Great for maximizing your dumbbells
I love these. They are so helpful for getting that incremental weight and not having to buy more dumbbells. They attach securely to iron dumbbells and look great. I have attached them to the rubber coated. If you move very slowly, they stay on “most” of the time. They are very expensive. $100 for 2 pairs which is a total of 10lbs. Crazy, but I won’t ding them for that. If people are willing to pay that much, they should charge that much.

Platemates are great mates for the gym but not your wallet
How can you go wrong with this one. These things work great for those that need to increase in small increments during their workout routine. My only regret is that I didn't come up with this idea or I'd be a billionaire. Platemates must surely be enforcing their patent on these rascals because it appears that they are the only company making these things (do a google search). Unfortunately, it seems with that monopoly comes a ridiculous price tag for a little bit of metal and magnets. Which by the way are super strong. You're gonna get a workout just pulling them apart once you get them out of the box. So, in summary: Great product. Very useful. Ridiculous cost for something so small and seemingly easy to construct. ( I thought I was getting two pair for the price I paid. Only in America. ) Thanks for reading.

Perfect for iron dumbbells!
I have found that, for dumbbells under 40 lbs each, the standard weight steps of 5 lbs are too great because they slow my rate of progress. These magnetic hex weight attachments are a perfect answer for that problem. I bought 4, and have found that they all hold well enough to have no slippage during exercise, but yet are easy to detach when you need the unmodified dumbbell weight. I'm completely satisfied with them for my purposes. Note: My iron dumbbells have very slightly convex ends, but would generally be considered as "flat ended" even though they truly are not.

but they attached very securely to my CAP Cast Iron Hex Dumbbells I also have the CAP Neoprene coated 15# dumbbells (no I don't
These just arrived so I haven't used them yet during a full workout, but they attached very securely to my CAP Cast Iron Hex Dumbbells I also have the CAP Neoprene coated 15# dumbbells (no I don't work for CAP but thought the brand might be relevant) and they actually feel pretty secure on those too. I know in the questions section people said they would only work on the full iron dumbbells, but I feel comfortable working out with them on my neoprene ones - at least for basic moves. I might not swing them around as a kettlebell replacement to be on the safe side, but otherwise I think they'll stick on there just fine.

Way to expensive, but love this things.
These little weight have helped me got over several plateaus when 5 lb jumps were to much. I would love to have another set, but the cost is just to high. Would have give a 5 star if not for the price.

Perfect Product for Dumbbell Progression
These stick strongly to the dumbbells at my gym. The dumbbells have a rubber coating so I wasn't sure if the Platemates would stick, but they do.I do mostly barbell work but enjoy dumbbells for shoulders. The Platemates Hex Pair allows increases of 1.25 lbs at a time, perfect for dumbbell progression and much better than the 5lb per dumbbell I'd end up with if I didn't own them. Also they're easy to carry around the gym.

Add on's work well
These work well, unfortunately my hex dumbells are curved on the ends so the magnets do slide around but are strong enough that they do not fall off. It is a problem that dumbell manufacturers in China are off as much as five pounds on a 65 pound dumbell. No kidding I have labeled 65's that weigh 62 on a precision digital scale. So for my workouts I need accurate weights in five pound incrementsRoger
