Don't know how I ever lived without it!
Much more versatile that the ungainly thing with suction-cup ends I used to use. I especially like the change of direction in the end. It is stable to prop against a table, chair or bed when the end is turned at a right angle from the handle, but can be turned 90 degrees to get into narrow areas when needed. It is strong enough for most things.... be reasonable now. It can pick up something as wide as a 14 oz can but not much wider, It is easy to pluck kleenex out of a box, open a cabinet or grab a box of something off a high shelf, reach something down between the washer and dryer, help you put on clothes, pick up tweezers off the floor. retrieve mail from an awkward spot, etc. etc.Over a year later: How much do I like this? I have bought one for me, my mom, My grand nieces ( because they couldn't put them down when visiting mom or me), and Mom had me get one for her friend (also a senior) and she loves it too! Mine gets used a lot and hasn't worn out a bit. It can still pick up something as small as lint off the rug or wrestle a short but wide box out from places I can't get down to. 2 year update: Finally died on me, but from the wrong use. I do not think this can break under regular use. I was getting a possum out of an unusual spot and tried hitting it on its way out. Broke the end where it attached into the pole. I want to get another one but it is not available in the 26" size. I think they are messing with "improving" it. Hope the 'new' one works as great as this one. Used daily for 2 years and never a disappointment.

Best grabbers I’ve ever found!
Yes, Best grabbers I’ve ever found! Use all three sizes of this grabber model constantly. No others compare at all. This grabber design is able to allow me to pick up even the smallest, most delicate items ever!I had to go back in the hospital recently and brought the shortest one with me. All the nurses were really impressed, claiming they’d never seen one like these before. It helps them too, because if I drop something from the bed to the floor, or it is simply out of my reach, I don’t have to pester a nurse to come get the thing I dropped or can’t reach. It makes me feel a bit more independent, and saves the nurse having to come to my room just to pick up something I need but can’t get myself. One caveat: the first one I bought I accidentally leaned on heavily as if it was a cane, and broke it. :-( But 2 days later, I had my replacement, and having found the one so useful, order this device in two other handle lengths too.Won’t be without one again! With other ones, no way could I use it to get a glass from a shelf. With this grabber design, it’s a breeze and I never worry about any loss of grip causing the glass to slip and crash in pieces on the floor. It’s rubberized inner surface makes its ability to grab and hold anything securely. Thank you, makers of this grabbing device, you’ve made life so much easier!

Works for me
I admit I haven't tried any other grabber, bought this one cause it said it would pick up small objects and had rubber grippers. I got one then ordered two more! It will pick up things that are hard to pick up with fingers. Very small test strips on a wooden floor, small pills, single sheet of paper (without mangling it if you are gentle with the grip part), pens, and so on. I bought them for picking up off the floor. One day while sitting at my desk, I reached up with it and pulled a small notebook off the bookshelf above my head, to see if it would work. It did fine, and I was even able to grasp the binder and put it back on the shelf. I often have heavy 12x12x 2.5 inch boxes that I put on the floor. The grabber doesn't pick them up, but does grab them enough that I can bring them up and take hold of them without having to bend over from my desk chair, which is really all I need. It might work actually lifting them, but they are heavy and I don't really have the strength to manage it for the full lift. Mostly I wanted this for small objects and it meets my needs completely. It has been a nice surprise for larger objects and reaching under things to retrieve something. I am also glad I bought the shorter length for around my desk and lounge chair. I bought the longer one for the the kitchen, which is great for those top shelf things.

Even picked up the BACK of an earring! Amazing!
I'm an OT that outfitted my house ahead of time for my scheduled lumbar fusion. I choose this reacher in part due to features and also due to the views. What can I say other than this has literally been my "right hand" if reaching outside your base of support or no bending allowed due to post-surgical precaution is or will be part of your future order one of these reachers. My brother is having knee surgery today and one is on its way to his house as I type ' I ordered the 26 inch thinking it would work best for me to use when sitting and would also reach the ground if I was standing (I'm a very short 5'1") in true I do have to slightly bend at knees to pick up from the floor while standing to remain in compliance of no bending at back. My brother is 5'9" and I ordered hm the longer 32". If a reacher is going to be a long term friend I'd probably Oder the 32 for floor pick ups and the 19 for immediate area while sitting. This reacher allows a horizontal and vertical grasp. I use the horizontal most. It is both strong and dexterous. I had an earring BACK fall off in the shower and yes I picked it up on the first try! I have also been able to retrieve a pill from the floor before the dogs could race over and scarf it down! Only real challenge has been a slippery ice cube but with persistence I even grasp that! Good luck and good health to all

Great Reacher
I like thes reachers. I have 3 myself and I sent 3 different lengths to a friend for Christmas. She was telling me she drops ice cubes on the floor and can’t pick them up holding on to her walker. That’s whe I thought of sending these reachers to her. They’re great for a lot of things but picking up ice cubes is one thing I do almost every day. I keep one hanging on my walker so it’s always nearby. It’s light weight and sturdy. I bought a different brand from a shopping network and sent it back immediately because it was so heavy. I have a 26” hanging on my walker and a 32” in the house in case I need a longer reach. I sent my friend a 19” and 32” 2 pack and a 26”. She was thrilled and is going to keep one on each level of her house.
