Dolphin vs. Airper cordless vs. Beatbot cordless
After purchasing and testing three different pool robots in my 20’ x 40’ rectangular vinyl pool, here are my thoughts: 🥇 1st Place: Dolphin (by far the best) The Dolphin completely outperformed the others. On its very first cleaning cycle, it picked up all of the fine debris that had been sitting in the pool for over a month despite repeated cleanings with the other two robots. It cleaned methodically, covered the entire pool, climbed the walls reliably, and left the water noticeably cleaner. If your priority is actually getting your pool clean—especially fine dirt and dust—this is the one I’d recommend. 🥈 2nd Place: Aiper For a cordless robot, the Aiper was surprisingly good, especially considering the price. It didn’t clean as thoroughly as the Dolphin and its battery life resulted in a shorter cleaning cycle, but it still did a respectable job. If you’re specifically looking for a cordless option and want good value, I’d recommend it. 🥉 3rd Place: Beatbot Unfortunately, the Beatbot was the biggest disappointment despite being the most expensive of the three. It consistently missed large sections of the pool and struggled to pick up fine debris. Even after multiple cleaning cycles (and even a replacement unit), it left behind the same dirt that the Dolphin removed in a single pass. It also failed to climb the walls effectively in my 20’ x 40’ rectangular vinyl pool, often slipping back down before reaching the waterline. For the premium price, I expected much better performance. Bottom line: If cleaning performance is your top priority, the Dolphin is worth every penny. If you want a cordless robot at a more affordable price, I’d choose the Aiper. Based on my experience, I would not purchase the Beatbot again.

This product is sub par and mShocking Failure for a “Premium” Product, doesn't work
This product is sub par and mShocking Failure for a “Premium” Product — Amazon Should Not Be Selling This I am genuinely shocked that a product as unreliable as the Dolphin Nautilus CC Supreme Wi-Fi Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner is being sold on Amazon without stronger warnings, especially given the number of negative reviews already posted. For over $1,000, I expected a premium, dependable device. Instead, I received one of the most frustrating and poorly designed products I have ever purchased — and the worst part is that my unit isn’t even six months old. The cleaner worked for a short time when it was brand new, but the problems began almost immediately. The Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection — one of the main features advertised — was unstable since day one. Some days it would connect, other days it would not, and eventually it stopped connecting entirely. The app cannot even scan the QR code on the power supply. The connectivity system feels unfinished, unreliable, and completely unacceptable for a product marketed at a premium level. What makes this situation absurd is that the device itself has now completely stopped functioning, barely half a year after purchase. I effectively have a $1,300 dead brick sitting at the bottom of my pool. No cleaning, no connectivity, no reliability. A product at this price should not catastrophically fail this quickly. Customer support has been equally disappointing — extremely limited hours, slow responses, and repetitive instructions to redo the same troubleshooting steps I had already completed multiple times. None of their suggestions resolved anything. At this point, my frustration extends beyond the manufacturer and toward Amazon itself. Amazon continues to sell this product despite numerous reviews describing the exact same failures, which raises serious concerns about Amazon’s vendor vetting, product oversight, and quality control. As a long-time Amazon customer, I am genuinely surprised — and disappointed — that Amazon is willing to associate its reputation with a device that clearly has a widespread pattern of problems. Frankly, this experience is making me reconsider future purchases on Amazon if this is the direction the platform is heading. Retailers cannot simply hide behind legal disclaimers while distributing products that repeatedly fail consumers in predictable and well-documented ways. Amazon should bear some responsibility for what it chooses to sell under its marketplace. This review reflects my experience truthfully and in good faith. Given that the product is less than six months old and has already failed completely, I am evaluating what further actions I may need to take as a consumer. I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this product. It has been expensive, unreliable, and ultimately worthless.isses any reasonable expectation

Exceeding my expectations
I bought this a month ago after researching a set of options (including the Dolphin Sigma and various other sub-$1000 robots). I wanted to give it a few weeks before I wrote a review and try it out, and I have to say I'm glad that I bought this (even at the higher price). Getting going was pretty easy. Could this have used a better user manual? Sure, but I had it up and running in about 30 mins. I wasn't sure how to "diagonalize" the float handle out of the box (see below) but just tried it at max diag. The controls (on the app) for setting a cycle, monitoring progress, etc. are fairly simple to use, and complete enough for everything I need to do. It is true that the "drive by app" feature isn't great -- it has a 2 second lag between command and actuation, but once you know that, you can get it to the place you want to go if you have a tough spot you want to hit manually. And you can start it from anywhere using your phone once it is tied into your WiFi, I start mine from the grocery store