Compact steam generator iron that is very usable and pratical
Makes a noise when generating steam akin to a star wars pod racer but its not as loud generates a useful amount of steam slightly heavier than the volti i previously owned but this is just as good at ironing unless you use the eco button which effectively cuts the steam and heat so im not sure why an eco button exists unless you enjoy prolonging your ironing in which case eco mode will be your friend i call it the pointless button the iron appears robust the plastics feel good in the hand and are smooth the reservoir is a handy 1.7 litres the cord is long and i like that the iron shuts off if left standing upright after 30 secs or if left on the base unit unattended it auto shuts off after 8 minutes both are good features to have imho the dial for temperature can accidently be knocked if you have big hands but its easy to see what hest setting you are on and overall i really like ironing with the tefal compact express

Steam away
I liked the idea of the see through and detachable water holder. I liked the steam boost but I found that the tube storage a bit flimsy compared to my previous Tefal irons. I do like how light it is and easy to carry with the way the iron is attached to the base. I think it's a good iron and I would recommend it.

Powerful little iron
After reading the reviews, I was most concerned about the "noise". But it is honestly not that loud, of course it makes a minor nose due to the stream pump, but nothing like the reviews suggest. Next, I will say that the temperature dial is quite sensitive and in a place that causes me to keep bumping and turning it. A little irritating but not something that would make me not want to use it. Another thing the reviews suggest is that the steam continues to come out after you release the button. This is true. It continues for about a second after button release. This is because it's removing the steam left in the pipe. Simply being conscious of this means you can just keep the iron down once you release the button. Overall, I love the iron and it's made ironing my shirts so much easier. I'd buy it again.

Great replacement for my old Tefal express
Have replaced my 15 year old Tefal express with this model. I’m pleased with its performance so far. It’s slightly smaller than the old one but lighter to use. I like how the steam adjusts itself when the temperature is changed. Good steam and very easy to use. The tank can be emptied and is easy to remove to fill. I haven’t tried descaling or cleaning yet as not used it enough yet.

Only lasted 18 months with minimal use.
Worked ok for 18 months, although compared to previous iron the steam was not the greatest. However it has now started leaking water from inside the body and as a result there is hardly any steam at all. Will need to replace. I did buy from Amazon resale so it was classed as used but the condition was described as mint with only damaged packaging. So basically it was new. An expensive item to be replacing so soon.

Tefal Express Compact
I don't normally write reviews, but to say I was disappointed over this product is an understatement. I am one of those that irons and doesn't mind doing so, bung the tele on or some music and away you go. Previously I had a Morphy Richards power steam iron which after several years has started to leak, so a new iron was needed, Fabulous iron that was and quick and powerful, but not cheap though. With funds a little tight I came across this Tefal one, still not cheap at 90 quid, but sounded ok, nice style to, however I have had better 20-30 quid steam irons than this one, you do get steam but not much of it and a further blast when you put the iron back, ironing takes twice the time and nowhere near as crisp, if you need a decent iron save your money up for something better or buy a cheaper 20-30 quid iron that'll do the same job as this one.

Would buy again. I dob
My first 2 generator irons were Tefal then I tried Murphy Richards. Well, that is another story, but for sure I will not be using MR anymore. They do not even last the 2 years. This model of Tefal is light, easy to fill, the steam is the issue. All my previous generator irons that I owed, as soon as you took your thumb off the steam button that was it, you did not get anymore steam until you pressed the button again. This model continues to spew out steam which to me could be a very hazardous ( especially if you have toddlers around). So if I remember, I press for steam then I continue ironing after the initial burst until I think it has used the steam it has generated. This is a let down for Tefal. They charge a lot of money for these irons and I suppose they want you to buy the most expensive to get all the top features. But I really think this is a Health and safety issue. The temperature is quite good. It really gets the creases out of denim Jean's. The steam also comes out from the middle to the top of the iron only. Again justifying it as a middle range. Tefal.. get the steam sorted and I would then give you 5 stars
