I've been playing guitar for many years and if this was my first guitar I probably would be a better player. It arrived in perfect condition and is a great player without set up. Make sure to de tune the strings before adding the spring for the tremolo bar and then exercise the strings after re tuning. Mine stays in tune perfectly. Fit and finish on mine are perfect. The neck is smooth...the frets are filed and even. The finish is a beautiful yellow gold with bright silver hardware and amazing tailpiece. Pick ups sound good. Pick up volume and tone controls are a little different but make sense. Fret inlay is beautiful, but I need to retrain myself to use the neck dots. Action is low and fast on mine. For the money...this is an amazing guitar...in my opinion... and you have a choice of blue or yellow/gold..and it looks really cool. You also get a cheap gig bag, an extra set of strings and some picks. I'm a believer and if you have $230, Don't hesitate on this one.

Snap! My expectations weren't that high by all the reviews. It might be hit and miss but the guitar delivered to me today is smashing! The finish and craftsmanship are spot on. The frets are level, the neck is perfect. No bars on the frets but they could use a little polish but WOW! I replaced the string tree with roller trees. These pickups sound really good. I expect I will have to replace the cheap pots but will want to leave the pickups. The tuners are super cheap. They seem to hold a tune when using the tremolo but you can tell when you turn them that they are lower on the scale of quality. I own an eighties Japanese Charvel which has been my mainstay for a decade. I have a Gibson Songwriter and recently purchased a Fesley guitar. I expect that this ZUWEI may likely be my favorite after about a week. Would I recommend this guitar... yes, in a heartbeat!

For the money this is actually a decent guitar that visually will turn heads and have your friends exclaim, "what is THAT?". You will need to have it set up as the action is a high and the spring for the “Bigsby” is a little too long so you’ll either need to get a new spring or cut down the one it comes with. The guitar is lightweight, the frets were smooth and the neck felt great, also the paint job is well done and the inlays look fantastic. The pickups sound decent and with a proper set-up it will be a nice guitar to have in your arsenal for the price (once I had it set up it played really well). The gig bag is just a thin nylon bag (no padding) and it won't protect the guitar at all so you’ll need to get one that actually has padding. I am mostly a Gretsch player and bought this guitar because it piqued my interest. Gretsch guitars mostly have one master volume knob for both pickups on the cutaway of their guitars so I was expecting the volume knob on the horn of this guitar to be a master volume but it turned out to be the volume knob for the neck pickup. The second volume knob near the bridge is for the bridge pickup and then it has a tone knob at the very bottom. I did have the guitar modified (look at picture) and had the wiring rerouted to have the knob on the horn be a master volume knob and then had another knob pot drilled and inserted down with the other two knobs to have a neck volume, bridge volume and tone knob grouped together. You obviously don’t have to have to rewire the guitar as I did to have a decent sounding, inexpensive guitar but also remember it is what it is and at this price you actually do get a little more than you might expect. However, if you’re expecting to have a guitar that sounds as if it costs $1000 or more you will be disappointed, but if you’re interested in a quirky, really beautiful looking, decent sounding guitar to play around with this will fit the bill.

Pros: pots are smooth. Was set up and intonated out of the box. Body finish and inlay are nicely done. Pickups have a decent sound and would be useable for beginner to intermediate. Cons: Not nearly as good as other, more celebrated cheap brands. Thought I’d try it because I’ve been wanting a bigsby tele to add to the arsenal; this one piqued my interest. It will be fine and I’ll use it, and I’ll put better sounding pickups in it. But it has a ton of quality issues. The other cheap brands that get all the hype are hyped for a reason: they are actually very good. This one not so much. It feels and looks cheap. Tuners are plastic and break/scuff easily. Bridge is cheap plastic. Bigsby doesn’t hold tune and is noisy, and is made of cheap plastic and metal. Sawdust and debris all inside the cavity. The nut slides around in its slot. The neck and headstock finish is rough and headstock has nicks in the wood and other marks of poor craftsmanship. The strap button was broken on arrival and was smashed in to the wood of the body making a noticeable divot. In general, it just doesn’t have that feel when you pick it up of a nice guitar. When I get an IYV or a Firefly in the mail, I unbox it and hold it and immediately go, this is a well crafted instrument. This Zuwei just doesn’t have that. It’s like going back to the old days of you get what you pay for. To sum up: this would certainly be an outstanding guitar for someone learning or someone who is a bit less experienced. It just doesn’t have that magical “I can’t believe they quality I got for this price” thing that, well, let’s face it, we’ve all started to get used to in the last few years. It’s exactly what it should be at the price. Which makes it…not a great purchase. Because, well, IYV and Firefly do exist.

This is a very nice guutar for the money. It appears to be made out of "luan", however ait actually sounds nice. No hum in the pickup or pots. I am quite impressed!