or wherever. In terms of cleaning, this thing is really pretty excellent, honestly my pool has never looked so good with so little effort, and this in the dead of winter when my pool is typically full of leaves, twigs, dirt, and other assorted muck. This robot has probably saved me about 2-3 hours per week (if not more) of sweeping and vacuuming my pool, which is a 25K gallon in-ground rectangle with some curve-y sides. the 2.5 hour cycle I have been running once every other day or once per day when I think about it and that seems to cover the entire thing. The robot climbs walls pretty effectively and does wall cleaning. There are adjustments for the "float handle" for putting that in place to make the robot either "stay high" on the walls for extended time or not. I have put it on the highest setting, and it seems to "crawl" along the water line (cleaning as it goes) for about 2-6 feet on this setting. But most of the time it spends on the floor of the pool with forays up walls. I think that makes sense. A couple of points on cleaning (pros): * Both sets of filters seem to pick up fine dirt/sand (which I have a lot of) and I can't tell much of a difference. * Leaves-twigs-etc -- gets all of that stuff no prob * Cleaning the filters -- really simple, easy, takes 3-5 mins every few days. Way way easier than I used to do (pole-mounted vacuum, cleaning the sock filter a pain). I could probably clean these filters once a week or two, but I get a lot of stuff in my pool so I've been playing it safe * Goes over raised drain covers no problem. I was considering the cheaper Dolphin Sigma model but there were some comments that that model would get stuck on top of the covers. I wasn't sure if this model would have the same problem, but it doesn't -- goes right over them. * It also climbs curved concave and convex walls. This surprised me, I thought the laws of physics would preclude a concave wall climb, but somehow it has enough traction/suction to do just that. Nifty. Balanced issues (cons): * The robot will climb up steps (especially the deeper ones that are more "table-like") and clean those. But not very often and not consistently every cycle. I find I have to sweep some fine grit off the steps about once every week or two * Does the robot get "stuck" sometimes? Yes, I have one particular notch area in my pool where it will get itself jammed (lightly) in that notch and not be able to back out on its own. I'd say this happens once every 4 or 5 cycles, and I just gently pull it by the cable back away from that area and it goes back to cleaning the rest of the pool. Unknowns: * Can you really leave it in the pool for extended periods of time? I have left mine in so far for about a week at a time, but I'm not sure still if this will cause any long term harm. I try to take it out of the water for a "rest" a couple of days at a time once a week. Not sure if that is a good idea or a waste of time. I just hope this thing lasts. If I can get at least 18-24 months about of it, will be a huge win.

Rocky Start BUT Everything worked Out (4-2-2020 UPDATE)
(SEE BELOW FOR UPDATE)Within 2 hours of receiving this pool cleaner and taking it out of the box, it stopped working. I would turn it on, it would turn off and light on power supply box turned red. Filters were not even close to full. My issue other than the machine not working was the lack of manual. I had to go to the website and "flip" through a digital book. For 1500 dollars you'd think there would be a physical owners manual. Even after looking through the manual AND google searching, I could find no information on what the different light colors meant, other than blue good/red bad. So other than checking filters I had no idea what to look for. Also, right of the bat it would not connect to the WIFI. I tried on 2.4 and 5. I get that there are defective products from time to time and when I called the number on their website the lady was very nice but I really wish they would have sent me a brand new cleaner seeing as this one was broken right from the start but instead I have to send this one to them for a repair attempt. After paying this much and it not working out of the box they should have sent a new one. I'll see how the repair goes and update this review if it works. If not then I'll be getting my money back and choosing a different product. (UPDATE)I left my original review for comparison with this update. As i stated before, the people i spoke with about the issues stated above were VERY nice, professional and actually reached out to me after my initial review to see what exactly had happened so they could put notes in for the tech that would be looking at my cleaner when they received it. She also sent me a link that would take me straight to the owners manual for my particular machine. I was pleasantly surprised by the phone call. I explained to them in detail what had taken place, she apologized about the trouble and assured me i would hear back from them soon as their tech took a look at it. Turns out there was an issue with the motor. So in this case, i had just gotten unlucky and received a bad unit. She called me back and let me know that it could not be repaired and they had another cleaner (brand new) sent out to me within 2 days from the call. I got that cleaner in the mail this morning and right off the bat i was able to link the unit with my wifi and after letting in soak in the pool about 30 minutes, i set it to do a deep clean cycle and it set off without issue and ran the entire cycle time without incident. So far i have had zero issues or complaints as it seems to do what it is supposed to do and does a wonderful job. I would like to thank the people that helped me out with this issue and wish all companies support staff operated like they do.

