I just ordered my 3rd one yesterday because quail math caught up to me and I have more eggs coming tomorrow ! Oops! This incubator works perfectly, super reliable and hasn’t failed me ever. I’ve had 2 of them for 4+ years . Ive had amazing hatch rates, I can see the babies really well and they have space to move (I have an Etsy made quail egg turner so it holds 22 jumbo quail eggs per incubator) I add shelf liner cut to shape for the floor when it’s time for lockdown! Super easy to use and I only add water at the end to hike up humidity. Definitely worth it when its price was 100$ and now.

UPDATE (March 2025): I have consistently used this incubator for numerous hatches and it works beautifully every time. I haven’t had a single issue with it and I’ve successfully incubated dozens of baby chicks and grown my flock of yard birds. I took extra care with my last batch of eggs, ensuring that I selected only the most healthy eggs (instead of selecting a dozen without candling them) and all TWELVE babies hatched and were healthy. My favorite feature is the clear lid that allows you to watch the entire hatching process. When days 20-21 comes around, my kids and I gather around and watch as the babies pip and eventually find their way out of their shells. It’s such an amazing experience. If you’re looking for an excellent incubator for an excellent cost, buy this one. It doesn’t disappoint. Original Review: This wasn’t my first time hatching eggs, but it was my first time using the Kebonnixs incubator. I was very pleased with the results. I found it was easy to operate, kept both the temperature and humidity stable, and it reliably turned the eggs each day. All around it turned out to be a great product for hatching a small batch of chicks. I started with a dozen eggs, two of which had to be pulled before hatch day (one was infertile; the other had an embryo that failed to develop). Out of the ten that we had left, nine of them have successfully hatched. We’re giving the last chick a little more time to make a late appearance, but even nine out of ten chicks is a very satisfactory hatch. If you’re looking for an affordable, small, easy-to-use incubator…this is a great option! I’m very happy with my purchase and look forward to using it again to hatch another batch of baby chicks.

Incubating eggs is not easy. This machine does it in a very convenient and enjoyable way. I bought and returned another model that couldn’t hold accurate temp and humidity on pre testing. Got this one and it held well for 24 hr so I used it. We have now done three rounds, all begun with 12 eggs. It was winter here in northern NY when we started. So egg collection fallibility (possibly Thru were too chilled) resulted in server Al not beginning development. One chick formed and never pipped. That run was hard to keep the humidity high enough. I had a humidifier running full blast most of the time and pots of water lined up on the radiator. I rented it and misted with a spray bottle dozens of times a day for “lock down”. Due to our environmental conditions I don’t think a different machine would be less work. Hatching was a dream. My three small kids were glued to it for a full day and it was delightful to have such great visibility. Do not forget to put non slip drawer liner material from dollar tree in. BEFORE YOU BEGIN INCUBATING use the yellow plastic egg turner as a pattern and cut it out with a hole in the middle but don’t put the bo slip mat in until just when the egg turner stops on day 17. Run two was easier to keep the humidity up. Run three it was ideal humidity every day! No additional humidifier needed. This is all due to our prevailing ambient conditions. After we spiked the humidity for hatching it it was ideal. HOWEVER upon hatching the humidity spiked and stayed above 80% for over 24 hr. Each of the three hatches took a little over 24hr. Now one chick is definitely dying and appears not to have sealed up all the way and one has a visibly swollen belly (both signs of too high humidity). Hatch one I worked my tail off and achieved high-enough humidity when our ambient conditions were low. Hatch two everything was easy. Hatch three, humidity was too high but what can I even do about it!? It’s a great machine, such a fun adventure. I recommend this endeavor and I think this machine is great for a novice (o had no experience at all before this).

