The Swiss Army knife “you” should own. If you want a pocket knife that will be useful every day and slip into any pocket without being in the way, this is the one. It weighs nothing but has the most important tools for everyday issues. The scissors are large enough to cut tags off clothes, trim fingernails and hangnails, the corkscrew will open wine bottles and untie knots that are super stuck, it has a pen and a bottle opener. It’s a perfectly sized knife until you need a big one. Comes with an eyeglass screwdriver, a straight pin and even a small nail file. You can tighten loose screws with the cap lifter/can opener and the tweezers can be very handy, especially for splinter removal. If you need more than this in your pocket, Victorinox makes many other Swiss Army knives, they just weigh more and get bigger or thicker. Or consider an actual multi tool with pliers like the many offerings from Leatherman, or the very nice Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit X. (Actually the nicest multi tool I own) And remember this makes a great gift for the man who has everything, the price is right especially considering that high quality and great looks

YouTubers rave about the Compact, and I've always resisted purchasing one so I wouldn't feel like I'm blindly following the advice of EDC influencers. Well, I gifted one to my mom 2 years ago for Christmas and she loves it. I finally got tired of missing some features on my Climber and Pioneer X, so I finally bought the Compact when it was on sale last year and haven't looked back. It is the best Victorinox SAK for daily pocket carry. It has the tools you want and eliminates some of the crap you never use on wider SAKs. Best of all, it is slim and lightweight. It is noticeably lighter than the 3- and 4-layer SAKs I am used to. I really appreciate eliminating the redundancy of the can opener and bottle opener by combining them into one tool. Has anyone used the can opener in the last 10 years? Waste of space. No wood saw or small pen blade either. That allows 3 main tools overlapping in 2 layers. The reverse nail nick on the scissors is annoying compared to the traditional placement on the Climber, but it is much easier to access than the reverse nail nick on the Pioneer X. It also improves upon the secondary tools by adding 2 things in the same tool set. The useless parcel hook is still included, but at least they add a diamond file to the spine. Why don't they do this for every parcel hook? They also include the micro driver in the corkscrew, which is something you have to buy separately for most SAKs. I don't understand the choices by Victorinox sometimes. These are things that should be included with every hook and corkscrew. The ballpoint pen is fine. I carry a nice pen daily so it's not something I've ever needed on my SAK. I tried it out, and it'll work in a pinch. Don't expect to write a letter with it though. For anyone on the fence whether they should get a Compact because they already own an SAK. Trust me, it's worth the upgrade if you want to slim down your EDC.

So I’ve been carrying and using Swiss Army knives since I was a boy in the scouts. I’ve had many different models over the years and I kept seeing people do reviews and talk about how great this knife was. I resisted purchasing one for a long time simply because I thought well I already have tools that have more on them or there’s cheaper options. But I managed to snag one of these when it was on sale and I have to say that I am very, very pleased with this model. It covers all the basics it has the superb scissors that frankly no one else can beat at least in terms of sharpness. there are some brands that have larger scissors, but these still in my opinion, cut the best. You still have your standard tools, but it also does comes with a little pressurized pen, which I didn’t think I would use it that much but there have been one or two times where I have misplaced my pen and it is nice just to have it there as a back up. I attached one of the little aftermarket dangler clips to the keychain and it fits perfectly in my pocket, I don’t know what I’ll use the pin for, but the little mini screwdriver is actually perfect to adjust my glasses. I almost would’ve preferred a Phillips screwdriver in place of the corkscrew as I never have the occasion open wine bottles at work, but Having the attached mini driver is a nice touch. The little file on the back of the hook is nice and all the other tools work just as well on the other Swiss Army knives. Now I’m not sure why it cost so much at regular price. I guess maybe it’s because of the pen but it’s a fantastic EDC pocket knife And you really can’t go wrong using it. so after many years of saying no I don’t need it, and I finally got one and I love it.

This is a great everyday carry Swiss Army Knife. I previously carried a Fieldmaster which is a 4 "layer" knife but I wanted something slimmer in my pocket. The beauty of the SAK Compact is that it gives you pretty much everything you need for an EDC knife and at the same time consolidates or eliminates some of the tools to make the whole package much smaller. The Compact is a 2 layer knife. Victorinox has achieved this slim design by first consolidating the blade and screwdriver/can opener slots from 2 slots down to one. They did this by removing the small blade, and in it's place adding a screwdriver/bottle opener/wire stripper that also functions as a can opener, thereby removing the separate can opener tool. So the first slot now has the large blade and the new multi-tool piece rather than a small blade. The second slot on the same side as the main blade has the scissors. The reverse side of the knife has the standard "hook" that most people think is useless, but on the edge of the hook they have added a nail file. This is a nice feature that seems like it should just be on all models rather than the smooth surface of the hook. The other tool on the reverse is the corkscrew, which on this model comes with the tiny eyeglass screwdriver threaded inside. The eyeglass tool is very handy to have and can be added to any SAK with a corkscrew, so it's nice that it is included on this model. This model also includes the pin in the tiny hole underneath the corkscrew (all models have the hole for this as well, but not many come with the actual pin). They have really gone all in on this one and also included the "Deluxe" scales (the red sides) that feature not only the usual toothpick and tweezers but also have the tiny pen as well. The pen is super convenient to have with you all the time! To me this is the best SAK model for EDC. It's about as slim as you can get (two slot) while still having the corkscrew, pen, tweezers, etc. There are some slightly slimmer models that use the ALOX scales on the sides but then you lose the storage that allows for the pen, etc. on the sides. The only improvement I might possibly make would be to add a Phillips screwdriver. If they made a model with the Phillips screwdriver rather than the corkscrew I would carry that instead as I find that a Phillips driver is much more useful for everyday carry than a corkscrew. However, if the corkscrew was removed then there wouldn't be anyplace to store the eyeglass screwdriver, so it's a compromise. If they could squeeze in a smallish Phillips screwdriver instead of the hook tool then they could leave the corkscrew on it as well... but that's for a different model. In the meantime this knife is perfect for almost anything you'd throw at it during daily life. It doesn't have the wood saw like my Fieldmaster, but I don't really need a wood saw at work, so I save my thicker, feature-packed knives for hiking and camping when I can just toss them in a backpack and not have them weighing down my pocket.