Cleans well, moderate time save
This Nautilus CC Supreme cleans well and operates reliably but only is a moderate time saver for my weekly pool cleaning time. Bottom line is that instead of 1-1/2 to 2 hours cleaning the pool I spend about 1 hour manually cleaning the pool each week and about 30 minutes of robot setup+cleanup per week. What the CC Supreme does well - pick up dirt and leaves from the bottom of the pool and unattended cleaning. What the CC Supreme does less well - wall cleaning and waterline scrubbing. So I still have to manually vacuum and scrub my attached spa since it's physically separated from the pool and too small for the CC Supreme. I still have to manually vacuum and sweep my full length steps since the CC Supreme does not do steps. What I did find after several weeks of use is that the CC Supreme does not cover all parts of the wall well - especially rounded corners and eventually algae accumulates in the areas not covered by the Robot. So now I manually scrub all the walls of the pool - fortunately even for my 20,000 gallon pool that takes only about 15 minutes. With that the pool stays algae free and clean all week. Some good things: I have a pool cover that floats on the surface of the water and goes from wall to wall with no gaps. The CC Supreme works perfectly fine under the pool cover and even pokes up to do some waterline scrubbing. I usually use the robot every other day by itself under the pool cover. I remove the pool cover once a week to vacuum and scrub the steps and walls. and then run the robot without the pool cover. It's not very smart about how it cleans at the waterline and I notice that it will clean the same 4 ft section of waterline several times in one session and skip many other sections of waterline. The two filters are very easy and quick to clean and seem quite rugged. I'm using the standard (not ultra fine) filters and they do a good job of picking up leaves, debris, sand, and even filtering the pool water itself. Because the robot is quite heavy I highly recommend that you buy the universal caddy and premium caddy cover - which will allow you to wheel around the robot and controller and store them out of the way. The phone app works OK (takes an unusually long time to connect) but it's irritating that you can access the app data such as past cleaning information ONLY when the controller unit is plugged in and connected to the internet. If you disconnect the controller after use and store it away, the app data is not accessible. Given how I'm now using it, perhaps some of the less expensive Dolphin robots would have been just as good - just a thought.

Legitimate junk. Unreliable.
Unreliable, inconsistent, app doesn’t work well and customer service is awful. Didn’t work right from the beginning and completely stopped working after a few months and after finally getting a hold of someone we paid $200 to ship the friggin $1400 inoperative pool cleaner back for repairs inside the warranty window. The message we got back with the repaired unit was basically “here ya go that’s all you get.” Worked for a few months after and stopped (water flows but the treads won’t move and you get a solid red light on the control panel). It’s legitimate junk for the amount of money I have put into it.

Amazing pool cleaner, worth the cost
This thing has been a life saver for keeping our pool clean. I like to set it at night and let it clean the pool for the next day. We also have the Betta surface robot and it gets stuck on the cord of the Dolphin, so we can't leave it in the pool all the time. The app is very convenient and controls the robot well. You can even go in and see error messages to find out exactly why the robot stopped (e.g. filter is full, or something is stuck, etc.). You just drop it in the pool, select your cleaning, and let it go. Then, you get a notification when its done. It is expensive, yes, but worth the money and other reviews indicate that the company stands behind their product. The only CONS would be that it is heavy and could be a problem for some to maneuver. And, the power unit is not weatherproof, so, you can't leave it outside exposed. To solve that, I just built a little shelter out of scrap wood, leaving a few air gaps so that it doesn't overheat. I also bought a cord protector so that people don't trip over the cord. This thing is a life saver and means I don't have to waste hours trying to get crud out of my pool.

