GAMA ElectronicsR.F. Remote Control Transmitter and Receiver - 9 Functions
R**G
It works as stated. This particular controller failed after just over a year in service.
I bought this in June of 2012 and it was pretty straightforward to integrate but as I've found with other product info pages Gama includes with their controls, some of the terminology isn't very clear. I've seen this before when engineers write product installation sheets, they forget that some people are not engineers. I'll speak specifically to that in my other review of a different Gama product. The controller worked until October of this year and now simply stopped working. I regularly change the batteries in the receiver and used a fresh one when it quit altogether but joy, even with the receiver/transmitter in close proximity to the controller. It started working sporadically and then finally quit. I also changed to power source to a fresh AMG battery with a regulated charging source that is within acceptable output range so that isn't it. The controller is used outdoors but covered from rain. It hasn't been subjected to freezing temperatures.I do not see a warranty statement anywhere including on the info sheet supplied to I an thinking no warranty exists. I would not expect a warranty for more than a few months anyway (fairly common for electric components) but the absence of any warranty statement is puzzling. A search on Gama's website for "warranty" comes up blank. When it worked, it did exactly what I wanted, allowing me to control two motors although it is capable of controlling several more.Things I'd recommend: A clear controller cover. It could be optional but it would provide some protection for the exposed connectors. While it would be an extra cost, a simple voltage readout to indicate the supply reaching the controller would be handy. You can and should have a multi-meter or similar but the convenience of pressing a button to read the voltage would make checking it really simple, especially if there is a question of a controller performance issue. The other item would be an connection for visual operation confirmation. There is an led that stays on when the controller is active but if the controller is located where that led isn't visible it doesn't help much. Since the led is already there, providing a connection to that source or making the led a plug in with the option to use an led with a longer lead would be really helpful. All of these items could be optional of course but I bet most customers would opt for them.3 stars because of the failure.
