I have had these cups for about 4 months, since we tried them at a vacation house we rented and I noticed that, amazingly, with only two pieces, the cups were leaking less than our multi-valve/straw what have you cups. The biggest pros in my mind for these cups are: 1) as another reviewer noted--there are only two pieces! No more buying weird pipe cleaner products to clean out moldy straws or valves. No more !@#$!* searching for missing pieces that turn a "leak-proof" cup into a sieve. Awesome. 2)Just like an escalator...these cups don't really "break" especially if you are giving to a toddler. If I lose a lid or it cracks (yes these cups aren't invincible) then I have a simple, lid-less plastic cup that my son can use (now 25 months) to drink at dinner when he wants a "big boy" cup. I'm not dumb enough to fill it to the top but I don't have to worry that if he drops it, it will break into a million pieces. Also the cups are inexpensive enough that if you do lose enough lids just buy another 5 pack (look on the packaging actually 5 not 4 cups). (Escalators never "break" because when they do they just become stairs) 3) I got these cups in the larger size (reviews on the smaller size are also helpful and spot on) becuase my son is older and I wanted to be able to send him to daycare with a full cup and not worry about refilling too frequently. I like the larger size which I find more useful for older kids, the travel spout cover is nice until you lose it but you don't really need it (unless you plan to throw in your bag upside down for long periods or something). 4) these really are incredibly leak proof--no complaints at day care, I've thrown the cup (no special spout cover) into my purse and pulled it out later with no leaks. I haven't had many problems with lids popping off although I imagine that after enough runs through the dishwasher the lids will warp or lose some of their suction, but amazingly these tend to work better than all the other fancy sippy cups I bought. I kept our old cups (that we still had pieces to) for my son's night time water that he sometimes sleeps with, thinking we wouldn't want to use these at night in case of spills. Of course I didn't tell my husband this obvious deduction and discovered he had been sending my son to bed with these for many nights with no issues (after I found one upside down in the crib, no leaks, while changing the sheets). No such luck with a tommy tippee cup I bought with a screw on lid. So these really are good enough to replace all your cups. 5) I like that they encourage proper drinking habits. Not only can you use without a lid at the dinner table, but this style of cups (as opposed to straw cups) obviously encourages the proper drinking posture a little more. When my son switched over to these as his regular cups he stopped just holding cups to his lips, head down, expecting "straw suction" to bring the liquid to his lips. He's also getting older now but obviously this is a good habit to encourage early. I think my next kid will probably transition from bottles straight to these. 6) Since they stack they don't take up too much real estate in the cupboards. Given the encroachment of all of my son's belongings everywhere else in the house this is nice. 7) Cheap enough to "toss" but don't let the name fool you, the reviews of the smaller size say you can recycle them so depending on your community recycling program you don't have to feel bad about "tossing" and again they work fine as actual, non-glass kids cups if the lid stops working. I doubt many of us would actually toss these after each individual use or trip but these are also great to buy when traveling or to send ahead of yourself to relatives or grandparents as cups you can use when away from home but don't feel too bad losing or leaving behind (as we all do) when traveling--just remember to keep your own stash at home!

Initially overwhelmed by the vast array of sippy cups on the market, I didn't want to invest too much money when I wasn't sure what would work well for my child and family. Also, some of the cups out there are $12 a piece, and it seemed like I would have to buy quite a few to send to daycare and wash regularly for use at home. On a whim, I ordered these cups because they were so cheap; even if they were horrible, I wouldn't exactly be out a lot of money. Well, they were great. This is the main cup my child uses. I am not a big fan of using plastics, but they seem to work the best for us here. We do have some glass and metal products, but they are heavy and expensive, and I always worry they are going to break (the glass, obviously) or get lost or damaged. I do not actually "toss" these plastic cups; I reuse them again and again, but I don't sweat it if I lose one. The cups themselves seem very durable but the lids get a bit worn down over time (they get a bit crushed in the mouth or the plastic "shreds" slightly on the teeth). I've had much more expensive cups get damaged more easily, though. I will say that the lids leak a little if the child straight out turns the cup upside down, but the liquid generally just comes out in small, slow drops. And of course, the lid can occasionally come off if it's dropped very hard, for example, especially if it wasn't on quite as tight as it should have been. Overall, I find the cups pretty leak resistant, though! The lids are transitional for us anyway, and when my child can drink from a regular cup, we can continue to use these without lids. Of course they're not the nicest cups in the world; the plastic is fairly thin, but come on, they're so cheap! And they're way easier to clean than most of the straws and valves on fancier cups. I just pop them in the dishwasher and that's it! Super easy, super cheap, super convenient, all around.

