I would gladly buy these collars alone for near the price of the bar. I like the plastic locking collars sold elsewhere on desertcart, but I much prefer serious screw-types like these. They'll probably find a permanent home on my press log. For the price, this bar can't be beat. Only time will tell if I can remove the price qualifier there. Good knurling; not too sharp but definitely sufficient. Works great as a curl bar or for lying triceps-pullovers. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The handle angles are the same as every pro bar you've used in the local Gold's. The sleeves are bolted on - no circlip. If that's a deal breaker then there's always Ivanco but again, for the money this thing is amazing. And the collars!!! It did come packaged in a heavy grease but five minutes with a rag and some thinner took care of it.

I found some of the other reviews helpful regarding the grips (they're great for me) and a recommendation to buy the chrome bar vs. the black bar as the black one may be more prone to rust over time. The chrome bar I purchased did come with the nice screw-down ring collars shown in the photo, even though the description said collars not included. The collars have a metal ring insert, so the tension screw applies an even pressure to the bar and doesn't ding it up. Maybe the collars aren't included with the black bar, as they're not shown in it's photo - ??. Not much more to say about a crooked steel bar. I have a couple other Body Solid / Powerline items and both had and have a fair amount of faith in the quality of the brand. So far, everything I've gotten from them has been good equipment at a fair price - worth the few extra bucks over the cheaper big box store brands.

**Q: does this ez curl bar accomodate 2inch plates?**
A: yes, this bar is made to accommodate Olympic plates which have the 2" diameter hole.

**Q: Are the sleeves pinned or allen bolt on the end?**
A: Allen bolt

**Q: Do the black and chrome bars have different grip angles? Wouldn't expect them to, but looks like it in the pics.**
A: The comment above is not true. EZ curl bars are NOT created equally. In strict curl competitions, they will use an IVANKO OB-30 bar. The angles are less extreme and the space in-between the gripping points vary in distance.

**Q: I just purchased this product, and I noticed that the collars spin very freely (no issue) but they also rattle back and forth. Is this normal?**
A: I purchased the same bar and yes its normal as there are bearings inside the tips of the bar. The tips should only slide back and forth just a tiny bit maybe no more than an 8th of an inch. If more than that than you probably have a defective bar. Good luck

I'm going to make this right to the point. After buying a cheap hollow EZ bar at sports authority, I realized I could probably get a WAY BETTER bar for less; and I was right! Reasons this should be your choice: 1) The bar has great angles for perfect curls, tricep extensions etc. 2) It is very well made with very smooth rotating ends, extra "grippy" hand positions, and overall a well made quality, weighing almost 20 lb. 3) Safety clips are included and they are actually pretty good. They are decent quality fit the bar great and, however, they aren't as easy to take off and on as the squeeze clips are. Overall, I knew this was going to be a step up from the hollow, no bearings bar; however, this far exceeded my expectations for quality. By the way, I'm not at all new to weightlifting and have decent experience with different types of equipment, bars, dumbbells etc.
