This is a Lovely Covered Casserole Dish
This dish is larger than it looks in the photo. I was rather surprised that it was as large as it was. My daughter and I both collect Portmeirion tableware. She was delighted to receive it as a Christmas gift.

This is a very nice casserole. Yes, it's made in China and it's thinner than the original Portmeirions made in England, but I picked it up today for $35 at home goods, so it's value for money! It still looks like Portmeirion and I actually like the fact that it's not so heavy, makes washing easier.

Quality
I love the Portmeirion line of dishes as they are made in England. THIS PIECE WAS MADE IN CHINA. Amazon stated "Made in England"...not SO! Caution when ordering Portmeirion via Amazon...ensure the pieces are made in England!

Oval covered casserole
Because it is made in China, it is an inferior product compared to what is made in England. There appears to be a lack of quality control of portmeirion products manufactured in China which I addressed in a e-mail to the home office. Their quality control people work out of Hong Kong so I don't think they spend as much time in mainline China because they are having too much fun in Hong Kong. Pormeirion products made in China are thinner, more fragile and the colors are duller.
