Sturdy wrench, easy to use, bonus case for long term storage
This appears to be a solid torque wrench, with a nice case to store it in between my very rare uses, and the price was excellent for what I got. I've gone 60 years without really needing a torque wrench, but decided to install a trailer hitch on my own to save $200 and figured securing the bolts to specs was pretty important and for about $25 I could have some peace of mind.To adjust to the desired torque, you loosen up the bottom bolt and then turn the lower part of the handle. There are etched marks along the handle to show where it's set in intervals of 5/10 ft lbs, and marks around the lower handle for finer settings. It also shows newton meters if that's your thing. The size and weight are equivalent to a large ratchet wrench and it feels well made. I needed to hit about 50 ft lbs which was my limit for vertical bolts while laying on my back, but you can set is up to 80. When you're torqued to the proper setting, the clutch mechanism will slip a little and you'll hear a click. Very easy to use and as long as you set the number right and torque until it clicks you can't go wrong.I got the 3/8" model since that's what most of my sockets fit. Some of my extensions seems loose on the wrench so it was a little awkward to use, but it's no worse of a fit than my regular wrenches and only stands out because I'm putting so much force on it.The storage case seems excessive, but I don't expect to be using this very often, so hopefully it'll keep things from rusting. This saved me a bunch of money and was very satisfying to finally hear the "click" and know I'm done.

Good quality lets see how it works
I recently purchased this wrench, and although I haven't had a chance to put it to the test just yet, my initial impression is that it's made with high-quality materials. Based on the build and construction, l'm optimistic that it will perform well and meet my needs.I'll be sure to update my review once I've had more experience with it.Update: worked perfectly as needed πππ§

A Budget Torque Wrench for the Home Mechanic
This is a quarter inch drive torque wrench that is useful for nuts and bolts of quarter inch or less. I tested it against my Craftsman 1/2 inch drive torque wrench using 10 ( 120 inch pounds ). This torque wrench seemed to be calibrated lower than the torque applied by the Craftsman wrench. It clicked before reaching the 10 foot pound torque when set at 120 inch pounds. It also clicked when set to 150 inch pounds ( 12 foot - pounds ). The nut should have moved a little bit when the torque was at 150 inch pounds but it didn't. This may not be a fair comparison because I do not know how accurate the 1/2 drive torque wrench is at 10 foot pound which is the lowest setting. I would say that it is probably better to torque a nut or bolt slightly less than more, so this wrench will suffice. The unit comes well packaged in a tough plastic case which is important because it will not suffer damage in shipping which could affect the calibration.A draw back to this unit is that there is no calibration certificate. It is unknown if anyone has ever tested this wrench against a known torque. I take one star off for not knowing if this wrench has ever been calibrated. Also there are no instructions. I finally found a PDF instruction manual but one has to hunt for it in the description. The unit locks by moving the collar on the handle up. The settings are etched into the handle and are difficult to read. I get a 3X magnifying glasses to be sure I've got the correct mark. This is a good value for those occasional mechanics such as myself who will use this wrench a couple of times a year. A pro should get a higher quality brand that will have a calibration certificate and a life time warrantee. This unit has a 1 year warrantee.

Good for its price.
Pretty good, feels study and accurate. I had no problems using the torque wrench.

Right tools for the job
I'm not a mechanic, and I'm not wealthy. Had to replace the transmission myself, so needed to aquire the tools to do it. I definitely put them to use, and now we have a working vehicle again.I personally don't care to do anything like that again, but if I have to, I have the tools for it.

Broke on 1st use.
Broke on first use...Recommend you avoid. Bought this in anticipation of upcoming job but that job was beyond the return window. Wish I would have waited. Fresh out of the box, set torque to secure a few oil pan bolts, after 1st bolt the gear train won't engage and it just free spins....Junk.

Good product; uneasy about the protection plan
I bought the 3/8"-drive Amazon Basics torque wrench. I could have spent a lot more, but no reason to think more $ = more quality. I also read the 1-star reviews for every brand I considered. I concluded that every brand sends out X% junk torque wrenches. So I bought this one and paid Amazon for an Amazon 3-year warranty. Amazon will be around in 3 years, right. The wrench arrived in 24 hours, shiny, hew, apparently perfect. I put it right to work. I'd bought a new Ego LM2156SP battery-powered lawnmower to replace my old Honda-powered Craftsman gasser. Guess what, the Craftsman was metal; the Ego is plastic. On the Craftsman, I just tighten the bolt until it's snug, then once more till I grunt. Do that on the Ego and I will strip something. Don't switch blades without a torque wrench? Like working on a carbon-fiber bicycle. The torque wrench worked perfectly as advertised. What more can I say? I little hard for my old eyes to dial in the numbers, but once I did, it clicked like it should. Plenty of length on the bar to get 60 NM without staining myself. Of course I have no way of knowing if it was accurate. Now, the extra "warranty" I paid Amazon for. It's from Asurion. I gave up trying to read all the 1-star Asurion reviews on Amazon! I hope this torque wrench marches on, because I have little confidence in my extra warranty! Wish I had been more careful. I should have noticed a third party was involved in the warranty before I bought it!