This was my 1st time using an incubator. Hopefully I can provide some information to help others avoid a couple of my mistakes. I ordered quail eggs and of the 18 that went in, only 5 hatched. They were shipped eggs so not sure how much that may have contributed. I also think I had the humidity a bit too low during the 1st phase (35%-ish). My biggest problem was not understanding how the countdown timer worked. I set it for 18 days. It counts backwards from 18 to 1. I thought when the counter hit day 1 is when you put them in lock-down. I failed to understand that when the counter hits 15 is when I should have put them in lock-down and raised the humidity to 70-75%. I did raise the humidity once it hit day one, but I think it was too late for a lot of the eggs. Of the 5 that hatched, the 1st one could have drown in the water reservoir because in my excitement to get the turner tray removed and the dome back on, I forgot to put the small “lid” back over the water reservoir. It was when I was watching him/her and it decided to go for a swim I realized my mistake. Luckily I was able to quickly get him out, get that lid on and get them covered back up. He dried off and is doing fine. I did also cut some rubber shelf liner to put down under the eggs for lock-down so that when they hatch it lessens the chance for splay-legs. So far so good. As far as the incubator itself – It is easy to set up. I did keep a towel wrapped around the dome (not over the vent) to help keep the heat stable. It’s default is a 21 day hatch (chickens). It’s very easy to change that. The turn tray it comes with are for chickens. You can order one for quail directly from the company and there are some folks on Etsy that sell 3D printed ones. Luckily my husband has a 3D printing business and printed mine. The dome and base have 2 small notches. Make sure you line them up. It helps give a better seal to help retain heat and humidity. It’s very easy to unseat this. I do find the way you adjust the humidity to be easy in theory, but temperamental in execution. It’s via a well on the outside of the incubator. Depending on what “fill line” you use determines if your are filling for incubation or hatch (always fill with warm water – adjusts the humidity faster). I also ended up putting a damp sponge in there during lockdown to get the humidity up to 70%. The humidity where you live will probably impact this as well. The humidity seems to fluctuate a lot. I think having the incubator someplace where you can also have an external humidifier would help a with this. My biggest complaint with the incubator is that it doesn’t have a handle for the dome. The dome is awkward to grab with one hand and if you are just trying to tip up the lid to minimize heat/humidity loss as much as possible for removing dry chicks and done eggs it’s way too easy to lose control of it. All in all. It is a very inexpensive incubator, so obviously won’t have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive system. For someone that’s looking to get started with quail I think it’s a decent incubator. From what I've been reading, it's on par with some other models that are a bit expensive. I’m hopeful my next batch has a much better hatch rate now that I better understand how this one works.

*** UPDATE Last year was my first experience using this incubator. 8 out of 12 shipped eggs hatched. I used it again just last month and 6 hatched. I’m on my third round and on lockdown and as of today, all 12 are looking great. I tried two other incubators because I originally needed a larger one. Neither one had accurate humidity readings and one had ZERO way to adjust the humidity- no holes or window whatsoever to change air flow. This incubator is really the best I’ve tried. It’s a good size, works well, cleans up easily and has good results. I haven’t found unhatched eggs to be due to the incubator function- for whatever reason, they just weren’t good eggs to begin with, or just were quitters. If all the eggs are put in at the same time and they all experience the same temperature and humidity, and only some hatch- I think logically the problem lies with the eggs that didn’t hatch. They’re the only variable. I hatched chicks for the first time in my life with this. Out of 12 eggs, 2 didn’t make it past ten days, and 2 never hatched. 8 chicks hatched and it was a beautiful thing to watch. My kindergarteners loved it! It was very simple to use and my only recommendation would be to keep the incubator with you unless you can guarantee humidity where you keep it. I tried keeping it in my classroom the first 2 days and each day I arrived, the humidity was way too low so I was frantically putting in a damp sponge square to raise the levels asap. After this happening, I just took it home with me where someone was always around to check the humidity level. I don’t know if this was a flaw with the incubator, but I had to regulate it often. The temperature was always spot on but the humidity varied greatly. Just an fyi.

