Caso Design B5 Foldable Battery-Operated, 3290WS Baker's Scale, 1, Brushed Stainless

I purchased this scale at Williams Sonoma three years ago. I love the concept and it's completely user-friendly. But it either literally eats through batteries or it's defective. I've barely used it because it needs new batteries so frequently, it's just aggravating. Although, you can't beat the high display. I wonder if they could service for me???

I’ve had this scale for 4 months and have had to change the batteries 4 times. I use it for baking for maybe 10 minutes a few times a week. It also only goes to the tenths place and rounds to 5, so it’s not particularly accurate. Which can be a problem for ingredients like salt, yeast, and baking powder which are measured in very small amounts that need to be accurate. I love the design because you can put a massive bowl on it and still read it but, after 4 months, I’m giving up the ghost and throwing it out. If it weren’t for constantly finding it too low on batteries to give me a reading, I’d keep using it for sure.

This scale is very easy to use. The screen is bright. The scale can display weight in pounds and ounces, ounces or grams. The tare function is easy to reach. The scale is elegant while being substantial and easy to use. The only downside is that this scale requires 6 batteries: 4 in the standard place (bottom) weight and 2 in the swing up top controlling the display. The batteries in the top need to be replaced when the display lasts only for a short or two.It is a useful tool that belongs in a baker's kitchen. Measuring using weight is much easier than measuring by volume. This allows the baker to scale the recipe either up or down. This scalingbis easier to do when weights are in grams.I am pleased with this scale.

I purchased this scale and when it arrived, I had a really hard time getting it to turn on. When I was finally able to get it to turn on, I tried weighing a few items that weighed out to 260g. Upon removing the items from the scale, it returned to 1g, not 0g. If I weighed the same items again, they would weigh out to 261g and then upon removing them the empty scale would read 2g. Crazy, maybe I got a defective one since everyone else liked it so much, but it's going back since I can't trust the accuracy. Wish I would have had the option to exchange instead of having to get a refund, I really did like the ergonomics of this scale.

Great product. I bake cakes and breadsa lot so this one is perfect to weight tiny amount.(You can check from 0.5g)Also this is very good price compare to others so I absolutely recommend everyone to buy this scale here.

This is a great product, and the funny thing is that people don't know it. It sold for almost $100 at Williams Sonoma last year as their top of line scale, then it was discontinued because so many users were returning it as "broken." Guess what? The only thing broken was the brains in the people buying the product. Simply put, YOU NEED TO PUT BATTERIES THAT ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOP OF THE UNIT AS WELL AS THE BOTTOM! Otherwise don't work, Amigo. You can buy this excellent product for under $20. IF Caso had simply included the batteries, this product would out sell all others.

Nachdem unsere bisherige Küchenwaage kaputt war, musste eine neue her. Sie sollte vor allem zuverlässig wiegen.Unsere Wahl viel auf die „Caso 3290 B5“ insb. deshalb, weil sie 0,5-Gramm genau wiegen kann. Meine Frau stellt gelegentlich Pralinen her und da müssen einige Aromastoffe teilweise in sehr kleinen Grammzahlen zugewogen werden.Ein wenig schreckte uns der Preis ab und mir war der Klappmechanismus nicht ganz geheuer: wir benötigen die Wage mehrmals täglich; wird die Mechanik das verkraften und geht vielleicht dadurch die Kabelverbindung zwischen Wägeeinheit und Anzeigeeinheit vorzeitig kaputt? Trotz der Bedenken haben wir die Wage bestellt und sie ist nun seit knapp vier Wochen im Einsatz.Auch wenn wir noch keine Langzeiterfahrung haben, haben wir den Kauf bisher nicht bereut: es macht Spaß mit dieser zuverlässigen, genauen, stabilen und schönen Waage zu arbeiten.Die Waage ist (soweit man das ohne Eichgewichte überprüfen kann) genau. Die Ergebnisse sind reproduzierbar, die Drift ist sehr gering und wird nicht softwareseitig „weggebügelt“: man kann also auch kleine Zuwägemengen langsam hinzuschütten und sie werden angezeigt. Die Selbstabschaltung ist im Handbuch mit 3,5 Min angegeben; wir haben es nicht nachgemessen, aber die Zeit ist lang und man kann alles in Ruhe zugeben. Das große, oben liegende, gut lesbare Display erlaubt auch bei größeren Gefäßen ein Ablesen des Gewichts in entspannter, aufrechter Körperhaltung. Der Klappmechnismus wirkt wie die ganze Waage stabil und wertig. Eine Kabelverbindung zwischen „unten“ und „oben“ kann nicht kaputt gehen, da die Übertragung offensichtlich per Infrarot erfolgt.Ein kleines Manko ist möglicherweise der Batteriebedarf. Zum einen benötigt die Wage sechs AAA Batterien (4 in der Wägeeinheit und 2 in der Anzeigeeinheit). Die Anzahl ist nicht so entscheidend wie die Frage, wie lange sie halten werden. Wir wissen es noch nicht, aber in Anbetracht der IR-Übertragung, des hintergrundbeleuchteten Displays und des fehlenden Aus-Schalters fürchte ich, dass wir evtl. öfters mal wechseln werden müssen. Da man AAA-Batterien billig bis preiswert erwerben kann, würde uns das aber in Anbetracht der Vorzüge dieser Waage nicht wirklich stören.