I just received this knife but I've been carrying Victorinox 91mm knives since I was a little kid. I know exactly what to expect from all of the tools but the combo tool as this is my first Compact. My impression of this knife is that it's very nice quality like every Victorinox I've ever had, and that's quite a few. I love them! I also carry a multi tool when I work. I'm director of photography and a gaffer for video production so the pliers are a must have for what I do. I've gone through a number of Leatherman products over the years. For several years I've been using a Wave or Charge AL with the bit kit and extender. Well I just don't like carrying those models because they are kind of heavy and most of the tools on them I just don't like as much as a SAK equivalent. I like the blade better and the scissors on the Wave/Charge tools is a total joke compared the Victorinox scissors. My solution was to get a lighter multi tool I wouldn't hate to carry so I got a Rebar. I like it as its smaller and lighter and I like the pliers better. Cool. I also got tiny Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite bike tool that works perfectly with the Leatherman bit kit and is much more versatile than using the bit kit with the Charge. Cool. Then, I had to get a Vic Compact. I'd never given this model much thought until I got a Rebar. These two tools almost seem like a match made in heaven! The Rebar had great pliers and long dedicated drivers and a decent saw and file. The Compact adds the awesome scissors, a corkscrew, mini eyeglasses driver, tweezers, a freaking pen, and a blade I've always loved all in a tiny package! I'm very happy. For work, now it's the Rebar on my belt and the Compact in the pocket and the Topeak ratchet with bits and a few important sockets in the bag for field repairs to equipment. This makes a very compact and versatile tool kit! When not on set, I will still carry my Climber StayGlow or Huntsman for a little more versatility but the Compact is a very welcome addition. Anyone looking for a Leatherman Wave? LOL!

I have had at least 3 dozen knives over the years, but the Compact was my first EDC knife. Some years ago, on a trip to Japan, I lost it. In the years since, I tried to replace it with a SAK Climber with plus scales, but I missed the Compact. You wouldn’t think a couple of extra mm mattered, but it really did. As a result, I bought another recently, and perhaps to my delight, I paid less than what I paid for it originally! What folks don't tell you about the Compact is that the key ring placement is unusual. As a result, none of the pocket clip solutions that you see available for Swiss Army Knives will work with the Compact. Some will balk at the fact that the Compact is more expensive than other knives, but what they don't know is that the Compact is one of the very few knives that is still hand-assembled, and as a result, it carries a premium in the Swiss Army lineup. On paper, the most glaring issue with the Compact is the lack of a Phillips, but in practice, the combination tool is an excellent stand-in and can tackle most emergency situations that call for one. The Compact is especially well-suited for a tool when you're outside of the house because ostensibly, if you happen to be inside the house, it might be fine to carry a heavier knife or multi-tool. While you could carry a smaller keychain tool, you lose out on the larger-size tools that the Compact provides. It is the perfect balance of feature and function that has made it impossible to beat.

The Victorinox Compact, Red, 91mm is an excellent Swiss Army Knife! Small enough to carry comfortably, yet it offers multiple useful tools that are durable and high-quality. The bright red color makes it easy to find, and the craftsmanship is top-notch, as expected from Victorinox. Perfect for everyday carry, outdoor adventures, or just having a reliable multi-tool on hand. Highly recommend!

It’s a larger than I’d like and the flip mechanism is a bit stiff, but the tool selection is great and I frequently miss it when it’s not on me. Even the little handle hook has been nice to have

Es sind genau die Funktionen vorhanden, die ich regelmäßig nutze, ohne dass das Taschenmesser unnötig groß oder schwer wird. Diese Funktion mag auf den ersten Blick unscheinbar wirken, hat sich ifür mich aber bereits mehrfach als äußerst nützlich erwiesen. Insgesamt bin ich mit dem Victorinox Compact rundum zufrieden. Es vereint bewährte Victorinox-Qualität mit einer durchdachten Werkzeugauswahl in einem kompakten Format. Ich würde dieses Taschenmesser jederzeit wieder kaufen und vergebe daher gerne fünf von fünf Sternen.