After using this incubator for the better part of 2 years, I'm throughly impressed by its features and its reliability. There is a transparent lid that allows you to easily monitor the egg hatching process without constantly opening and closing the lid which disturbs the eggs, thus maintaining a stable environment for the eggs. Functions ----------- This incubator has the capacity of 12 eggs, which is enough for the majority of hatching enthusiasts. The automatic egg turner is really a game changer, you no longer have to keep time and turn the eggs on your own, this incubator will ensure that the eggs are regularly and gently turned, simulating the natural environment and behavior of a mother hen. This features will save you lots of time and worry as egg turning is one of the most important factors in a successful hatch. Humidity display ----------------- The built in humidity display is a crucial feature and is the feature that sets this incubator apart from others. The digital display is bright and accurate and makes it easy to keep track of humidity levels and thus improving the chance of a successful hatch Egg candler ------------- The included egg candler function (you press a button and it lights up the egg) is a handy and welcomed function of the incubator, it allows you to check the progress of the embryos and allows you separate and discard the eggs that no longer have live embryos inside. Reliability ------------ This is one of the biggest determinant in me deciding which incubator to purchase, and thankfully this incubator has been extremely dependable throughout my 2 years of using it. The temperature and humidity controls are accurate, which goes a long way in increasing the likelihood of a successful hatch. Value for money ----------------- For its price (<$100), this incubator simply can't be beat on its value for money ratio. It's extremely cost effective and will enable not just enthusiasts but also beginners a chance to hatch eggs on their own. In conclusion, I believe the Kebonnisx 12 egg incubator is a well rounded, reliable and functional incubator for those wanting to hatch their own eggs. I highly recommend it!

10 of 12 eggs hatched. All 12 had a live embryo day 18. It seems to do the job of keeping the temperature right. I had to sometimes run a vaporizer when my house got too dry. I also had to run a dehumifier one week because it's the middle of winter but got up in the 60s and rainy. Depending on where you live and time of year, it might be good to have access to ways to change the environment if needed. I kept the incubator humidity around 50% days 1-18, then tried for 70% for lockdown but ended up at 68% mostly. While the eggs were hatching, I had huge spikes in humidity...in the 90% + range. They all had good air sacs going into lockdown. Like others have suggested, I made a mat from grippy shelf liner for hatching from the dollar store prior to placing the eggs in the beginning. Use the turning piece as a template (I included a picture of the mat I made). When it was time for lockdown on day 18, I was able to take the turning piece out, put the mat in, and then re-place the eggs quickly. All chicks that hatched were healthy with no leg issues. It is pretty crowded in there if 12 eggs take. I think the two that didn't hatch were at the mercy of the early / on time hatchers punting them around in there. The seller is pretty thorough with their instructions. Overall, I'm happy with this unit as 83% hatch rate isn't too shabby. I'm running another incubator right now and I think this one holds conditions steady better. As others have said, be sure that the little tabs on the lid are properly lined up or you will notice a temperature and humidity drop.

