I read this in English and got it for my dad to read in Spanish.No lo pude dejar de leer. Todos los miembros de mi familia que lo han leído se lo han devorado. Excelente libro!

Everyone should read this or something like it to understand

Al recorrer la vida de estos personajes que en tiempo de la lectura es relativamente corto; la realidad de las vivencias y las experiencias descritas hacen de esta lectura un desgarrador relato de una dolorosa realidad para miles de inmigrantes haciendo su travesía.

A magnificent description of the cruel reality that occurs day by day, not only in Mexico, but also in many other of our latinoamerican countries. Together with the evil of the cartels and mafia demons, shows also the kindness and compassion of good local people who help the immigrants in their tragic journey in search for a better life, which they also have the right to enjoy. I like the details of the narrative, which at the beginning I believed excesive, but as the story progresses I found necessary, important and desirable. A very good novel which brings to light the sad bitterness of those who dare to confront all kind of risks and dangers to pursue the slim possibility of having a better life.

My 76 year old mother has lost sleep because of this book. She does but want to put it down. And she calls me with excitement every now and then to tell me what happened next! LOVE IT! love to see her enjoy a good read ♥️

This is a great fiction novel addressing a global problem, "immigration" , at some points very dramatic and exaggerated but with the only intention of enhance the story. Some critics say it's very racist which I didn't perceive. I do understand why it can be upsetting at not completely analyzing the whole problem and tagging Mexico and other central American countries as narco countries but for the purpose of a fiction novel it's really outstanding

Una novela brutal y extraordinariamente buenísima.Desde la primera palabra ya hace que él lector no pueda dejar de leer la historia.Me ha conmovido hasta la extenuación, me arrancó un par de sonrisas, y he necesitado miles de kleenex.Bien escrita, y con el magistral poder de hacerte uno más de sus personajes mientras sigues la historia.Un libro recomendable 100%🌹

Me dolió que, aunque es ficción, estas historias sí sucedan en mi país. Qué más da quien la escriba, no se puede negar la realidad.

My sister recommended the English version of this book to me and has forwarded her copy to her daughter. One of my hobbies is reading in Spanish, a language in which I am not fluent but enjoy working on. I am not finished it yet as I have to look up words, but my sister thought it was a great read. So far, it has definitely captured my interest as well. Muy buen libro.