These cups come in attractive colors, they are very easy to clean, contents won’t spill if it has the lid on but obviously it will spill a little from the spout because it does not have any mechanism that stops it which I’m ok with because it’s easy for me when I have to wash them, since they are all see-through you can easily see and make sure there’s no mold build up. The quality is great for the price, they are disposable but I have been reusing them because I noticed my son likes them, they are easy to drink from, and also they are easy to hold for little hands, it comes with one cap and I love love love that! Lol because I can just put the cap on and put it in his bag and no spill while traveling or I can just cover the spout when he is not drinking, I wish it came with at least 2 caps. One thing that I want to point out and maybe it’s not a big deal but for my son it is, is that the red and orange cup came with blue lids which really upsets my son when lid and cup colors don’t match 😂. I have similar cups from a different brand and they all match in colors lid & cup and my son loves that color coordination thing, but these ones unfortunately came with 2 blue lids lol. Anyway I really love these cups and may buy more in the future.

I've been using these cups for my kids for the past 5 years. They're not my kids go-to cups - mostly because they tend to leak - but I do like them for a number of reasons. positives: 1. Cheap! If we lose them, I don't feel too bad about it. We've gone through 3 or 4 packs over the past few years. I think I've spent more money on my kids' Nalgene bottles than the total of what we spent on the 3 or 4 packs of these. 2. Easy to pop-in my purse or travel bag! I use these cups primarily for restaurants and travel. My youngest can't use a cup with a straw without spilling it on himself or all over the table so we take these cups to restaurants instead! They're lightweight and don't take up much space in my purse. It's especially nice that I can stack a few in my purse at the same time. 3. Easy to use. I think my kids were all around 1 year old when they started using these cups. I think they're a great transition from a bottle to a more leak-proof cup. It's easy for the little guys to hold and suck up the liquid. Negatives: 1. Not leak proof. These things tip over, they will leak. No question about it. 2. Lids come off quite easy. If the kids drop the cup, 99% of the time the lid will pop off completely and the liquid will go everywhere. It's happened to us multiple times. This is why I've never used these cups as my kids' primary cup. 3. Spout is hard to clean and will collect mold. Best way to clean these spouts is to use a straw brush. You can't get in all the crevices with a sponge or rag. I've seen mold build up in the spout if it's not cleaned properly! In conclusion, yes, I'd recommend for travel or restaurant use. Don't get these as your kids primary cup or you'll be cleaning up messes all day!

We love this product and I will buy it again. The lid seals tightly preventing spills. Since we have started using these cups with our two toddlers the spills in our house have decrease dramatically. They are able to carry these cups around with them all day so I know for sure they are getting enough water. I also really like that there are many different colors so my kids can keep up with which one belongs to them each day and they can each have their favorite color. The price is very reasonable and makes it no big deal if they happen to leave their cup somewhere like at the park. We can just buy another pack. I usually hand wash ours, but they are also dishwasher safe which makes them very convenient with a big family. Overall, my kids love having their own cup to carry around. It makes it easy for me to make sure that they have the water they need through the day. The cups are very sturdy and last a while and they are reasonably priced for when you need to reorder. I am very happy with our purchase of The First Years Take & Toss Spill-Proof Sippy Cups.

My child is a bit of a bottle and sippy cup snob. We/he love his weighted, strawed sippy cups when he's drinking water but the transition from bottle to sippy cup for milk has not been easy. We have tried several kinds of sippy cups to get him to take his milk in anything other than a bottle and he would throw a fit with each one (even ones he drinks water from no problem). These sippy cups are cheap and I really wish we had started with these as an option! My son immediately took to them and loves them. He has no problem drinking milk from them and we have officially transitioned off of bottles thanks to these sippy cups!! I will say, they aren't entirely spill proof; if he holds it upside down for a while, milk will start to drip out of the spout. He also bit the lid off once when drinking (happened to be on my lap) and milk got all over both of us. I'm just so thrilled he's drinking milk out of something other than a bottle that I'm willing to overlook those issues. At this price, it's really worth trying if you're kid is picky about their cups!

I've used these for the last year for my now two year old daughter for milk and water and I love them. They're easy to wash (top rack of the dishwasher) and easy to use. I have two sets and I would buy again if I needed to. They've stood up to every day use and a teething toddler. The only time I don't use these is if I'm heading out for the entire day. At that point I prefer to store her milk and water in thermos type bottles to keep it cold and to make sure they don't leak in my bag. They can leak if it gets dropped, but the lids have always stayed on so I'm only cleaning up a few stray drops. The travel cap was a great source of amusement for my daughter once she figured out how to pull it on and off. I wish they came with more travel caps because it's easy to pull off and now I have no idea where they've disappeared to.

I bought these so my daughter would transition from drinking milk in the bottle to drinking from sippy cups - tried several sippy cups but these were the only ones she accepted drinking the milk from, probably because they also have something that resembles a nipple. In any case, pros are: very lightweight, go in the dishwasher and my daughter has fun picking the color combination from which she wants to drink every day - mixing and matching cup and lid colors. Little silicone capindeed closes it well and make them portable. Cons: they've opened already several times, spilling all the milk and making a huge mess. I agree that it might be also due to the fact that my daughter sometimes holds them only with her mouth and throws them on the floor. But that defeats our purpose of use, since she sometimes did that with bottles and they never opened. A screw closing system would be much better. Other con is that there is only one silicon cap, so you have to constantly wash it and transfer from cup to cup.