Maybe all pool robotic cleaners are this bad?
What it does well: It can drive in random straight lines sucking up fine dirt (with appropriate filters) and most large debris. The included dirt filter bags work well for getting sand and dirt out of the pool. What it doesn't do well (and things I paid for that don't work): I have a freeform pool with no straight walls. The robot will only climb the walls in a couple of places around my entire pool. I think the robot's width and the curvature of the walls make it impossible to keep the tracks against the wall well enough to climb them. I didn't mind because it seems more like a gimmick to me. I've never had a problem with the cleanliness of my pool walls. The app could be better. Ah, who am I kidding? The app is terrible. Scheduling is nearly impossible. Manually controlling it is a joke—it only turns in 90-degree increments, and there is at least a 3-5-second delay before the robot reacts to your input. I could go on about the app, but take my word: You'll never use the app except to turn the robot on or off and maybe to schedule something - but don't have the kids around when you are trying to do this. The way the baskets are engineered, leaves will get stuck in the pouch that allows entry into the basket. When this happens, debris will wash back into your pool. If you don't need to vacuum leaves out of your pool, then you are in the clear, but if you have leaves, this robot's basket design has major shortcomings. The plastic sides that wrap around the wheel axles are rubbing and breaking away. Those sides scrape against the pool sides and will wear down and break off over time. I have since bought a robotic vacuum that doesn't have sides covering the tracks, and THIS is what everyone needs to be looking for. The design of this robot is like designing something that is forced to fail in a few years, so you have to buy another one. Customer service: H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E My Dolphin decided it didn't want to run anymore, so I sent my Dolphin in under a warranty request (I've only had it two years) and have not received any communication other than telling me they received my robot (automated email). So, I logged in to their website to see my warranty request as "closed." So I opened up another request referencing this request asking for the status of the claim, and now they have closed that request, but still no communication. So, why don't I call them? Great idea. Let me look at their email about how outstanding their customer service is and how they will baby my sick robot ... there is no number. No email or phone number is listed. They signed off on the email as "Happy to provide an exceptional experience, Maytronics Customer Care Team," and that is it - no phone number or email address. Hey, Maytronics ... you failed. I did look up a number (it was not easy to find), and the woman who would have rather been doing anything else than talking to me looked up my claim and gave me a standard answer of 2-3 weeks on the time to repair. Um, thanks. So you really have no idea then. I don't do the conversation justice, it really was exceptional. Before I sent it in, I had this brilliant idea of taking it to a local Maytronics dealer and having them fix it. This would save the shipping cost. I called the local dealer, and they said it would be $75 to have them look at it. Fine, I'll pay that. But after a brief hold, they returned and said they wouldn't touch it unless I bought it from their store. Are you kidding me? I guess this is part of their wonderful service. Verdict: If you don't mind a HEAVY robotic vac (50 lbs with water) that is built to last 2-3 years, doesn't reliably climb walls, has no usable app, or drops debris back into the pool anytime it vacuums up leaves, then hey, waste your money. There are cheaper robots with fewer features that do the job (vacuuming the floor of your pool) just as well. I bought an Aiper Scuba S1 as a backup until (or if) I get my vacuum back. It costs a third of the Dolphin Nautilus CC Supreme, weighs about a third as much (maybe 20 lbs wet, 15 lbs dry), cleans about half my walls, and does NOT dump debris back into the pool. The Dolphin might become the Aiper's backup! Anyway, this isn't an advertisement for the Aiper. My point is, why pay for all these extra things you end up not using, or that won't work correctly, from a company that doesn't give a flip about providing "an exceptional experience" when you have a warranty claim? UPDATE: Finally got the Dolphin back. They just told me when it would be delivered and that it required a signature. That time frame did not work for my schedule, so I had to spend $5.50 to have the delivery time shifted three hours. In the end, FedEx left it without a signature, sitting on its side. I have not plugged it in yet, but I shipped it in the original box and got it returned in a different box. It's no big deal, though I liked having the original box. There was no explanation for what was wrong or what they "fixed." The corner plastic over the wheel axles was not fixed, even though that is partly why I sent it in. There was no explanation as to why they were not replaced. Would