Good value
As a volunteer home workshop machinist I don't make a penny on the work I do for a battleship restoration. That means the tooling has to be budget friendly. These tools have held up well working on carbon steel, stainless steel, brass and bronze. The durability of the inserts in a heavy, rigid lathe is excellent. In smaller, less rigid lathes they do not last as long but that's not the fault of the inserts.

Indexable, small, light cuts!
I really like indexable tooling because I get nice sharp tool edges with a quick tool but change. These guys are just the ticket but if you are boring a lot of material I would suggest a beefier tool, or finish using light cuts with this set. Chatter and deflection were present when I pushed some deeper cuts.

Every lathe should come with a set of these your work goes from so so to wow accurate a delicate cuts, enough said just buy them .

Got it for a job, it did the job just fine. No thrills but worked well. I have used only one bar once.

I would have given this a 5 start but the packaging was confusing. The boring bars are packaged in a box that is for lathe tools. I contacted the seller and we were able to easily sort this out. The seller was extremely responsive and I will deal with him in the future. There are three boring bars. I have used the small one on five projects so far. It is strong and works well. Installing the carbide insert is easy but I would recommend strongly that you keep the grub screw on the driver as it is small and easily dropped. The inserts seem to be well made and cut easily.
