This replacement hose perfectly fit a Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away vacuum model NV501 and the vacuum is back to working as before which is much better than when I tried to use duck tape to hold the slit in the hose together. Both the handle and the bottom of the hose snap into place just like the original and the handle colors are the same. I wonder if the reviewers who had trouble with the part had vacuums that were not one of the listed models. Shark makes many similar vacuums with slightly different connectors and it only puts the model number in tiny print on a label on the vacuum. The photo shows the new replacement hose snapped onto the old vacuum. i don't see any reason to call this replacement hose an "upgrade", but it seems to be of similar quality to the original. One minor difference from the original part is that it does not have the ring part that holds the middle of the hose to the vacuum body. But that part is not necessary, although I might try to cut the ring off the old hose and put it on this replacement hose as described by other reviewers. Also, the photo for the listing does not show the ring so I knew what I was getting. If I could give half stars in the rating, I would rate this as a "4.5" due to the lack of the ring part. I did also check the Shark official website to see if an OEM replacement part was available, but strangely, the website was less than clear about part and model compatibility and didn't show a photo of the replacement part for my model, plus it was more than double the cost of this one. The original part was about 4.5 years old. I hope this replacement lasts as long.

Needed a replacement part and this fit on my Shark vacuum perfectly. Has held up for well over a year now and is excellent quality. Functions just like the original part. Was simple to connect.

This replacement handle and hose absolutely ROCK!! It functions FAR better than the original one I replaced. First, the hose. The original hose was ALWAYS stiff and NEVER expanded like it should since the day I bought it, so whenever I was using tools and trying to vacuum cobwebs from the ceiling, for example, I always had issues with the entire vacuum falling over even if I just tried to stretch the hose a LITTLE bit to reach something. Not only was it very stiff, it was brittle, and started developing cracks in the hose that I had to use duct tape on to keep the suction going properly. The original hose finally broke off entirely right at the handle. THIS hose, on the replacement hose handle, is VERY flexible, expands easily, and compresses right back into shape like it should. No more vacuum falling over! Additionally, there is a new feature on the handle that controls the suction strength. While the sliding tab to put the suction looks the same, they added a little metal tab which keeps the setting where you set it, so it can't accidentally change by itself while being used, like the old handle was prone to doing. I'm seriously impressed with this. Funny how a simple change of a part can make something so much better to use.

Hose on my vacuum split and thought I was going to have to buy new vacuum until I found this, easy to install plug n play. Vacuum works like new again.