you put this back into your pool (see picture)? I'm still using the Aiper as it is much lighter, cordless, and works almost as well at a third of the price. I think I will try to trim up the Dolphin and sell it so that I may recoup some of the enormous wasted money I spent on the half-baked features. Lesson learned. ANOTHER update (4/24/2025): So, I definitely have strong opinions about the Aiper and the Dolphin that I wanted to share. The Aiper is very good at picking up leaves, while the Dolphin is rather horrible at it. This is due to the way the leaves get pulled into the baskets. The Dolphin uses a narrow pouch that often times catches the leaves and clogs the opening to the basket while the Aiper uses a solid plastic latch that opens when it runs and closes when it turns off. So I generally start off with using the Aiper to clear out the leaves from the pool. After a couple runs of the Aiper, I have the Dolphin come in with the dirt filter mesh and the weight of the dolphin along with the three brushes on the bottom can clean the floor of fine dirt very well. Neither cleans the walls, neither cleans the waterline of my pool which is a freeform with no straight sides. If you have straight sides, it may work for you, but I can't speak to that. I leave the Dolphin in the pool 24/7, unless the Aiper is running. Cleaning the Dolphin is a pain because I have to pull it up to the water surface using the cord - not good for the longevity of the machine. The Aiper comes with a hook that attaches to the end of a standard pool pole and you just lift it out, pretty simple. All in all when it comes to pool cleaners, look for something with a basket with a plastic latch that snaps shut, and also has fine mesh dirt filters for when you need to filter out the dirt on the pool floor. And of course, one that does not have plastic around the wheel axils to rub on the sides of the pool. The remote-control phone app for the Dolphin is still junk. When I need to use the Dolphin, I just push the button on the control box. Scheduling was nice back when I didn't have leaves in the pool, but now that I am having leaves, the weak points of the Dolphin became more obvious, as I have spoken about already. Nothing does the stairs well. You will always need to brush them before running the cleaners. I don't believe anybody that says their cleaner does their stairs well.

So far so good - it cleans, though not as I expected it to
After reading quite a few negative reviews, I had few major concerns when I purchased this expensive item. People reported that eero extenders could be a problem, robot stuck in the middle of the cycle etc. However, in my case I had no problem connecting to an eero router even without turning off 5GHz (eero offers such an option via application) It quickly connected and started cleaning the pool. It got stuck at 23% the first time, but was able to complete the cycle the next time. To be honest, after opening the pool it's not in the best shape, so I did anticipate it will take multiple rounds to clean it up. I did anticipate that after the first pass it would be 80-90% clean, but in reality it's about 60%, so I assume it will take 3-4 rounds to clean it up completely. Still much better than doing it manually. The length of the cable is more than adequate. I was surprised to learn that the control block is not waterproof, but water-resistant, so it should not be exposed to water (i.e. rain will be a problem) Well, it's a minor issue to me. Also, wall climbing seems to be exaggerated. So far, I have not witnessed waterline scrubbing (still learning) It does climb the walls, but stops short below the surface without reaching the waterline. Maybe some other routine does that - still learning. I did not see the software issues one of the reviewers described (cut the schedule line), though the need for the cloud connection is concerning (cloud connection did not stop the robot from moving though) Lack of notification on the phone when the robot is stuck or cycle complete is also slightly annoying. Simple thing to do and would save a lot of hassle. Cleaning the filters is a super easy process. Bottom line - so far so good. I'll see how it works in a long run, but it's definitely a huge time and energy saver compared to the manual cleaning. Update 3 days later. The pool is not sparkly clean after 5th cycle (1 is thorough, others are regular as I do not see much difference to be honest) Those disconnects from "cloud" are getting annoying. Usually, the connection restores rather quickly, but I had once to disconnect power to restore the connection. It seems wifi functionality of Dolphin can be improved. Also, I cannot get the robot to get to the waterline. The video shows nice waterline scrubbing, but in my case it stops on the first angle between floor and vertical wall rather than climbing to the waterline. Furthermore, I am totally puzzled by the sentence in the manual that the handle must be adjusted diagonally. What does it mean? How? Instructions are not provided. The handle can be adjusted, no doubt, but what is the right position? And what's the difference does it make? I guess I'll have to experiment or call Dolphin to figure out.