I bought this as a 3rd incubator to use exclusively as a hatcher because I had 2 full Brinsea Mini Advanced with a staggered hatch oncoming. I fully expected to only use it for this instance. Due to no fault of the incubators the hatch was a total fail (the eggs were severely scrambled by shipping, it was a shot in the dark to even try with them) so I bought more eggs.. and ended up with a LOT of them all at once. I had both the minis and this incubator full! In the end the Kebonix gave me the highest rate of eggs making it to lockdown. I also used it as the hatcher. It has a ton of room, a huge water reservoir, and you can refill it from outside (something only my mini adv II has, not my mini adv I) which were all points in its favor for hatching serama eggs. The turning method is gentle enough to use with small eggs successfully, but unlike the brinseas it doesn't rely on gear alignment- I've lost eggs to accidentally misaligning the gear on the brinseas and not noticing the eggs weren't turning whenever it beeped to do so. I also found out that the high temperature alarm works- a pet had pushed the things blocking direct sunlight from hitting the incubator and hearing the alarm probably saved the hatch! There is a little bit of ventilation control and the egg candler works fantastically. The best part is it has a HYGROMETER... thank goodness!!! Even if it is inaccurate (not saying it is, I'm honestly not totally sure) having an actual number to watch combined with marking and weighing your eggs is going to give you enough relative data points to control your humidity very well. Neutral points in comparison to the brinseas specifically, your control is not going to be nearly as granular. Do you need that granularity? Maybe. It depends on how experienced you are and what you're hatching. As far as I can tell it also does not have a cool down sequence. The menu and digital settings are a bit harder to navigate than the brinsea menus, and it makes an obnoxious beep literally every time you push a button. These are all things I can live with without real complaint, especially at this price point, but if you are hatching very exotic species that are decently far removed from the incubation parameters of chickens I would invest in something better. My big complaints for this incubator are just 2 things after running it for basically 3 months straight: the water reservoir's gaps are too big if you are hatching very small birds. Button quail might very well end up in the reservoir, and any size of chicken chick is at risk of getting their legs through these gaps. I didn't have this happen but I was also watching with extreme paranoia. In the future I will likely add something to close the gaps. Second, the exposed metal of the turning mechanism is also a part of the water reservoir, and it is unfortunately already rusting! I really like this incubator but anything that rusts that fast and has to be a hot, humid environment is not going to have staying power. If you are a first time hatcher or rarely hatch eggs you are probably not going to find a better incubator at this price point! It's honestly comparable to the brinsea at a fraction of the cost. The hygrometer is also a HUGE plus for a beginner, as is the built in egg candler (no misplacing anything, and listen I used my phone flashlight for years- it works but this thing is so much better, I promise.) If you find out you love hatching then the rust is only a problem if you refuse to ever replace it- mind you even my brinsea mini adv I has rust on the turning gear, but I've also used that one for the better part of a decade and for dozens of hatches. If you are in for the long haul on hatching I would still recommend the brinsea just because of the sturdiness of the machine and granular control, and for the programmable cooling period. Over all I love this thing and as someone who very, very rarely hatches anymore? I might sell my other incubators and just keep this one.

Guter Inkubator im vergleich mit einem ohne Luftfeuchtigkeit Kontrolle Hat im Vergleich ein deutlich besseres Ergebnis als ein günstigeres Teil 4 brutzyklen benutzt hatte ein gutes Ergebnis Aber waren trotzdem bei jedem Mal welche dabei die nicht geschlüpft sind obwohl geschiert und bei manchen Eiern musste ich nachhelfen und etwas Schale entfernen War ca. 50/50 erfolgsquote Ansonsten guter Inkubator man sieht alles hält Temperatur gut ist leicht zu bedienen Lautstärke ist annehmbar

Na doch recht kurzer Lieferzeit kam der inkubator bei mir an. Der Karton der Maschine war leicht beschädigt und geflickt. Ausgepackt und festgestellt das keine Anleitung vorhanden ist, kein Problem... man kennt die Dinger und es ist kein hexenwerk diese bedienen zu können.... jedoch ist es gar nicht möglich eine Temperatur oder Wendezeit einzustellen! Das Hygrometer zeigt praktisch immer die selben Werte an, im Bereich von 50-60% egal wie viel Wasser drin ist, oder wie weit die lüftungsöffnung offen ist... was natürlich am Hygrometer der Machine liegt, da mit externen getestet. Das Licht zum schieren der Eier war leider auch schon bei Erhalt defekt.... die Temperatur ist fix auf 100F eingestellt und hält sich dort angeblich gut... absoluter Blödsinn... die Temperatur pendelt von unten nach oben und variiert dabei um satte 3 Grad ! Somit ist ein ausbrüten eig unmöglich... schade, da er doch vom Material her einen sehr guten Eindruck macht. Geht natürlich zurück...
