Great value!
Great for studio!! It works so well and makes the room cool enough for me to be able to sleep at night. Very easy to install. It came with a seal thing that can block out extra space and to prevent bugs from coming in. Easy control to use. It is quite heavy I would say when I move it myself to fourth floor.

Good , inexpensive unit
I've only had this a few days. My room specs are larger than the recommended square footage for proper cooling. It cools my area really well. It doesn't push out a lot of cold air but it does push it out . Id say i can feel a temperature change in about 10 mins or so . On very hot days, it keeps my area very comfortable and cool for me. So far no complaints. It comes with foam to seal around the unit/ window to minimize cool loss and is very effective. I can't speak to durability because I've not had it long enough but it's basically a plastic construct. I definitely would not recommend accidentally dropping it. It would be completely shattered.

Works as advertised. Just handle with care.
Good for cooling a bedroom! Its a cheap little thing made of plastic but it works nicely. The brackets for keeping the unit in are tiny and don't fit my window but it sits just fine with the window down. I'll see if it lasts. If it doesn't my rating will change ofc

Lightweight, cools well.
So far, a very good little machine. I don't even have to keep it on high. So far on low, I find myself turning the knob off of the coldest setting. I have a small apartment, and bigger units have not managed to keep me cool throughout, although we have so far had mostly a milder summer than the past few years. So, the final jury is out. But on low, the sound is not horrible, and it doesn't have that awful grating some do when the condenser comes on. Well see if hotter, more humid weather makes a difference, and how long it lasts (some only go a few years). Lightweight, easy to assemble and install. No remote, and I don't see a sleep mode, but overall good. I just feel like it is too early to be sure about all five stars.

It works!
Works great so far. We've had it for several months. It does leak a TON of condensation (in very humid South Texas), so you'll need something under it outside. We just put a plant pot, and that looks/works fine. As for cooling, it makes our living area cold when it's 90°+ outside, so I'd say it works. It's not going to cool a whole house though. We have one in the living area, one in a bedroom, and we need one in another bedroom at the other end of the house. Three would keep a 3 bed house cold.

An absolute BEAST of a little A/C unit!!!!
Wow!!! I got this small window unit (intended to cool only 150 sq. feet of space) for the living room of my apartment to replace an older GE unit of the same specs that had died after only 1 year of use. I had honestly never heard of the brand Midea before and was a little skeptical, but noticed all the positive reviews and decided to take a chance on this. So glad I did! Despite its small size and specs for "only" having enough BTUs to cool 150 sq. feet of space, this little unit is an ABSOLUTE BEAST. (Note: I am using it in conjunction with a 10,000 BTU A/C on the 2nd floor of my apartment.) My entire apartment is around 1,200 sq. feet. By using a 10,000 BTU A/C (which happens to be an LG brand) on the upstairs floor and this 5,000 BTU Midea unit on the 1st floor, I am able to maintain my entire apartment at a consistent temp of 66 degrees.....even when it is 90 degrees outside. Pretty impressive! The Midea definitely outperforms other brands of the same BTU that I have used in past summers. For example, with previous (other brand) 5,000 BTU units and the exact same configuration (i.e. - a 10,000 BTU unit running upstairs and a different brand of 5,000 BTU running downstairs), I have only been able to get the temp in the apartment down to 68-70 degrees, depending on how hot it is outside. Again, the Midea --- with the temp outside between 85-90 the past few days --- has been solidly maintaining the temp in my apartment at a crisp 66 degrees: pretty impressive! I am supposing that when the temp outside rises to 100+, it may creep up to 68 or so (we shall see), but even so, this little unit is already performing way better than any other previous brand of the same BTU. The other thing I love about the Midea is the speed at which it brings the temp down the first 2-3 degrees. Consistently each day, when I start the unit, the temp in my apartment comes down by 2-3 degrees within the first 20-40 minutes. That is fast! Thereafter, I have observed that the Midea continues to bring the temp down by about 2 degrees per hour, bottoming out at 65-66 degrees, a very respectable low temp. This holds true even when we are cooking in the kitchen 20 feet away, or working out in the living room (generating body heat, etc.). After such a positive initial experience with this brand, I have purchased 2 more A/C units by Midea --- one other 5,000 BTU, and also a 6,000 BTU. I highly recommend this brand for the price. As I said before, it clearly outperforms other brands at similar BTU levels. Only drawback is it's a bit noisy, but honestly I will take noisy for this level of cool comfort.

Ridiculous Customer Service. I would not buy again.
I literally just got this thing, installed it (easy) and tried to pull out the filter just to check it (no idea why I did this, btw). It's supposed to be a simple slide-out mechanism, but it got stuck (like caught on some metal) and then ripped, due to some fault in the machine itself. When I contacted the company for help, I was online with them for about 40 minutes, answering questions, pointing out the faulty parts on a diagram that I had to find myself because the link they gave me didn't work, etc... Eventually they told me they were out of the part and I should just look for it on an "online retailer," which is first of all ridiculous, and second of all-- these parts are not easy to find. I know the logical move here is just to return the unit and buy something more mainstream, with easier-to-find parts, but I live in NYC and don't have a car, and it's not that easy just to uninstall the AC and walk down to the Post Office with a big ol' Air Conditioner. I'm gonna have to jimmy it to the best of my ability. I was between this and an equally priced/ sized AC from a more mainstream brand, and I wish I'd gone with that one.

Only requires one person for installation.
It's relatively easy to install if you found the correct video instruction on Youtube. The photo shows all the tools I used. Since I am not a very strong female, and I did it all by myself, so this is a huge plus for saving $200 handy man cost. the window block did not work for me, because for some reason, my window frame was too firm to even let the screw in. I had to use longer screws at home to tighten the top of the A/C and the side panels. There will be gaps that needs extra sealing. If you have worries about neighbor's kitchen exhaustion pollution, the side panel comes with the unit might not be tight enough.
