Excellent product
These fans are very impressive. I've had 3 mounted on board our sailboat for at least 6 years and they are still doing great. This one was purchased to add another fan in a forward cabin. They are far superior to the Hella-brand fans of which I have one mounted in an aft cabin. The Bora fans push more air, are much quieter, and better designed than Hella fans. If there is one downside, they are a pain to clean requiring you to take them apart to really get at the blades and inner workings.

One of the best available
What can I say? It’s not like we have a lot of choices out there for 12v fans for marine applications.I find it best for the sleeping cabins and would prefer something with a little more gumption for the Saloon. I have two there and still would prefer something more powerful but I simply couldn’t find a better alternative.I know, some of you will say that they have to be small because they go on boats. To that I say “Bunk!” Boats are getting roomier and you need more airflow. Besides, I started out in the electronics industry. Muffin fans are at least 40 yo technology, as small as... well... a muffin, and can kick up a helluva breeze. So while these are as good as we’re going to get right now, I think we should expect more.(Side track for a moment: who writes the suggestions for these reviews? Why the suggestion for “travel” and a star rating? These are 12v fans designed for campers and yachts. Travel is something they just do. Do they ask, “are we there yet?”, do I have to stop every 30 minutes? No. You want 5 stars for that?! Now back to our regularly scheduled review...)Installation was easy (especially considering all the other things that go wrong on boats), operation is simple, ridiculously quiet (75db on high right next to the fan (think of a whisper in your ear) - ambient sound level of vessel is 63 db with engines off at anchor), and it’s a far far better alternative to the older fan by the same maker.Helpful? 👇🏽

Not just for Boats
This is the 2nd fan I have bought of these, the 1st was purchased around 2016 and is still running well with no issues. This fan does move a lot of air with minimal amperage. I'm using these in my R/V to help circulate the heat during the winter and keep the interior cool in the summer. Only one complaint I do have about these fans, I had to use my Dremel tool to cut out some of the guard on the back side to allow more air to flow with less cavitation, and it works but, make sure the person using the fan is aware that little fingers can slip inside and get smacked by the fan blades. Great Fan and I'm ordering 2 more in the near future to complete my project in the R/V.Note - For those who are Amateur Radio Operators - This fan doesn't interfere with my HF or VHF/UHF equipment, no detectable RFI.

Quiet - because it doesn’t actually move any air.
Do you want a fan that is super quiet? Do you want it to be absolutely useless too? YOU GOT IT! I wish I could return it but I had to connect my own plug to the thing and now I’m outside the return window.Do not waste your money on this thing. I bought two for my van build and only installed one because they are useless. They move little to no air on even the highest setting. It is super quiet, so it has that going for it - but that’s it. It’s a very expensive wall ornament that you will inevitably hit your head on because it has to be that close to you before you feel any air movement off this thing. Seriously don’t waste your money.

This fan is great for moving air in my boat and plan on getting two more.
I put this fan down below on my catalina 22 sailboat. I have one deep cycle battery and a 50 watt solar panel. I have used it while working on the living area down below. It has made a giant difference with outside temperature in the upper 80s. The fan is fairly quiet on high, it is a fan. The big deal is very low amperage draw on my battery. I have run it for hours at a time and never seen my battery loose more than one tenth of a volt.I will buy two more to increase my comfort for overnight stays, very pleased with my purchase!!

A must buy
Great fans for our boat. We replaced 5 already. Haven’t been disappointed with these. We love the three speeds and adjustable fan angles. Highly recommend

Blade touch caseing
I have bought 6 of these fans. 3 of them did not work properly. The blades on the fan are touching the back cover case. I removed the cover to have a closer look. I could see that the blades didn't rotate evenly. I checked even closer and noticed that the center screw is not cantered on the rotating rod, which is causing the blades to wobble and make both vibrations sound and touch the back cover creating a very loud noise.Since these fans have been shipped to me from US to the Caribbean, I have no option to return them. So to try to fix it, I have had to release the back cover a bit so it doesn't touch when fan is spinning. But the wobbling I can't fix, so the life span on these fans are not expected to be long due to the vibrations. Not impressed with the uneven quality of this fan.

Great little fan
Ordered 2 ,I like it ordered 3 more 2 on dining table , two by the bed, & one for little cooking area it gets hot around that area on my cabover , quiet good flow easy to install ,just reverse the your wires cause it says on directions positive , negative , I dint like that at all but did just added 3 amp fuse line wire , so if their is no flow than I reverse wires, but great buy should done that 10 years ago cause dry camping I have no air flow in my camper , oh draws very little amps, bought other model Kona but to to loud that be good for a boat ; so I just went from nearest lamps in camper put t connectors fuse line drill 2 holes easy , don’t think is going to give u ton flow , but for its size is good , not cheap but worth it
