* UPDATE * Figured I'd do a little update here. Been well over a month since I got him his replacement and it's still strong as ever! So I definitely believe now that my previous assumption was correct. The only real way these seem like they're going to rip is with some other force contributing to it and that a dog can't simply do it by themselves. I'd definitely recommend and plan on purchasing another when the time comes to replace this current one! * UPDATE * Little under a month of owning it and dog managed to tear it open at one of the seams and get stuffing E'RYWHERE! Believe he may have only really accomplished this because by the end of the day, I have every one of his toys under my desk chair. One day, I inadvertently rolled over part of it and didn't realize that I had, nor that him constantly causing my chair to move wasn't his daily activity of bumping into it while laying down, but was him trying to free his toy from its pain and misery. So believe it only got the tear in it in the first place that allowed him to really get into it was because of a situation that's abnormal. I've already ordered and have a new one as I don't really think he'll be able to rip up another one as easily with out other assistance like he had with the first one, but I shall see! Even if he does, I'll continue buying them. He really seems to enjoy it over all and few bucks a month for him to have something to play with isn't going to break the piggy bank. Also would like to note that this time this one came in protective wrapping, but seemed like an Amazon type wrapping more so than the manufacturer. So kudos to Amazon for placing it in a plastic baggy. * ORIGINAL * Doing my initial review of this and I'll edit it later in regards to how long it lasted with my dog, when/if that time comes! My dog absolutely LOVES this thing! He's basically got it down that if I get a box from the front door and talk to him, that he's getting something. I thought he was excited when I sat down and was opening the packaging, boy was I wrong! Soon as I took it out, he went bonkers for it! He knew it was his and he wanted it NOW! I could barely get the tags off of it, he wanted it so badly. Matter a fact, he did manage to take it from me at least once before I could get everything removed. It appears to be holding up pretty well. Granted, I've only had it for a few days, but every time I turn around, he's chewing and tooting this thing like crazy. He typically tears larger things up relatively quickly, so I suspect if he can easily get through it, it'll be with in the next week. However I don't think he will, at least not as easily as he tends to others. It seems pretty durable and even playing "tug-o-war" with him, it felt strong. Only complaint I do have is that it comes as is. Not wrapped up in any kind of plastic or anything, so who knows what it could have been exposed to.

We previously bought the same toy from a Petco I believe. And the dog loved this toy. And it lasted and lasted and lasted. Oh the dog chewed off the teeth around the end and the orange fins along the back showed a lot of loving over time. But it lasted close to a year of good play before she finally got through a part of the seam around the neck (and stuffing time). Hence an immediate order for a new one as it proved to be something that was well loved and used ...

Update 3 (They aren't made like they used to be.): The first ones I brought lasted until my dogs took them outside and I decided to retire them and order two new ones. Despite being dirty they were intact and squeakers still worked. I ordered two new ones for my dogs for Christmas and the squeakers must be made differently now because they died in less than a month. The toy itself is still intact so far I just wish they used the original squeaker that lasted much longer. Update 2: It is now May. My dogs have had these toys since Christmas! They are still alive! One of the squeakers is squished but the dogs still love them. No rips or tears yet even around the tags. I am completely amazed that these have lasted. Well worth the money. Original: I brought two of these as a Christmas gift for my dogs. One is a German Shepherd and the other is a Shepherd Lab mix so they aren't small dogs. Toys especially soft ones rarely last more than a few minutes in our house. Well this little gator is over two weeks old and still going strong! Even the squeaker still works! My biggest dog, Shadow, loves it. He runs and chews it and drops it infront of us to throw it for him. I highly recommend this toy if your pet is a toy shredder.

A very nice toy....but Too small and easily destroyed for my dogs. Very nice color and still they love it though. We had the much larger size, which is what I though I had ordered to replace which they still play with the remnants of. If you don't have very large dogs that can't stand to have squeakers in them like mine you could probably keep this one in one piece longer than we did. It's a really nice toy. My dogs LOVED it even though they kind of destroyed it. They still play with the tattered bits to both of the torn up ones, the old and new one.

DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO BUYING THIS DISPOSABLE CHEW TOY! I bought it for my 7 month old German Shepherd mixed rescue based on previous comments -- I had to double check for a "SUCKER" tattoo on my forehead. In less than 15 minutes my dog had removed one arm, ripped open a seam, and pulled out half the stuffing. The adjectives slapped on this item are 100% false -- it is NOT sturdy, NOT durable. It did have a squeaker -- but I had to get it away from the dog before he ate it! Again -- DO NOT BUY THIS "TOY"! I'd give it ZERO stars if I could...

My Silky terrier loves this toy. It’s squishy and squeaks easily, but the bumps make it more durable. So far, he hasn’t torn a hole in it. And I enjoy playing fetch with him as has a nice throw quality to it. Glad I bought it for Monkey.

This toy came a lot smaller then I had assumed when buying the large one. I have a large lab and I can't see this toy lasting long.

This is the best toy I’ve ever bought for my Pitbull. It is incredibly tough, and he loves it! He usually is able to tear up any toy in about 5 minutes. This one has lasted for weeks, and still squeaks! Thank you, goDog!

I had the highest hope for this one, looked solid and sturdy but my mini poodle managed to rip it up in just 2 days!

I bought it with reservations due to its material but did because of the reviews. I received it about a week ago and it is still intact. My Bernese Mountain Dog loves it.
