The spout pours smoothly without spilling, and the kettle feels sturdy.The ability to select a specific temperature is a great feature, especially for making herbal teas and hot chocolate that do not require boiling water. The boiling function is useful for quick meals like cup noodles or instant potatoes. While the stay-hot feature is a nice option, I haven’t needed to use it since I typically prepare large amounts of tea in an insulated carafe. The overall build quality appears to be solid. The flip-up switch has a built-in light to indicate when the unit is powered on (this was not shown in the photos).The interior steel vessel is a singular piece (like a thermos) and has no seals that might potentially leak (the corners have a small radius - no weld points). There are no plastic parts that come into contact with the water. Even the underside of the lid is one solid piece of metal. NOTE: my unit had a plastic and metal mesh strainer attached on the inside, which was easily removed via the plastic notches.The exterior is a nicely finished, glossy plastic with a solid handle. It works very well. It’s fairly quick. This kettle requires respect for what it does which is boil water. I live alone and am not overly worried about burns but would be quite concerned if living with someone else who might touch it inadvertently. The metal is dangerously hot when used. I particularly would not recommend it around children. Update, after quite a bit of use, I’m impressed with the quality of the kettle. It heats quickly and operates flawlessly. It’s a pleasure to use.

This ia about the most perfect kettle I have found. Stainless steel (not plastic), with the exception of the very useful and easy to read water-level window.Boils quickly. Very comfortable handle, but you should grab it below the mid-point. It's quiet, too.

I bought this kettle to replace another brand that drew too much power, and eventually melted its own base. This kettle heats a little bit slower than my prior unit, but this one shows no signs of failure and still heats the water to a rolling boil. It has a bright LED embedded in the power switch/button that I can see clearly across the room. When the water is hot, the switch/button clicks and the LED goes out. Perfect. There is a water level strip on the left side of the pot which is easy to view and understand. I did remove the fine-mesh filter from the spout. The water pours a little faster without the filter.
