I ordered a packet of Joseph Dobson & Sons Butter Mintoes Sweets (200g) because I could not get hold of my usual brand of butter mintoes during lockdown. The sweets arrived on time and were well packaged.I enjoyed the taste of the butter mintoes; however, I expected these sweets to have a soft chewy centre like the other brands of butter mintoes I have purchased. Unfortunately, these sweets were hard boiled throughout and did not have the chewy centre that I expected. The sweets have a mild minty flavour with a buttery finish, which is very pleasant. They are very hard, like an old-fashioned boiled sweet, and have to be sucked to the end.Overall, I enjoyed these sweets but they were not the soft-centred butter mintoes that I really enjoy and therefore I will not be purchasing them again. Fans of traditional hard-boiled mints will not be disappointed by these sweets.

DO NOT BUY THESE. EVERY SINGLE BAG CONTAINS SWEETS ALL STUCK TOGETHER. THEY ARRIVE AS JUST ONE LARGE MINTOE BECAUSE. IN ORDER TO EAT ONE YOU NEED TO USE A TOFFEE HAMMER. THIS MAKES A MESS AND SEEMS TO CAUSE A SCIENTIFIC REACTION, WHICH MAKES THEM TASTE LIKE A MEDICATION, SUCH AS THOSE ASKIT POWDERS. HORRIBLE TASTE! I WOULD SEND THEM BACK BUT CURRENTLY CAN'T GET TO THE POST OFFICE. THE BEST ONES ARE THOSE WHICH ARE INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED.
