Review: Great knife at an amazing price - I love this thing. So much so that I've bought 4 of them so far. Not because they break or wear out, rather because they are so inexpensive that I immediately replace them every time I misplace one instead of waiting to find it. Speaking of which, I lost one in my yard and found it about 4 months later. I rinsed off the dirt and grime, shook the water out, sprayed it with WD-40 and then wiped it, and you'd never know it had laid in dirt for 4 months. I sharpen it frequently with a pocket knife sharpener and it takes a nice edge quickly and effortlessly and after 6 months, the blade hasn't worn down significantly yet. I'm traveling for 2 weeks and feel lost without a knife, so I'm ordering another and will just leave it at my host's house for then next time I visit. ;)
Review: Very useful! - I love this knife! I have done so many things with it. From opening paint cans to opening tons of packages. Even digging holes for landscaping stakes. This knife has never failed me and I’ve ordered another for my emergency camp bag. Highly recommend. A great knife for a great price

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The product description describes this as "spring assisted" which is tecnically "switch blade" so I was wondering if this is legal in all states.**
A: I Think this should answer your question. (I found this on wildbillwholesale.com)Switchblade knives were invented in the early part of the 20th century. During the 1950's the switchblade got a bad reputation as it was identified with gangs which were popularized by such movies as "On the Waterfront", etc. As a result in the late 1950's most states passed laws outlawing the possession of switchblade knives. A Federal statute was passed to make it unlawful to ship switchblades across state lines, unless being shipped to a law enforcement or military agency. Here we will explain the difference between illegal switchblade knives, and legal spring assisted opening knives. All switchblades have some characteristics in common. They have a spring which exerts constant pressure on the blade. The knife is held in the closed position by the mechanism of the knife. This mechanism is released by depressing the button (which all switchblades have), allowing the stored energy the spring is exerting on the blade to propel the blade from the handle and open the knife. It is important to remember that the natural position of the switchblade knife is OPEN, it is held closed only by the locking mechanism. On the other hand, the natural position of the spring assisted opening knife is CLOSED. There is no pressure being exerted upon the blade, and there is no button to push. Spring assisted knives employ the following opening methods:1) A "Flipper" or lever which is located on the back spine of the knife. This flipper is actually an integral part of the blade which protrudes from the back spine of the knife when it is in the closed position. This is the most common opening mechanism of spring assisted knives.2). A thumb stud, the same as is found on most all tactical folding knives. In either case, either flicking the "flipper" or pushing out the thumb stud begins opening the blade, at which point the assisted opening mechanism takes over and finishes opening the blade. Performance wise, there is very little (if any) difference in the opening speed of a switchblade and a spring assisted knife. However, the differences in the way they are made make the spring assisted knives legal in all 50 U.S. states (They are not legal in the 5 boroughs of New York City, but this is because all locking blade knives have been held to be illegal in NYC, not just the spring assisted ones)

**Q: How to close the knife? I opened it and seems it's stuck. Thanks!**
A: Within the sleeve there is a lever that locks it into an open position...push it to the left and close the blade.

**Q: well i just recieved one, and i opened it and i cant get it to close...**
A: On the top of the handle near the blade's hilt or pivot screw there should be a raised nub of metal with lines going across. Pull rearward on this with your index finger to open the knife. Unlike a switchblade where the knife blade is ejected from inside the handle of the knife, these blades pivot open in an arc from the handle. To close the knife there is a piece of the underside of the knife integrated with the handle that locks the blade in place. You must push this piece to the left with your thumb while simultaneously pushing the blade toward you with your index finger. One the blade is at a right angle to the handle move your thumb to the back of the blade and continue to pull it toward you until it is safely inside the handle. Note this is a guide. Not responsible if you cut yourself by coming in contact with the blade.

**Q: How does this knife (and the family of knives) compare with a Kershaw?**
A: These don't hold a candle to Kershaw, CRKT (Columbia River Knife & Tool), Gerber, Zero Tolerance, Emerson, Spyderco, etc. I own over 50 different "tactical" knives for all situations. Tac-force is decent around the overnight camping trip or canoeing. Fine at the house, the shop or to use at work or on farm. and in the event one were to lose it. Your out less than $20 instead of $50-$500. Not meant for downrange or working in the drink. It is as advertised and I plan to buy a few more just to keep. Also, don't use these to gut and clean wild game. Those of us who do alot of hunting should have set of blades and other tools for that purpose.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fast, solid, and great for the bugout bag!
*by L***K on September 21, 2015*

I like to think of myself as the Queen of budget buying. This has not always been the case, but due to retirement and being on a fixed income, I get to spend lots of time finding the best thing I can for the best price that doesn't make me say ... "will this mean I don't get to eat when I'm 87?" Well fortunately, this purchase may help with that. Because while I may not have the money to eat when I'm 87, I will have this knife, and will be able to take down rabbits and groundhogs with the spear I will be able to make from it. And then eat them. But I digress. My favorite knife was a Tekna divers knife that I had for many years and strapped it to my thigh or upper arm while ... no, not diving ... camping and hiking throughout the East coast and up into Canada. That knife was a beast. A solid hunk of stainless steel, serrated at the base, skeleton handle, and unbreakable ABS sheath with Velcro straps. Eventually I sold it to a nice guy in Hawaii who was buying it for his grandson whom he was teaching to dive. I'm sure that knife could capably rip through a sharks throat. A better use for it than just sitting around after I stopped camping and hiking as much. I found a Colt branded folder on closeout that I really liked. But I like it so much I didn't want to use it and mess it up. So it stays in a drawer. I have a few Mora knives that are awesome, but I needed a knife that would fold, open quickly, and not be a great loss if it got taken away by zealous authorities wanting to protect society from an elderly motorcycle-riding lady with a knife. So I got this knife. And it is great. Sharp. Pops open easily even with these mildly-arthritic hands. Locks securely. Not tiny, nor light, nor compact, that's for sure. But hey, when I reach into my pocket I can FIND it straight away, no doubts there. Just a great value and you know what? Survivalists say to have a stock of some items to trade for necessities you might not have in case of the zombie apocalypse. What could be MORE tradeable than a cool knife like this? Pop a half-dozen of these in that bugout bag!