When it works, it weights correctly, as far as I can see. However, it requires like 6 batteries and they discharge quite quickly.The worst thing is that often the scale reset itself during a measurement, forcing the user to wait for restart, remove the item to be weighted and replace it when the scale is ready. It's quite annoying and since it's relatively expensive, I would expect a more reliable instrument.

Innerhalb eines Monats nach Kauf war die Waage nicht mehr in Funktion.Die Reklamation war möglich, nachdem ich dem Sachbearbeiter A undseiner Kollegin B mit der Zeit vermitteln konnte daß ich angeforderteBelege schon lange abgeschickt habe. Nach einigen Emails und Wochenhatte ich Ersatz.Die Waage ist bis auf zehntel Gramm genau. Es werden sechs Batterienin Größe AAA benötigt, deren Gebrauchsdauer mir noch nicht bekannt ist.Die Wiegefläche ist glatt wie ein elektrischer Herd und zeigt schnell Spuren.Das Aufklappen finde ich etwas umständlich, zumal nach Gebrauch dieWaage wieder zusammengeklappt werden muss weil dies die Ausschaltfunktionist. Das Display ist in einem mittelblau mit grauen Zahlen, was wenig Kontrastzeigt.

Diese Waage habe ich auf einem Seminar gesehen. Und war so angetan, dass ich sie gleich gekauft habe. Aufgeklappt ist sie sofort in Betrieb und lässt sich auch bei hohen Schüsseln, etwa meinem 3-l-Hotmix-Topf, mühelos ablesen. Sehr genau ist sie auch; genauer, als ich es brauche. Doch das Beste für mich: Sie hält die Anzeige ausreichend lange - so hat man im Tarabetrieb keine Eile beim Zuwiegen und der häufig aufgetretene Frust über eine stets zu früh abgeschaltete Anzeige bleibt nun aus. Die Caso 3290 ist zudem solide gearbeitet und aufwändig konstruiert: Die Daten von der Wiegeplatte werden drahtlos in die Anzeige transportiert. So bricht kein Kabel am Scharnier. Solche Sorgfalt gefällt mir. Dafür zahle ich gerne einen höheren Preis.

Purtroppo ho dovuto restituire due volte il prodotto a causa dello stesso difetto:il logo stampato al contrario in oggetto che fa del design un plus e costa di conseguenza.Sono cose che possono succedere quando si produce in Cina...( per noi sarebbe facile stampare marchio cinese sottosopra). Peccato perché la bilancia è nettamente superiore alla concorrenza,pieghevole e con ampio display retroilluminato.Mi riservo di riprovare in futuro sperando che la partita difettosa venga sostituita. Cinque stelle,invece,per il servizio resi di Amazon.
