Perfect for 2012 xterra
I have always loved the look of this rack on xterras and finally bought one once I needed extra storage space. I really wish I would have ordered the cargo net at the same time but glad I didn't order the locks (I feel pretty confident it wont get stolen knock on wood). Since I didn't have the net in time I did not end up using the rack for what I intended for because the bungees I had just didn't make me feel comfortable. Putting the rack together in the warm house was a breeze. It is very simple and just needed 4 screws. However once I was ready to install it on the actual car is another story. It was not my smartest decision to buy and install this thing in the heart of winter.Keep in mind you will lose the ability to park in the garage if you have a taller car like mine already is, so it had to be installed outside. The directions are absolutely useless for showing you how to actually put it on your car. I had to watch a youtube video and look up pictures online to what should have been the simplest thing ever. Once I figured it out it was a very easy process and lining it up in the center (front and sides) took longer than tightening it to my crossbars. It is well built and the hardware that holds it on is very well designed and made. The wind noise is not an issue, maybe 5% louder than it already was. I avoid parking garages like the plague since I haven't measured the true height yet. Worth the extra money for sure, I was comparing to the curt but the reviews on rust dripping lost me. My Yakima rack has been thru 2 snow melts and a few rainstorms and still looks brand new.One more feature I like is that the wind fairing in front folds down to accmmodate things such as long lumber.

Great rack!! Make sure to GET THE LOCK!!!
This rack was made with excellent craftsmanship and quality. I also got the extension that came with the accessory bar. I waited until I received the extension before I put the whole rack together. At first I thought it didn't come with the farer or a couple screws but then realized the farer had slipped out and was hidden in the box. Also the screws were pre screwed into the rack itself. I used this to drive 7 hrs to move to a new state. It worked beautifully and looked amazing on my truck. Unfortunately a few weeks after I moved to my new city someone stole the entire rack from off my truck in the middle of the night! This was my fault because I didn't buy the $70 Yakima lock (which is a very simple device) because they didn't sell them on Amazon and they were out of stock (still are as of writing this) on their website. It was a bummer but a learning lesson as well. Don't make the same mistake I did! Yakima makes great products (although their customer service could use a bit of sunshine lol!)! Not their fault but I wish they included the lock with the cargo rack for customers. I liked the rack so much that I am going to buy it again with the extension PLUS lock very soon.

Best rack ever.
I searched far and wide for the perfect rack. My dad referred my to a friend who owned a rack store. By the time he added all the features I would need, the “great deal” he was giving me was breaking $1000. Instead I bought factory crossbars and the Loadwarrior, which totaled less than $500. And I had enough left over to get a tow hitch installed so I can use a bike rack on the back and still have stuff on top.I have carried my 17 foot canoe, sleds, surfboards, camping gear and lumber with this rack with no accessories required except tie downs.I have always seen cargo baskets and thought about buying one, and I’m sure glad I did. It is not nearly as loud as the expensive rack I had on my old car. Also, my KIA Soul looks like a cool off road vehicle now.My only complaints are that the hardware to attach the basket should have locks, I shouldn’t have to pay extra for locks. And the bolts should have covers to protect your stuff from getting scratched.

Love this thing
I have always wanted one of these and I finally made the purchase. I like to come prepared when I go camping and with a midsize SUV and two dogs taking up the back seat (a whole 1/3 of my car), my space is very limited. This past weekend we went on a camping trip and I was able to use it. It worked wonderfully. I was able to throw several things up top and with a good set of ratchet straps (I used the RHINO brand that can be purchased here on Amazon) nothing budged on my way out to the camp site.I gave this four stars because I did have some issues with putting it together out of the box. One of the screws would not screw in all the way, no matter what I did. I tried with a screw driver and with a drill. I think the screw receiver came loose or something because after giving up trying to get the screw all the way in, I couldn't even get it to unscrew to take it out. So I just had to leave it in. Now it's just hanging out to where I can freely spin it in either direction with my fingers but it doesn't go anywhere. I just threw some electrical tape around it to kind of mask it sticking out and called it good. I was pretty unhappy with this because I know Yakima makes some great products and I didn't expect to have this issue. I have the corebar roof rack system and the "bigstack" kayak attachments and I'm very pleased with both.Other than the issue with the loose screw I'm very happy with the loadwarrior. It's rugged and holds up very well and is perfect for the job. It's a little tedious trying to get it up top and centered on your car when doing it by yourself, so I'd recommend having someone help you to cut down on installation time. But overall I'm very pleased. Hopefully no one else has any issues with the screws!!
