Super honest review. WHITE lights. You read right.
I got this for our TV. You should too. Here's why- Besides all the obvious benefits of having a bias lighting system for your TV (reduced eye strain, richer blacks/contrast, perfect ambient lighting for occasions and holidays), this Hamlite's white setting is TRUE WHITE. Let me explain the caps... Before this Hamlite strip, we were big fans of Luminoodle. Used them for years. We recently got a new TV so we needed a new strip, but alas Luminoodle was out of stock on the size we needed. So I went on the hunt. Luminoodle was the only brand I knew at the time that its white setting was a true white, around 6000K, and not some weird off white. This Hamlite is 6500. White. Let me repeat that. White. Before stumbling upon the Hamlite strip, I went through 2 other vendors first and they were all just terrible! Yeah they had fun remotes (our Luminoodle before didn't have a remote. I hear they do now) and colors and blah, blah. The problem was all their whites weren't even white! It was this weird clearly slightly blueish white. SO annoying. Should've known when none of them disclosed their Kelvins anywhere. Personally, I have to have white for most viewing content so it doesn't influence color perception, so needless to say this was a deal maker for me on the Hamlite. Point is, get this strip. You can modify brightness, change colors, multiple modes, strong adhesive, black strip (which is another + over the luminoodle, which was white- the Hamlite is stealth) long enough to make a complete circle around our 65" screen (another + , you wouldn't believe how many strips claim a large size and then don't even go all the way around >_<) decent sized remote, all delivered in an airtight sealed package. I will definitely be buying Hamlite moving forward. A tad on the pricier end of bias lights, but you get what you pay for with this. And that, in my opinion, is perfection. Will update this review should the product not hold up. Thanks for reading.

Quality Lights
Itโs difficult to find backlights that display true white at 6500 Kelvin. Most have a bluish tint even when at their brightest. The other colors are full, rich and accurate as well. The length was sufficient to go all the way around my 75in. with about 6in to spare without any gaps. Installation took about an hour to do it right. I have a flat edge about the same width of the strip on all four sides I could use as a guide to keep it straight. As others have mentioned, I used tape to map out placement prior to final adhesion. Directions say to clean surface with alcohol but I used a cleansing towelette to remove dust with great results. Once I had it taped in place I was able to keep the strip tight while removing the red adhesive cover 3-4 lights at a time. Take your time with this step and press it to the surface as you go along, it will pay off when youโre finished. Make sure you trim at the gold lined area only. If the steps outlined are followed there should be no reason the adhesive to come off. I checked the USB connection for several minutes with lights at their brightest to ensure compliance with voltage without issues. I used blue paint tape to secure the USB wire to the back of the set to keep it clean and out of sight. The build quality, adhesion, brightness, remote function and price far exceed anything else youโll consider purchasing, so just buy them youโll be thoroughly satisfied.

Very bright and gets the job done
I've got LED strips on every single screen in my home, TV's and monitors, so I've bought a lot. Overall, this is a decent setup that I would use again, but it's not the best I've ever bought. Build quality is good though, and I feel it's a good value for the money. I appreciate the longer USB plugin it came with, because it made it very easy to reach the USB ports on the TV. It's rated for up to 85" TV's, but it's plenty long to fit an 86" with minor adjustments. The corners aren't as easy to navigate as the pictures would have you believe, but it does spread the light nicely around the corners.

Colors are ok, most of the effects are annoying, cannot control from mroe than inches away
Adding more detail 1/9/25 The included app is not included, you have to pay a fee to use it. Which means you canโt connect it to WiFi or Bluetooth to manage it. Thereโs nothing in the copy indicating you have to pay additional recurring fees to use the light you paid extra for because of its connectivity. Thatโs dishonest and Iโm lowering my star rating to one star. I've bought several of these kinds of lights over the years for various TV bias lights. Most have a few major issues the makers should have figured out on their own. 1. If I turn the TV off, the light strip plugged into the TV USB port should turn off too. If I turn on the TV, turn on the lights to my last setting. Getting this simple thing right seems out of reach of many of these, including this one. 2. Terrible remotes that are practically worthless. Even with the little antenna wire, it only works if you are within inches of the wire. If that wire is behind the TV you have to get up and use the remote by sticking your hand behind the TV and trying to remember the buttons because you can see them. And you have to be a few inches away to use the remote. This makes the whole point of a remote worthless. Several brands have this problem. 3. The lights are somewhat dim, the LED chain I had for my last TV had many more lights, and they were brighter and richer or deeper in color. 4. The sticky tape on the back barely works, I had to use superglue to get it to stay up, on a properly cleaned brand-new TV. There was no dirt or dust. Still, it fell off after one day. 5. You have to bend the wire to deal with corners, like the rectangle shape of the TV, there are four corners. The wire is not designed to bend. So instead you have to force it, crimp it, and more glue and hope it stays in place despite the tension it has at each turn or corner now. If you're making an LED light strip and promoting it for use on a large TV then you should do the basic functions to ensure it actually works on a large TV.

Great so far!
Been running this for about 5 months with an 83โ OLED. Will fit 85-90โ. Looks great, plenty bright, no issues so far. It also allows for color changes and dimming. I like that the stripping is black, as it blends in with the back of the TV more. Peel and stick installation is simple and holds well. RF remote control operated, so you can turn it off manually. I have a Sony TV, which doesnโt play nice with USB lighting, so I like that I can turn it on and off with a remote rather than unplugging it. Well worth the money. Other bias light kits cost a lot more.

Exceeds My Expectations . . . by a lot!
I was skeptical after reading about these bias lights but thought I'd give it a try. I'm amazed at the difference in color definition, and depth of blacks and whites on my 4 year old TV. I'll admit to using only the white but WOW! The whole screen just pops after dark. Excellent value and performance. (The other colors are kind of fun when the TV isn't on, too) Extremely easy to install on TV (just a few minutes) and is invisible behind set. Very easy on the eyes.

Dies after a couple months due to too many LEDs at this size
Beautiful colors and nice design for the RGBW LED strip (which includes a separate dedicated white LED). However, I've had two of these fail after 6-8 weeks because at this length they pull too much current to be supplied by most TV's USB ports. After the 2nd one failed, I put it on a tester and determined that it draws over 1,000 mA at 5V, and most USB ports can only provide half that (500 mA). If your TV limits the current like mine does, then the voltage drops to less than 3V and while it works for a while the controller circuit eventually dies due to the lack of proper power. I ended up soldering in a replacement RGBW controller because I didn't want to take the TV down to replace the LED strip. If you use this product, you absolutely should use a USB wall wart that can provide at least 1.5A at 5V rather than plugging it into the TV port. Not recommended if you just want a plug-and-play solution and especially if you want it to turn on and off with the TV.

This bias lighting checks all the boxes!
I just installed these LED strips on my Sony 65โ A8H TV. I had a few criteria when selecting my bias lighting: 1. Must have a dedicated white 6500k LED 2. Must have colour LED (more for fun) 3. Must be dimmable 4. Must be a black strip to blend into the back of the tv. You would be surprised how hard it is to find an LED strip that meets those requirements. Thankfully I came across the Hamlite set and so far I am pretty happy with them. The LEDS are very bright and the colors are vibrant. In addition the adhesion feels strong and I donโt think they will fall off easily. I placed them at an even 2โ from the edge of my screen for a clean look as the back of TV is visible from the hallway. I cannot say for certain if the white is 6500k as I have nothing to compare them against but I think it is close. I can say the light is NOT blueish white as some people have said. Overall I am pleased so far.
