Very informative, but frustrating pictures.
Good book. Very informative with a lot of techniques. Biggest problem is the pictures. They aren't always clear as to exactly what you should do, and some of the pictures look virtually identical in technique to ones in other moves. I wish they were a bit more in depth. But it was still a very helpful book.

Lot of interesting exercises with unclear explanations that can damage you.
Exercise descriptions are not clear and can be interpreted in a variety of ways. Trying out new exercises from this book hurt me in an unpleasant and damaging way. I foam roll every day but I generally do only 5-6 exercises that I know from youtube instruction videos, though there are a lot more in the book that I would like to try.If there were links with videos or clear explanations it would be 4 stars. As it is this book is worthless.Stay away.

Perfect for the gym bag!
Wow! This book is exactly what I was looking for! It goes though some of the science behind SMR, has a basic chart on muscle groups, oodles of great exercises and also advice on what not to do. Small but perfect book! Will fit in my gym bag perfectly! 😀

Three Stars
Certain instructions were cut off and incomplete or incoherent, e.g. the Piriformis roll.

The BEST book on foam rolling
Finally I understand how to use my foam roller. Have purchased at least 3 other books about foam rolling: all lacked adequate pictures and clear instructions. The book itself is exactly as long as it neeeds to be. Although there are 144 pages, the page size is 6"x9", pages are beatifully formateed with many "how to" photos as well as "tricks of the trade" boxes to remind you of the essentials. This book covers 54 exercise. While most people deveop a routine of 10-15 excersise to shut their areas that benefit from stretching before a workout or can be used for "problem" muscles that feel tight or uncomfortable. It is great to have an arsenal of potential stretches - you never know when some strange tightness is going to occur.I leraned the basics of foam rolling as part of an exercise class. I found that my repetoir was limited and it was often difficult to remember exactly what to do.THIS BOOK HAS BEEN AN EXTREMELY VAUALBLE RESOURCE. It is one of the few exercise books I have that I use at least 1-2 times a week.

Deep muscles massage you can do yourself
I have always wanted to see a good diagram of all of the muscles and how to access them. They do a great job of explaining deep massage with a roller.

Bought for my clients
I teach foam rolling workshops as part of my Pilates business and wanted a book I could recommend for clients. I like this as it is laid out very well and is informative without being too heavy on 'fitness speak'. I've bought 10 so far and they have been very well received. Delivery was quick and books in perfect order.

False claims
Could not believe in book which is saying to roll your lumbar spine, for lot of people, even without problems, in long term it can be dangerous, and in most cases for people with lumbar spine problems it can make it worse.
