GE Home Security Alarm System Panel Battery 6V 1.2Ah

These batteries are very good. I just discovered that the charging system is not working correctly so they might be even better than I previously thought.

I had to replace a battery for my alarm system. The one I just got less than 6 months ago went bad. I tried to order one that was from a different manufacturer than the bad one I had gotten, and this looked different, but would fit.Unfortunately the vendor sent me exactly the same one I had previously and not the version with the artwork as shown in the ad. The battery was the right size/type/style, but I am a bit leary that it will end up in the recycling just like the one I had that went bust. I'll have to update you as time goes by.

My battery was used in an alarm system like most users. It died after 14 months. Since it has an 18 month warranty, I thought to just give them a call for warranty replacement or adjustment. Customer service was non-existent. More than 10 calls during their stated business hours went unanswered. I would get transferred repeatedly by their system and wind up with "extension 200" where I a recording said the person was unavailable and to leave a Message. I did so twice and weeks later still no response. They hype their excellent customer service on this product site and on their web page, but it is just marketing bull.The product itself is just a relabeled generic Chinese made battery. When I pulled back their brand label, it showed it was made by Bright Way Group in China and externally looked the same as the other Chinese made batteries on Amazon.My original Chinese made battery that came with my ADT alarm system was much better and lasted 4 1/2 years. This one only made 14 months. I definitely do not recommend this brand.

After my GE home security system kept informing me very annoyingly that the backup battery was low and once I figured out where it was I went to order a replacement online. I chose this battery as it was the proper size, voltage and amps per hour. The battery arrived very quickly and I easily installed it. As others had indicated, it took about 24 hours of charging before the system stopped the annoying beeping. It has been running excellently ever since.The battery seems to functioning like a champ although it has only been about 1 month since I installed it. I guess time will tell if the battery holds up.

Not sure why Amazon wants a review on this. It is only a battery. However, our alarm system at work takes a specific battery. I did a Google search and this is the battery that came up. I bought it and installed it as soon as it got to the office. It has been working like a champ every since.

After two years, the original battery in our home system was losing function. We knew this because we continued to get daily messages on our telephone from the security company to change the battery. Apparently there was enough life in the original battery to give us time to order and replace the battery. Removing the original battery and putting in the replacement required some frustrating manipulation of each battery (old and new) but eventually the removal and then the insertion was accomplished. None of this was the fault of the battery per se, but of the design of the security box. Battery works like a champ, and no more phone calls that the battery needed replacement.

This battery worked with my Simon 3 wireless alarm system. The battery does not come with any directions but its simple to connect. Just know once you install the new battery, the system status light that is telling you system low battery will take around 24 hours to finally turn off.
