits coloring book by Christine Karron β I have many instruction coloring manuals, the Jumpstart book is the first book that was easy to follow and I was happy with results! Going to try other instruction books in the Jumpstart series.

Donβt waste your money.
Iβm a colored pencil teacher, specializing in portraits. I have great respect for the author. That said, this book is a waste of money. The author does have another books that are excellent.

π Loved this one!!!
I am a huge fan of Ann Kullberg and all of her Jumpstart lessons! I am a beginner at colored pencil. I have enjoyed and learned a lot from the them. I started with the butterfly and tomato, then I did the landscape but I have to say I loved doing this portrait. It was so much fun seeing her come to life. The white kitten turned out really well. I am going to try and do another animal next. I enjoyed the short strokes to create the fur. Overall if you are looking to learn and have fun coloring this is where to start! Also makes great gifts for the artist in your life.
