Works good for 16x32 Intex above ground pool.
I use this on our 16' x 32' x54" Intex above-ground soft-side pool. The pool is close to 15,000 gallons. I've had it set up a couple of weeks and the weather has been very hot, but the MegaChlor does the job, keeping the chlorine levels in the "ok" range the whole time. I have it set on maximum output. If I left it a while and got green water I'd probably have to shock it, as there's not much excess for this size pool. It was a little tricky figuring out the controls, but the instructions were clear - I just had to read them! The *best part* is that it operates independently from the filter, so when I know the water is clean and I have the cover on, I can keep the MegaChlor operating without running the pump. The chlorine just rises out of the unit without any water movement needed. Even in a big pool like mine it disperses just fine without the pump running. Also, the power supply reduces the voltage to 12v dc to the unit that goes in the water. So even though I should probably remove it for swimming (and would with kids who can't be trusted to not mess with it), I don't worry about being electrocuted if it's still in the pool with people! Finally, it requires a lower salt concentration than other generators I've owned, so less salt to buy and fool with is a good thing. Handy chart is included for figuring out how much you need for your pool. I'll update if it fails unreasonably, but from my first few weeks' impression, I'm a happy customer!

Does not last,
Bought in June of 2023 and it quit working 1 month after. Return Window closed. We have used one of these before and ended up replacing with a new one this year. This product is not worth the price. Will never buy again.

This little baby does what it says!
Before getting my swim spa exercise pool I did a lot of research into water maintenance. Most water treatment systems can involve lots of chemicals that not only cost money but can make your skin dry & itchy. And often they actually deteriorate the water quality. Ozone systems included with most pools & hot tubs today can help, but are inadequate to sanitize the water by themselves. Conventional salt water chlorination systems have been around for years but required so much salt they were often problematic. This one is different because it uses way less salt - as little as 1500 parts per million, which is considered fresh water & safe for most filtering systems. I've even read it's OK for irrigating plants. You really can't feel or even taste the salt at all. The unit itself couldn't be simpler to use. It just hangs over the edge of the pool & continuously converts the salt (sodium chloride) into chlorine, keeping the water chlorinated at just the right level for your pool (it's adjustable), eliminating the need for most pool & spa chemicals. This continuous 24/7 low-level sanitization prevents micro-organisms from multiplying to problem levels. As a result, my pool water seldom needs to be shocked & only has to be changed once or twice a year, depending on how much it's used. Of course, since hot tubs are so much smaller & hotter than pools they require a different system (I keep my pool at about 75 degrees. Most hot tubs are about 104). But I understand a smaller version of this is available for hot tubs. Anyway, I'm glad I took a chance on this system. It makes maintaining my pool really easy & virtually trouble-free.

Get ahold of manufacturer if you have issues.
Worked great for 32 days. 2 days after the return policy expired. Contacted manufacturer and their warranties was for a year. Sent it in and power supply was bad. They repaired and returned. Manufacter is good to work with.

Amazed that it really works.
I wanted to try a salt water pool but was not sure if it would really work. Considering that these products are a little salty in price. But I am sure glad that I made the change ffrom chlorine to salt. I have not put a drop of chlorine in my pool and it is crystal clear. I have had to clean the meganachlor once and that was in vinegar and it took about a minute. The water feels soft and it is not harsh on your skin, It cost me $20.00 in salt and have not had to add anymore. Last year I spent way over 500.00 dollars in chlorine and that dose'nt include the algaecides and other chemicals I had to buy to keep my pools clean last year. Nor the time to be vaccuming it all the time. I have vaccumed my pools twice this year and check the levels once a week. I am very pleased with this product and have reccomended it to other pool owners.

Quit after less than 2 weeks.
This didn't even last 2 weeks. If I had known that there was a short return window and that it wasn't actually prime, I wouldn't have ordered. I literally just finished setting up the pool, installed the system, and less than 2 weeks later it's not working. It lights up when you plug it in, flashes, and then nothing. It doesn't generate chlorine and no lights are on. If I was to guess, it's probably a bad board. I can't even return it, they have a short return period. Two weeks for $308 what a ripoff. I tried calling the manufacturer and it's just a voice mail. I will try to leave a message and see if they respond, but I need to cool off before I call. I am very upset.

Great product and service!
Bought this for my new above ground 8,600 gallon pool. It worked great then quit. I called them and they sent me a mailing label to send it back. The repaired the circuit board and sent it back and itโs going strong! Nice helpful folks, and a simple to install and operate product!

3rd times not the charm
This will be my 3rd one I have ever bought. Had to return the 1st one due to electrical issues with the first one and it burnt up. 2nd one worked great all summer but once I set it up this summer no longer works. Ordered another for this summer and it way more expensive by the way. But the control worked great. The cell made no chlorine. So discouraged. Love having a salt water pool but the equipment is so much more expensive and this one was almost more than I wanted to spend. Don't know what to do now. Chlorine chemicals aggravate the skin and eyes
